Alan Reveals the Killer. Almost.Friday, March 02 2007 |
Scotty is nosing around as certified letter arrives from Alan, Patrick talks Robin into giving in to her grief, Maxi's puppy isn't all that's hiding in her room.

Patrick goes to Mac's house to see Robin. After a fair share of cooing, they finally get to what is really on their minds. Robin is feeling guilty for Alan's death. She said if she hadn't gotten shot, Alan might have got the medical attention that he deserved. Georgie, Maxi and Mac return home and promise Patrick that someone will always be on hand to care for Robin. There's a noise from upstairs and it came from Maxi's room! Before Mac can go investigate, Maxi explains that the broken lamp in her room probably fell over. Mac heads off to work, but promises to be back before Patrick leaves. As Robin gives him a look, Mac declares that "No guys get to sleep under my roof with any of my girls."

Lulu is happy to see Dillon at her front door, even though nothing seems to be able to cheer him up. He describes the sad scene that is playing out over at the Quartermaine's, and asks for a "Murder Mystery" distraction. Scotty arrives before they can say more. He claims that he's there to see Leslie, who has gone to the Q's with a pie. In order to cover what he and Lulu were discussing as Scotty arrived, Dillon says that his mother wants him to major in economics but he doesn't want to. Scotty asks Lulu if she likes bad boys like her mother did. Dillon and Lulu are able to engage Sonny in conversation about his adolescence with Laura. He explains how he and Laura used to sneak up to the attic to be alone. Dillon and Lulu encouraged Scott to explain how Laura ended up killing a nurse named Teresa Carter all those years ago in the attic. Scotty explains that Laura busted her step dad having an affair with the nurse. She came in on a scene in which the nurse was arguing with Rick and from Laura's point of view it looked like she was attacking him. So, Laura hit her and ended up killing her. At the time, Rick suggested that Laura shouldn't have to deal with what she had done, so he convinced Scotty to go along with drugging Laura to block her memory of it. "Until 2002 when my mom started to remember," Lulu reminded him. Scotty said that Luke is to blame for Laura's condition because he let her go off the deep end. Dillon and Lulu want him to explain, but Scott decides that it's time for him to leave.

Carly is surprised to see that Jason is hanging out at the Metro Court lobby, amidst all of the reconstruction. He tells her that his whole life changed in that room last week. He explains that Alan was waiting to talk to him but never got the chance before he died. Carly tells her dear friend that it was only natural for him to pull away from Alan after the accident. She reminded him that Alan never even tried to accept how Jason changed as a result of the head injury.

Jax goes to Sonny's office, supposedly to talk about helping Alexis with her custody hearing. Sonny says they do have a lot to talk about, but it has nothing to do with Alexis. He tells Jax that it's strange that he should finally return to Port Charles now. Before they could get too nasty with each other, Carly busts into Sonny's office to see him and the look Sonny gives Jax is priceless. Carly tells them not to fight over her and they clarify that they were talking about Alexis. She tells Sonny that Michael is acting out at school and then tells Jax that they need to go.
Maxi has gone up to her room and told Cooper to hide in the closet until the family's suspicions die down. Georgie storms in with Maxi's puppy and says that he left a little present on her rug and that she needs to take care of her own pet. After Georgie leaves the room, Cooper packs up and gets ready to leave – it's just too risky. Maxi tells him that going on the run is a big mistake.

Sam pays a visit on Father Ruiz who is recuperating in the hospital. She's there to apologize for the way she treated him when he first came to town. He understands why she reacted the way she did, given what he looks like. He sadly shares that he was convinced that he left violence behind him, but after what he did during the hostage crisis he knows that he hasn't. Sam leaves his room and finds Jason in the lobby, looking for Monica. Sam tries to comfort him about Alan, but she gets a phone call. It's a news program that wants her to fly to NYC tonight to do a follow-up story on the original footage of her after the hostage situation. Jason encourages her to go because she deserves the credit after what she was able to do to save everyone. After Sam heads to the airport, he talks to Liz. He tells her that he doesn't know how to pretend that she's NOT carrying his child.

Patrick sits back down with Robin and presses her to admit her feelings. He thinks she is in denial. He tells her that crying would be a good start; after all, he got really good at it while her life was hanging in the balance. He explains that it was harder to accept because what happened to her wasn't an accident, it was a deliberate act. Robin recalls that the gunshot felt like her stomach was burning. She says that she knew she was going into shock, and remembers leaving her body because it hurt too much. She remembers how everyone was panicking as he talked Emily through the surgery over the phone. She says that she wanted them to tell him… (She's finally starting to break down)…that if she didn't make it that she loves him so much. She remembers bits and pieces of things from after the surgery…about Alan's heart attack especially. She willed herself to get up and help out, but she just couldn't. "He was truly a gentleman. He was so good to me, and to Stone, when no one knew what to make of us." She adds that "he taught me that there is no room for prejudice or intolerance in medicine or in life." Robin is crying fully when she says that she didn't have to live and Alan didn't have to die.

Carly and Jax arrive at the Metro Court. She tells him that she wants her life back – her life with him. He's not sure he wants to do that and before they can talk further, Max shows up in his arm bandage. Jax tells him that he can't have an employee who has loyalties to Sonny, but Max quickly says that his loyalties are strictly with Mrs. C. Jax tells him that he would have to be loyal to himself as well. At that moment, Maxi comes in and asks Jax if he's hiring any more security guys and then introduces Cooper.

Sonny has picked the boys up at school and is talking to them in Carly's living room. He clarifies that if Carly wants a divorce, he can't change her mind. Michael tells Sonny that Jax and Carly haven't even talked their wedding yet, so why does Carly have to get a divorce already? Sonny tells the boys to stay out of the adult situations from now on.

After Scotty has left, Dillon explains to Lulu that Scotty's warnings about Luke are probably colored by the fact that he was jilted years ago when Laura chose Luke over him. Just then, a certified letter arrives for Luke and it's from Alan! Lulu rips it open and starts reading, "Luke if you have received this letter it's because I'm dead and I didn't want the secret who killed Rick Webber to die along with me."
Sam is sitting on her plane to NYC and encircling her bare wrist with the thumb and finger of her other hand. Then we see a close-up of a diamond watch with a TV in the background that is playing the tape of her original news program of the hostage situation.

Robin has finished her crying jag, and is curled up in Patrick's arms. She tells him that he is very smart to have encouraged her to open up. Then his cell phone rings and it's the lab with his HIV results. He doesn't want to answer it, but she convinces him to.
