Sam is hurt by Alexis’ words, Kristina and Kiefer have sex, Dominic confides in Lulu, and Claudia has disturbing words for Johnny.
Alexis is concerned about what her younger daughters might be learning from Sam. Sam counters that Alexis micromanages Kristina and Molly’s lives, leaving no room for self-discovery. She says they feel they have to be perfect for her and maybe when they are with her, they can admit to be being human and having insecurity and fear. Sam tries to learn from her mistakes and to pass that on to her sisters. Alexis says that’s her job, but she’s scared that Kristina is struggling and she won’t talk to her. She knows Sam wants to help her, but she doesn't want Kristina to make some of the choices she made. Alexis thinks Sam is wonderful and amazing despite her disadvantages, but she wants her girls to like themselves and be able to make choices in order to have a stable relationship. Alexis knows she’s made mistakes too and doesn’t want them to emulate her choices, because she wants something better for them. She gives Sam Molly’s key back and leaves in tears.
Kiefer brings Kristina to a hotel room and promises whatever happens he won’t get mad this time. They start to kiss and move towards the bed, but Kristina is obviously nervous. Kiefer reassures her and she gets the condoms out of her purse. Kristina thinks maybe they should wait until her birth control starts kicking in, but Kiefer thinks the condoms will be enough. Kiefer makes his move, but Kristina isn’t even sure she knows how to do this. Kiefer says he’ll show her and they kiss again, but Kristina still looks unsure.
Claudia tells Jason Ian has nothing on her and to stop wasting his energy on her. She wonders why he can’t just be happy that Michael is awake and okay. Claudia tells Jason Michael wants to move on, but he won’t let him. Jason tells her he will go listen to Ian’s recordings and if he hears her voice he will come back with the enemy in sight.
A distraught Carly asks Kelly what her baby’s chances of survival are if she is born tonight. Kelly says there are steps they can take to stop her premature labor and tells her to calm down and think positive thoughts. Kelly leaves and Johnny and Coleman try to reassure Carly and Jax that everything will be alright.
After they have sex, Kiefer thinks they are really together now and Kristina says that was the whole idea. Kiefer gets a call and says he has to go pick his dad up at the airport. He’ll take her home, but they have to leave separately so no one knows there were together. He goes to take a shower and Kristina remains in bed looking distressed.
Alone with Jax, Carly expresses how scared she is. Coleman and Johnny return with ice chips and a storybook for them to read to the baby. Carly and Jax both thank them and Coleman leaves. Johnny offers to stick around in the waiting room if they need anything, but Carly tells him he should go home and sleep it off because everything will be better in the morning. As Jax comforts Carly, Johnny pensively looks back at them.
Olivia makes Dante a sandwich and tells him she’s glad he was taken off the case. Dante tells her Sonny isn’t who he thought he’d be because he’s like a regular guy. He just can’t figure out how Claudia fits in. He wonders if there is more to Claudia than meets the eye, but Olivia thinks she’s exactly what she seems and there are no boundaries as to what she can do. Olivia wonders why he cares and realizes he isn’t backing off. She begs him to forget about Sonny, but Dante talks about the guy he looked up to from his neighborhood who Sonny ordered the hit on. Olivia gets it, but it’s out of his hands now. She asks him to leave town before something bad happens. Dante just tells her he loves her and leaves.
Michael finds Kristina crying on the docks and she tells him she’s scared she’ll screw up really bad and Alexis will disconnect from her like she has from Sam. Michael wonders what’s really going on and Kristina says sometimes what she wants or thinks she wants isn't what her mom expects of her. Michael thinks that’s what life is all about: going out in the world and finding out who you are apart from your parents. Kristina thinks she has to be perfect, but this isn’t it.
Jason comes to Sam’s and asks if she was crying. She says no, but Jason knows better. She changes the subject to Claudia and he tells her what happened. Jason again asks what’s going on and Sam tells him her mother hates her and it hurts her feelings. Sam agrees with her mother and doesn’t want her sisters to make the same mistakes she did. Jason doesn’t think it’s a reason to keep them away and says she can’t let Alexis tell her how to feel. He knows she loves her sisters and is good for them. Sam really needed to hear that and they embrace. Sam points out Alexis’ hypocrisy regarding Jerry and says at least Jason has a heart. Sam then makes sure no one is in the house before they start to get intimate.
Claudia calls a motel to ask about Ian Devlin and Johnny walks in. She’s not in the mood to hear how much he hates her, but Johnny tells her he saw firsthand what it must be like to worry about losing a baby. It made him think about what she went through when she lost hers. He’s still furious with her, but she is his sister, he loves her and could never hate her. Claudia cries and embraces him. Johnny still isn’t cool with what she did to Olivia and Claudia continues to deny her role in the breakup. Claudia says he loves her and she loves him and that’s the way it will always be.
Kristina comes home and wakes Alexis up who was sleeping on the couch. Alexis asks about her birth control project and is glad she is studying it by doing research instead of experimenting with it. Alexis then tells her about Molly walking in on Sam and Jason and reminds her that Sam is significantly older than her, but she is still her sister and not her mother. Alexis asks her to come to her instead with any questions so as not to get confusing messages from Sam.
Dominic runs into Lulu on the docks and he tells her that Claudia wants to have sex with him because she is trying to get pregnant. She advises that he run, but he tells her he’s too entrenched in Sonny’s world.
Dr. Lee returns to Carly and Jax and tells them the labor stopped, but she wants to keep her overnight and hopes she carries to term because they aren’t home free just yet.
