Ellen Wheeler and Jill Lauire Hurst ARE getting the job done. If the show does get picked up by Lifetime or any other station, they would be smart to keep these two ladies. It wasn't until they were told to go ahead and do the story the way they wanted to that the show started getting better. It is certainly the best it has been in a long time. And it mostly due to these two fabulous ladies.

ahh you suck haha! I thought there seriously was a new Executive and head writer! Haha but seriously Dave should get the boot today. Ellen Wheeler isnt so bad but Kreizman has treated all the actors and actresses that left terribly. From what i have heard is that DK ruined all of GL's chances to get Peter Simons back as Ed and they are lucky NSA and PAS are returning because he treated them poorly too. Also, he kicked BE out of the studios! He is the one who definatly needs to go! Ellen Wheeler can stay or go i honestly dont care because her and JLH are doing a great job with the S/l's!!

I would be happy to see David leave but that's the only change I would want for the show. I have it on a very good source that Lifetime's deal is looking very good. Let's hope that this proves to be true and GL lives on to shine the light for a long time to come and WITH ELLEN WHEELER AT THE HELM.

If we get new writers/producers the ratings might come up for the better. I think we need to get rid of EW. But, also Barbara Bloom is part of the problem as well.

It seems to me since CBS/Bloom have done away with the show, the show has been better. That to me means CBS/Bloom were sticking there nose in where it doesn't belong. I feel Ellen Wheeler now has the freedom to produce the show w/o interference.

Ellen Wheeler and Jill Lorie Hurst have done more to revive the genre of daytime than anyone else. GL has an exponential increase in the number of new viewers but the problem is that the Nielsen ratings system is so antiquated that the new audience facilitated by the Internet and DVR do not appear on the ratings radar. We can only hope that Lifetime (one of my favorite networks) picks up Guiding Light and that Ellen and Jill stay at the helm.

You hit the nail on the head - CBS and Bab's reign of terror is over with..and if you can't tell that then something is wrong. Ellen and Jill have FINALLY been given the authority to produce and write a show the way it should be done!!

Bravo Ellen and Jill!! Keep up the GREAT job!!

I agree with your qoute- had it said the above.
Look Folks, I realize that this is not the time to place blame. We should all be huddled by a fire and singing Kumbaya until Lifetime rescues our beloved Guiding Light...but in the meantime somebody-somewhere (Prefferably Telenext) should be discussing how can we prevent this from ever happening again and how much of the FANS OPINIONS should be incorporated into storylines. "Since youre catering to us" We said, "No More Grady!" and the actor/character was on my screen more than before as well as other characters that didn't matter...(A contribute to the failing ratings.) This "MaybeLesbian" storyline between Olivia/Natalia is hot, a matter of fact it's on fire... but that positive has led to a road of negatives. The writers are so focused on "Otalia" that they have clearly neglected the rest of the characters/storylines. This thing in Florida has been absolutely ridiculous. All that land in "PeaksKOT" and you mean to tell me they went all the way to Florida to run around and act silly! Poor use of characters, poor use of storyline, poor use of time and certainly poor use of background footage! I think we seen this same type silliness a few years back when Alan Michael and Lucy Cooper went to Florida. As a FAN I demand to know whose this whole FLorida Storline this was and whom decided that Remy/Ashlee or any extra's at that notion SHOULD BE ON THE Florida trip! If ANYONE should have been going to Florida it should have been REVA damn it! And here's why! She just had a baby! It would have been a perfect time to revisit her post pardom storyline from years ago. She could have had the flashbacks of her driving over the bridge and everything! A matter of fact when she showed up at her house to rescue baby Colin, Edmund should have taken both of them to Florida then! Reva's whole struggle could have been, "I will be involved in this child's first years." The way she never was with Shayne and Dylan and Johnathon. And what a rating booster it would have been to have Johnathon Randall pop in and rescue "mommie and little brother" on these special episodes in Florida. Wow!!! Maybe Reva coulda even convinced Johnny to allow Phillip to see Sarah!
Guiding Light is going on Lifetime! And when it does I WANT ELLEN GONE! The only words I have for Ellen Wheeler are Vicky/Marley is who you are.....Play them.... you did a better job at it!

I for one definately want David gone. He is the reason that PAS and NSA left in 2005 and I have wanted him gone ever since. I had always hoped that both PAS and NSA would return, and when I read about them returning, I was so happy, but also suprised after the way that they were let go. I like Jill's writing. As for Ellen, I don't know. I think that she responsible for alot, but at the same time, I feel that she thought she was doing what was best. I do agree, if she can help with keeping GL on, then I will say keep her. I think alot of times that her hands were tied and she did what she thought was best with what she had. Without CBS and Barbara Bloom, Ellen may do great. Then, there is Kim Zimmerman. She wouldn't take a pay cut, which was fine. She wanted to make her contract the way that she wanted it. In my opinion, that is wrong. Just because she has been on GL forever does not mean that she deserves special treatment. There are other characters (actors) that have been on GL for a long time and some that are in my opinion, better than Reva. If she doesn't like the contract and pay that they offer, why dosen't she just move on to another soap or something else. I am not one that believes that Reva is GL. GL will go on without her. It has before or she can be replaced. The important thing at hand is to save GL. I for one have enjoyed the Orlando, FL trip and am glad that Reva was not part of it. It was great seeing family and friends, love and romance, and laughter and fun. Everyone (all of the actors) on the trip did a fantastic job with their scenes. I say good job to who ever was in charge of this.

Dim, I completely hear what you're saying. I think I've said it before, that I too was on the "take down EW" bandwagon for a very long time - I know where you are coming from. But with saying that after I came to truly understand the way things are run, and actually go down, I've come out on the other side of this.

Does Ellen Wheeler have any fault/blame in all of this? Absolutely she does, I'm not denying that at all. But alot of things she was merely the "messenger." I think what actually bit EW in the butt, was her "up-talking" herself too much way back. That she was the "best" thing to hit GL. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. She's an employee - they handed her 5 bucks and said here ya go, so to speak.

As far as David K goes - I have been screaming for YEARS that that moron has GOT TO GO! I have never run across anyone to argue that.

Jill Lorie-Hurst IMO is a brillant writer. She is a SUPER fan of Guilding Light, and she has been trying to bring back "character" writing to GL.

I just feel given different circumstances that EW and JLH make/and would make a terrific team. I did not always feel this way about EW, but I do now. I believe that CBS and Bab's held all the cards and dealt them out as they saw fit.

Thanx Biz1234. However and respectfully I disagree with most of your post. Ellen Wheeler in my opinion and with what I have seen thus far will not provide the audience with magical and mesmerizing stories such as Roger and Holly in San Dominica. Roger Thorpe and the Hall of Mirrors, Reva and her attempt on Suicide, Sally Gleason's reveal to Billy that she was in fact his mother. C'mon Folks- I could care less about a roller coaster or a character splashed by water. What effect did going to Florida cause? Why wasnt their a mystery kicked off in Florida? I realize that BABS and CBS had the last say but STILL at the end of the day "You" WERE at the helm! Beth Ehlers should have not been able to leave as easily as she did! As Laura Wright! And to replace Laura with some third rate actress was ridiculous.... no hilarious! \
I agree with ya "bIZFAN1234" whEN YOU say that Jill Lori Hurst is fabulous! I could easily distinguish her material from the previous team once it began airing.... though again, is she a One-Story woman? Im just saying..... Im willing to follow GL to the moon, just kinda hopin' there is a new Pilot to steer the Rocket!
