Born in Howell, NJ, Tom attended Howell High School specializing in performing arts. Receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts in 2004 from Rutgers University, he landed the role of troublemaker JB Randall. After a mercury-filled blood pressure device cracked on the set of "Guiding Light," along with several cast members, he was ordered into quarantine while New York City's health department examined them. Thankfully they were all given a clean bill of health.
Pelphrey received his first Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2005, recently attended the Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University. There he participated in several school productions such as Two Gentlemen of Verona, Bus Stop and Pursuit & Perception. In London's Shakespeare's Globe Theater, Tom was cast in the Taming of the Shrew & Richard III.
Tom currently resides in New York, enjoying movies, reading and riding his motorcycle.
