Michael confides in Sam, Johnny comes out of surgery, Claudia is on the warpath, Nikolas and Elizabeth are drawn to each other, Ethan asks Lucky for help and Dante warns his mother he will take down both Sonny and Johnny.
After Michael makes Sam promise not to tell Jason, she agrees to meet him at his house.
Patrick tells Olivia Dante is on the mend and won’t need a transplant after all. He wishes she would reconsider keeping her secret, but she says she is only trying to protect her son. He tells her the secret will eventually come out and both Dante and Sonny will feel betrayed.
Ethan and Nikolas bicker over Rebecca and she tells Nikolas she has to stay at the hospital for Edward. Nikolas is understanding and kisses her in front of Ethan. Rebecca walks away and Ethan confronts Nikolas about his plans for Rebecca. They argue over what Rebecca has done and what Nikolas is doing to her. Ethan can’t believe everyone thinks he is the ‘good’ Cassadine and calls him the real con man in this situation.
Elizabeth is stunned after Lucky asks her to marry him. She thinks they haven’t been so successful in the past and fears they will make the same mistakes as before. She doesn't want to risk their partnership and Lucky wonders if she doesn’t love him. She tells him to never question her love for him because her life doesn’t make sense without him in it. Lucky feels the same and thinks that should tell her something. She can’t make a decision right now, but she does tell him she loves him and always will.
Spinelli sits with Johnny at Mercy hospital because GH is too busy with all the casualties from the carnival. Johnny panics upon hearing about the disastrous event, but Spinelli assures him no one close to him was injured. He also tells him Bernie is letting everyone know about him being shot, but Johnny doesn’t want Claudia to know. Johnny then asks him to have Jason protect Olivia from Claudia if he doesn’t make it and to tell Olivia he loves her. He starts to say something else about warning Jason about Claudia, but passes out.
Bernie comes to Sonny’s but he’s out, so he tells Claudia about Anthony’s attack at the warehouse and that Johnny was shot.
Ronnie comes to see Dante in the hospital and marvels at how fortuitous his saving Morgan was, since he has now earned Sonny’s trust. Jason walks in and Ronnie leaves. Jason says he owes Dominic for Morgan and tells him about Edward. Jason tells him if he ever needs anything in the future, not to hesitate in asking. Bernie comes to the room and asks to talk to Jason.
Out in the hallway, Bernie tells Jason about Johnny and Spinelli, as Dante watches through the window.
Sam meets Michael who tells her about recalling what Jax said while he was in a coma.
Claudia runs into Johnny’s room who has been taken to surgery. She lashes out at Spinelli for not telling her about her brother and asks for details on his condition. She asks who did this and Spinelli regretfully tells her Anthony was behind it. She slaps him and says if she loses Johnny she will have nothing and the entire town will feel her pain.
Olivia visits Dante who tells her he is aware of what his presence in Port Charles is costing her. Dante admits his assignment is difficult because the more time he spends with Sonny, the more he likes him. He didn’t expect that or to like his kids and Carly. Olivia isn’t surprised, but wonders what he’s going to do. Dante says he has no other choice but to do his job and take down Corinthos and the Zaccharas. It would break her heart if Sonny went to prison, but he made those life choices, however Johnny is different because of Anthony. Dante says Johnny will fall like the rest of them.
Jason comes to Mercy hospital and Spinelli fills him in on what happened. Jason won’t allow Spinelli to do another assignment for the organization because he couldn't live with himself if something happened to him. Spinelli is his friend and like his family and he will not put him in the line of fire. Spinelli reluctantly agrees and asks what Jason is going to do with Anthony. He doesn’t know, but assumes Anthony had help on the outside. They speculate on whether or not Claudia was involved and Spinelli tells Jason about his encounter with her. Spinelli also tells him that Johnny wants Jason to protect Olivia if anything should happen and there was something else, but he didn’t finish his warning. Jason assumes Johnny was saying Claudia is a threat to be dealt with.
Elizabeth comes to Wyndemere and Nikolas tells her he knows Lucky proposed, but she doesn’t look very happy. She loves Lucky, but not the way he wants. The passion isn’t there for her, but she wants Lucky to be happy so she thinks maybe she should marry him anyway. Nikolas thinks she knows the answer or else she wouldn’t be there. He suggests she tell him the truth, but she wonders if he wants her to tell Lucky she has feelings for someone else. Nikolas wants to hear her say who she has feelings for and she admits it’s him. They both know it’s wrong, but Nikolas says he can’t fight it anymore because he wants her and then passionately kisses her.
Ethan stops by to see Lucky and asks him to stop Nikolas’ plan for revenge on Rebecca. Lucky doesn’t think Nikolas would intentionally hurt Rebecca and Ethan calls him naïve.
Johnny comes out of surgery with no complications and he wakes up to Spinelli and Jason in his room. Johnny asks Jason to protect Olivia and Jason promises to do so, but wonders why he needs to protect her from Claudia.
Claudia visits Anthony in jail and he asks if Johnny is alive. She doesn’t know but accuses him of ordering the murder of his own son. Anthony says Johnny wasn’t supposed to be there, but Claudia is furious and warns that when she is done with him he will be praying for the mercy of death.
