Sonny surprises a grieving Claudia, Johnny and Dominic bond, Jax promises to keep Olivia's secret, Nikolas picnics with Lucky and Elizabeth and Jason and Sam reminisce.
Dominic explains hitting Johnny by saying he hates when men insult women. Johnny says he was paying Olivia a compliment and wasn’t talking about her prowess in bed and then hits him back. The men ice their bruises with cold beer bottles as they make peace and talk about Johnny’s past with Lulu. He tells Dominic to proceed with caution because Lulu deserves his whole respect rap and a heck of a lot more. Johnny brings up work and notes Dominic has moved from the Zacchara organization to the Corinthos in record time. Dominic insists he works for Sonny now and that Anthony can rot in jail. Dominic thinks there are people who are just as suspicious of him, but Johnny makes it clear there is no love loss between him and his father. Dominic mentions he doesn’t know who his father is.
Olivia asks Jax if she can trust him to keep quiet about Dante. Jax says of course, but notes this is a huge secret. She explains her reasons for keeping it under wraps and Jax tells her it was an honorable choice and she’s kept her child safe. He tells her as long as Dante and Sonny don’t end up on a collision course she has nothing to worry about. However, Jax suggests she come clean with Dante about Sonny, but she thinks it will put him at risk. Jax counters him not knowing puts him at more risk. She talks about Dante being a cop and how he always does the right thing even if he goes about it the wrong way. She says he and Sonny are a lot alike because they are cocky and take chances. Olivia pleads with him not to tell Carly because she would somehow end up telling Sonny and it would be a disaster. Jax promises to keep her secret, but says Carly has a way of stumbling upon the truth.
Sonny walks in the house and sees Claudia in a rocking chair that she forgot to cancel. Sonny feels bad about it and wants to call the store to pick it up, but Claudia enjoys sitting in it and remembering the day she bought it. As she happily talks about the chair, Sonny instructs her to stop it. Claudia is trying to move on, but she’s not as strong as he is. She starts to cry and says she doesn’t want to forget what they almost had, but Sonny doesn’t think it’s smart to create a shrine. She’s not doing that, she just doesn't want to forget. Claudia wants to know what kind of father he was to Michael and Morgan and he recalls reading to them and his shared love of trains with Michael. He talks about his own childhood and how he wanted to build a life for his kids where they wouldn’t have to run and hide like he did. Claudia talks about the hopes she had for their son, which included him going to college, and Sonny abruptly gets up to leave.
Lucky and Elizabeth prepare for their family picnic. Nikolas arrives and Elizabeth takes Spencer to find more appropriate clothes to wear. Lucky points out Nikolas is a little overdressed as well, but he says he is distracted. The brothers discuss Rebecca and Elizabeth comes out with Spencer in swim trunks. Nik and Liz exchange guilty glances.
Sam wakes Jason up who has broken out of his feverish state and seems to be better. Jason wants to get up because they are wasting time, but Sam instructs that he take it easy. Ignoring Sam’s concerns, Jason slowly tries to get out of bed, but has trouble, as Sam goes to get some bandages just in case.
Sam returns with supplies, noting Jason didn’t even make it to the door. Sam tells him he was talking about Hawaii, while he was delirious, and they reminisce about their time there. She assumes he hadn’t thought about it in a long time, but he tells her that’s not the case. They stroll down memory lane and Sam recalls how useless she felt while he was sick. He assures her she did everything she could for him. Jason says he was ready to die in Hawaii, it was the living like something was broken he was afraid of. He will never forget that Sam convinced him to take the chance and have the surgery.
Johnny comes to Casa Corinthos and sees Claudia in the rocking chair. She tells him about the conversation with Sonny and how he left. She assumes he went to Olivia’s and makes snide remarks. Johnny doesn't want to fight with her, but doesn’t think she can be happy with Sonny. He tells her she is holding on to something that never existed in the first place. Claudia makes more biting remarks about Olivia, but Johnny defends her saying she is real and honest. Olivia says they all have secrets, even his cougar, he just doesn’t know her whole story yet.
Carly brings Morgan to Kelly’s and finds Dominic sitting at the counter. Dominic goes to sit at a table and Carly and Mike discuss Michael and Kristina. Morgan gets some ice cream and goes to sit with Dominic. They talk baseball cards and a protective Carly comes over to sit with them. Olivia walks in, sees them and nervously drops her bag. Dominic helps Olivia and she comes over to the table. Jax comes in as Olivia and Dominic engage in a veiled conversation about mothers and sons.
Sonny returns home saying he didn’t go to see Olivia after Claudia accuses him. He hands her an envelope and she assumes it’s divorce papers. He opens the envelope which reveals papers setting up a college scholarship fund for chilren whose parents can’t afford it. Claudia is surprised it has both their names on it and asks if he wants a divorce. Sonny says no.
As the kids play, Lucky says he knows something is bothering Nikolas and is concerned he will go ‘all Cassadine’. Nikolas wants him to give him some credit, but Lucky is worried about what he might do to himself, something he might regret. Elizabeth comes out with Jake and Nikolas looks from her to Lucky and says, “I won’t.” Lucky offers to go get a cake with the boys and they leave. Elizabeth sits down with Nikolas and he notes Lucky is a good dad. Elizabeth thinks he and Spencer are getting closer, but he says it’s not easy because he felt lost when Emily died and was afraid he'd do something wrong so he pulled back. She tells him parents just have to make it up as they go along, but he doesn't know where to start and could use some help. Liz says she and Lucky are always happy to help him. It starts to rain and they run to the covered porch, where they look at each other uncomfortably.
