No matter where Lulu goes, Logan follows; Carly declares her independence from BOTH men; Alexis packs Molly's little bag.
Carly asks Sonny to come with her to file for divorce. He says that he doesn't want a divorce – he cannot lie to a judge. (Since when?) He reminds her that they have proven how much they can trust each other now. He tells her that when they were hostages, he realized that she is his whole life. And, she told him that she loved him too. They can't change that. She tells him that she doesn't want to ruin the best connection they've ever had with whatever comes next. She tells him that the divorce will be final in 6 months, with or without him. He is glad to have the time to change her mind.
Luke is curious as to what Lulu, Spinelli and Dillon are so intrigued by as they sit on Laura's couch with a laptop between them. Lulu covers quickly by telling the guys that she can't give them what they want from her. Luke jumps in to help by telling them that they are in the wrong part of town to get what they want. Lulu kicks the (bewildered) guys out and Luke sits with her and asks why she's upset. She tells him that she just needs to be alone for a little while. As he leaves, she tells him, "It's about mom." Luke stops to hear her out. She asks him what Laura ever saw in Scott Baldwin. She says that she doesn't want to make the same mistakes as Laura did – by getting involved with a "loser". Luke says that when Laura met Scott, she was younger and more naive than Lulu is. Luke says that first loves almost never work out. Lulu asks him he knew it was "real" when he met her mom. He admitted that it was definitely love at first sight. She says that she's going to see Dillon and Luke offers to drive her. After they leave, Logan comes out from the bushes in front of Laura's house.
Jax finds Jason at the Metro Court and tells him that he isn't Carly's best friend at all. He explains that Sonny pays him to look after his interests and Carly is merely one of Sonny's interests. Jax tells Jason that Carly wants to break free of Sonny yet, here she is…stuck. Where was all of Jason's "supposed" help? Jason tells Jax that Carly isn't a prisoner, but Jax thinks that he is merely Sonny's soldier and a lousy friend to Carly.
Ric and Alexis have just heard the judge's decision regarding Molly. They are both stunned. The judge reminds Alexis that infidelity isn't against the law, but possession of a controlled subject is. Afterwards, Ric is sitting in the hallway when Liz walks by. He quietly tells her that he won custody of Molly. "Isn't this what you wanted?" Liz asks. He says that he couldn't just leave her in a home where she would've been poisoned against him. He says that he and Alexis loved each other once and he never meant to hurt her. But he won't hear of offering Alexis a compromise. He tells Liz that he'll need help knowing what t o do with a baby in the house, and asks if he can call her. Just then Lucky shows up and they tell Ric that they are picking up their marriage license today. Rick is stunned.
Alexis comes home and finds Nikolas waiting for her. When he learns that she lost custody he tells her that his jet is ready. The girls and she can be in Switzerland by lunch time tomorrow. He will have a medical team ready for her cancer treatments and Sonny can visit Kristina any time. Alexis tells him that she's not going to uproot her girls just because she has lost the first round.
Spinelli is upset about Lulu's sudden dismissal in front of Luke, so he goes to Stone Cold for his guidance regarding The Blonde One. Jason is in no mood for Spinellisms, but he begrudgingly agrees to listen. Spinelli explains that he found the information that Lulu asked for, but now instead of displaying any affection, she yelled at him in front of her dad. Jason explains that Lulu found out something that she didn't want to know – that her father had a role to play in her mother's illness. Spinelli asks Jason how he can win Lulu's heart by asking how Sam won his heart. "That's easy, he trusted me," Sam (who has just arrived from NYC) says. Spinelli is giddy at her return and Jason simply asks how it went. They get rid of Spinelli and then hug and talk briefly about Alan's memorial. Jason asks her how the interview went and she tells him how weird it was that the producer kept asking her about her past.
Jax comes upon Carly who is staring out at the water. Before he can lay into her for betraying him and for falling into Sonny's trap yet again, she admits defeat. She tells him that she's stuck in a marriage that she didn't want for 6 more months, but that shouldn't matter to him since he can't trust her anyway. Jax asks her if she remembered what happened on that very spot. "You asked me to marry you," she doesn't miss a beat. He says that he's been accused of falling in love too easily. He says that he is committed to her and that he's not ready to give up. She says that she loves him and who she is when she's with her. She wonders if she can ever be who he deserves. She admits that Sonny gets to her so the next 6 months will be hard because she doesn't want to go back to Sonny and she doesn't want to hurt Jax. She walks off alone.
Alexis brings Kristina and Molly into the room with her and tries to explain that Ric misses Molly so she will go with him for a while. "You said we will always be a family," Kristina says. Soon Ric comes over and Alexis hands him a bag with enough of Molly's things to last 2 days. She asks him what he'll do when Molly cries for her mommy in the middle of the night. He tells her that they both love Molly and he'll take good care of her. Then he turns to Kristina and says that she and her mommy can visit Molly any time. He says that she is a good big sister. Alexis assures Kristina that they will always be Molly's family. As Ric takes Molly out the door, Alexis and Kristina sit down on the couch and hold each other.
Carly finds Jason at Metro Court and tells him that she needs him on her side. After his recent tongue lashing from Jax, he promises that he can do that no matter what happens next. Jax arrives later and then Sonny. She tells Jax and Sonny that she can't be with either one of them. She needs independence right now. She tearfully leaves and Jason follows her. "I guess it's time to give up," Jax and Sonny say to each other.
Dillon meets Lulu at the waterfront and she agrees to talk to Spinelli about keeping his mouth shut about Rick Webber's death. Lulu wonders if Laura wanted her to find out the truth so that she can protect her dad. Dillon suggests that maybe it's a secret mother/daughter thing that will bring her closer to her mother. Lulu likes the idea of that. "My mom didn't kill Rick Webber and Scott Baldwin did", Lulu says with confidence. Logan is lurking around eavesdropping.
Scott is talking to the judge at the courthouse and petitioning for emergency guardianship of Laura because Luke isn't suitable. Luke, who was there to pay a fine for stealing a Swat uniform during the hostage crisis, hears this and punches Scott in the face. "Would you like your loved one to be looked after by that idiot?" Scott asks the Judge.
"You're going to pay for what you did," a man's voice rings in Sam's head. Then a gunshot. She is sitting at the warehouse coffee shop trying to turn her brain off. Amelia meets her there and is grateful that Sam answered her call. It turns out that the TV station would love to do a follow-up story and let people get to know Sam a little better.
