Carly Gives Birth!

Tuesday, November 03 2009
Claudia helps Carly deliver her baby, Dante admits the truth to Lulu, Michael runs away, and Olivia consoles Sonny.

Dominic and Johnny work to save Lulu from the freezing pool of water she’s fallen into. Johnny goes to get a rescue team when they can’t get her out because her leg is pinned and Dominic sits in the water with her trying to distract her. As he tries to keep her warm in the rising cold water, they engage in their now standard banter and discuss her childhood and parents. She urges him to leave her so he doesn’t get too cold and weak. She doesn’t want him to drown for no reason and remembers that he is a cop. He tries to deny it, but Lulu knows better. He eventually admits Olivia is his mother and his name is Dante Falconeri. Dante wakes her up as she starts to pass out and she asks him not to go after Sonny, reminding him that Morgan trusts him. He tells her he made himself a promise when he was Morgan’s age and that was to take Sonny down.

Michael and Morgan don’t move when Sonny tells them to come home with him. They say Carly expects them to be there when she gets back and Jax and Sonny bicker. Sonny makes it clear that Jax will not use this tragedy to stake a claim to his kids. The kids are sent upstairs as the men argue and Olivia tries to mediate. Olivia gets Sonny to reluctantly leave.

Spinelli continues his search on his laptop as Sam worries about Jason going after Claudia on his own. Spinelli wonders if he made things worse by sticking up for Claudia to Jason.

Jason bursts into a house with his gun drawn, but finds a woman and two children instead of Carly and Claudia.

Claudia tries to help a resistant Carly deliver her baby. They think the baby is in the wrong position and Carly tells Claudia to push her shoulders down, begging her to save her little girl. Claudia is reluctant out of fear of hurting the baby, but it works and the baby shifts. Claudia continues to encourage Carly to push and fight and the baby is delivered.

Jason returns to Spinelli and Sam to tell them he almost shot a woman and her two kids. Jason beats himself up for almost killing them because of his hatred for Claudia. He thinks he is no better than what he hates, but Sam insists that’s not true. They get back to work looking for Claudia and Carly and find a video of Carly in the backseat of a car. Jason and Sam head out.

After Sonny leaves, Olivia and Jax debate Sonny’s behavior. Jax blames Sonny for sending Claudia on a rampage, while Olivia defends Sonny’s right for respect from his kids.

Sonny comes home and tells Bernie to put more men on the search. Bernie assures him all their men are on it, but the storm is making it difficult. Sonny doesn’t want to hear excuses and demands that Carly and the baby be brought home safely.

Jax apologizes to the boys for arguing with Sonny. He then gets a call from the cops and when he walks away, Michael blames himself for not telling Sonny about Claudia before all this happened. Morgan doesn’t think he’s to blame, but Michael thinks Carly would be better off if it weren’t for him.

Olivia goes to Sonny’s house to keep him company and he asks if she thinks it’s his fault Carly was taken hostage. She tells him it’s on no one but Claudia. Sonny berates himself for how he dealt with his wife and then talks about his complicated history with Carly. He says he trusts Carly completely the same way he trusts her. Olivia tells him Carly will always love him, even though he is frustrating. At the end of the day she sees past his self-destruction and she agrees with Carly because he is a good man deep down. Sonny thinks the women are a lot alike and they reference their past. Sonny notes they can’t go back, but he wishes they had something they could hold on to.

Jax thinks about Carly when Morgan comes downstairs fearing Michael has left, as Michael drives to the Canadian border.

Jason and Sam drive to get to Carly and Jason suggests he take out Claudia while she takes care of Carly. Sam wonders what if Claudia killed Carly and took off with the baby.

Michael finds the car Claudia and Carly were in and runs to find his mother.

Carly hears her baby cry, as Claudia holds her. Carly asks to hold her daughter, but Claudia doesn’t acknowledge her and is only focused on the baby.

Next on General Hospital:

Michael finds Claudia and Carly.

Jax is reunited with Carly and the baby.

Johnny gets a rescue team to save Lulu.

i am so happy that the baby is safe and sound. i wish olivia would just tell sunny about dante. she really should tell dante first he has the right to know he has brothers and a sister. lulu and dante are so cute together. i just love his dimples.

What is with these women and their delusional belief that Sonny is a "good person" deep down inside? Give me a freakin' break. Olivia SAW Sonny shoot Karpov point blank with her own eyes. How soon they forget! Cold-blooded murder does not equal good person. Sonny Corinthos is nothing but a two bit thug. And the same goes for Sam - Jason IS exactly what he claims to hate so much. Both of them, Sonny and Jason, seemed (from the write up) to be haning moments of self-awareness but then the enabler women around them felt the need to dishonestly and unrealistically puff up their bruised little egos. UGH!

Olivia putting the blame on Claudia for this hostage situation is also ignoring the reality of the situation. What, exactly, would Olivia expect Claudia to do, just go willingly with Max and Milo to her own execution? Come on now. It's the same thing Olivia did when Johnny told her about his part in the hit on Sonny that got Michael shot. I guess at least Olivia's consistent.

BUT, I really CAN'T WAIT for the HARD FALL that Sonny is in for when he finds out that sweet, genuine, trustworthy Olivia (and Kate, too for that matter) kept Sonny's son a secret from him all this time. The betrayal he felt about Claudia will be nothing in comparison, since he never felt like he trusted her in the first place - different story with Olivia and Kate! Sonny deserves that and so very much more.

And, just like that, Michael finds the car his mother was in??!!? How exactly did he know what the car looked like or what direction they were even headed in? I'm very confused - and disappointed that they're going this route on Claudia's exit. It could have been so very much better...

oops - that was "having moments of self-awareness" not "haning"

Ringleader, thank you for your comments.
I have had it with the writing and the PC world revolving around Sonny and Jason. Sam, I thought you were going to make sure not to lose yourself in Jason again. Why is his job more important than yours?

I didn't think they had to make Claudia as Dark as they did, and I thought she could have been redeemed. Of all the women in recent history (except Lily), Claudia was perfect for Sonny because she comes from that lifestyle. They could have made them a Bonnie and Clyde type team, but it seems that they are bent of putting Olivia with Sonny.

Olivia who continues to lie about Dante and Kate who continues to lie with her. What makes them so great!

I don't know if I will continue to watch GH, as I have started venturing to CBS soaps. I am getting fed up with lousy writing.

are you kidding me? Claudia playing mid-wife. give me a break.what does she know about delivering a baby.
Is Carly bleeding to death on the sofa?
As far as the scenes between Dante and Lulu, I couldn't hear what they were saying with all the background noise of the water. I think I caught every 10th word.
Terrible show today

I have not seen todays episode but it looks good good Domanic/Dante is finally fessing up to someone other then olivia man she rubs me the wrong way my goodness how much more of a hypocrite can you be telling jax about sonnys rights as a father hello news flash he has another kid that you continue to keep in the dark I mean come on get real. I love the way this story line is turning out with claudia/carly micheal thing its awesome to see micheal save the day he needs a break and helping carly may give him more confidence in himself maybe even help him appreciate life and not be so angry all the time. i love domanic and lulu it was awesome of him to just sit in the freezing water with her to keep her calm. anyway write more later.

It's sure taking Johnny a long time to go for help. I would have thought that Lulu and Dante would have succumbed to hypothermia by now. I must say that their acting, chattering teeth and shudders is very realistic.

It looks as if Jason is starting to wake up to himself, and not before time, but Sonny and Jax continue to be obnoxious.

Let us hope this is the last time we have to watch Carly deliver a baby in peril. She either gets shot or kidnapped, or both. One would expect her to have got the message by now.

Really big gripe! When are the writers going to learn English grammar? I cringe daily at expressions like "Her and me are going ...." or "Me and her went there ...." along with the constant misuse of I, as in "give it to Jason and I". I would have expected the writers to have learned the rudimentary principles of English grammar by now, particularly when to say me, he, she, we and I. There is a very easy quick trick, you take out the reference to the other person and saying "Give it to me", or "I went there ...." you would not say "give it to I" or "Her went there ..." Well, I guess some people might!

As usual Ringleader you hit the nail on the head. I wanted to give Sam a smack in the mouth today when she was cheering for Jason to go right out and go on killing. She has vacillated between urging him to hold off and urging him to go do what a man's gotta do for the last few days. Now she is back to the Lady MacBeth role. Olivia is another one who does not want her son around his murderous thug of a father, yet she is telling him that he is really a good man. If I hear one more person say "It's not your fault" to someone who has just killed another or caused a serious accident, I will likely throw something through the TV set.

He is going to get what he deserves when he finds out about Dante, both being his son AND a cop. Olivia, Dante, Jax, Kate, Mac Scorpio, Patrick, Ronnie and now Lulu know. Is he going to set the Giambetti boys on all of them?

Did anyone else cringe at Sam's reply when Jason told her about almost shooting a woman and her children: "It must have been awful for you!" It was awful for me too, I nearly wretched.

Sob, I noted that Dominic Zamprogna got married two days ago. My pillow will be wet tonight!

Spoilerish

Just saw a photo purported to be of James Franco in GH, and he is dressed all in black. You know what that suggests!

Sorry Ringleader. It's just how these writers do it. Claudia was so cruel to Carly today. Keeping a child from it's mother is just mean! Ugh! I know Claudia was desperate but, come on!

***SPOILER ALERT***

Michael will kill Claudia to save Carly and his sister. They will cover the murder up.

___________________About the Others____________________

Michael: He is a hero saving his mom!

Carly: I want her to hold her little girl.

Jax & Sonny: They argue too much! :}

Olivia: ???

Johnny & Dante: They're such gentlemen to Lulu.

Lulu: She and Dante are gonna need some serious medical attention!

This episode was alright. The recap was good. Overall, it was kinda a good show today.

Thank you for your time!
