General Hospital - DAILY UPDATES

Strains of 'Ave Maria' have never sounded so haunting as when they echo through the chapel as Kate walks down the aisle. Sonny beams at her, only taking his eyes away long enough to throw some smiles his father's way. Suddenly one gunshot rings out and although, everyone is alarmed, nothing seems to happen for a long pause. Kate calmly looks at Sonny, who notices the blood on her gown's bodice. She looks down at it and collapses to the ground.

Sonny yells for Jason and sends, "I'm going to kill you," ringing through the church. Olivia falls to her knees in prayer. Jason draws his gun and takes off, with Cody right behind him. Johnny covers Lulu and Jax rushes over to Carly's pew and covers her.

At the altar, Sonny, Mike and Olivia are at Kate's side. Mike calls 911. Kate struggles for breath, but tells Sonny that she should've told him years ago that she loved him. She tells Olivia that she admires her for following her heart like she should've done.

The guests are stunned. Carly is full of emotion as she thanks Jax for covering her. Diane gives Alexis an earful about how she knew this would happen, and Alexis announces that everyone needs to stay on the premises until the police can talk to them. Claudia tells Ric that no one really retires from the business and the civilians who marry them don't understand that this is part of the deal. Ric offers to take her home, but she says that she has to go somewhere.

Mike goes outside looking for anyone with a medical background and all he can come up with is Carly (and her one year of nursing school). She agrees to go back inside to see if there's anything she can do for Kate. She finds Olivia trying to compress the wound and Jason telling Sonny how to hold Kate's neck in order to keep her airways open. She and Jax take note of Sonny begging Kate not to give up and promising her that they will have the life they've always wanted together.

Cody pulls Jason aside and determines by the single shell that he found that whoever the shooter was had time for a 2nd shot but didn't take it. Jason says that means that Kate was his target. Meanwhile,Spinelli is itching to help.
"A jackal's gotta do what a jackal's gotta do," Spinelli tells Maxie. Now that she's safe, he says that he must assist Jason. He is promptly disheartened to get his assignment because it's mere 'tech support'. Maxie assures him that he saved her tonight and he's a genius in cyberspace.

After the medics have put Kate on a gurney, Sonny tells Jason that he knows who did this and that he needs to find proof. Jason assures him that he's already on it.

Sam and Lucky go over to Liz's place to pick up the boys for their trip. Everyone is cordial, until Liz tells Lucky that she's going on a trip, too, with Jason. He's angry at her for going back on her word to keep the boys' safety her first priority. Sam speaks up and says that Liz is a grown woman and he should accept her choices. The boys come out, exchange kisses with Liz and she wishes them all a good time.

Tracy has gone out to Shadybrook to visit with Lulu. She lingers outside of Laura's room for a moment and then finds Lulu's room empty. While she's off finding an orderly, Johnny slips Lulu back into the room. She is rattled by the trauma at the wedding and he feels badly for taking her out, but Lulu assures him that she wanted to go. Just then Tracy comes back and drags Johnny out of the room. She reminds him how vulnerable Lulu is and then says that she'd like him to meet somebody.

She takes him across the hall and introduces her to Laura. She calls her 'the living dead' and explains what psychomotor disassociation is and how close Lulu is to the edge. She says that she loves her stepdaughter and asks how he can risk such a thing for Lulu?

After Johnny has left, Tracy goes back over to Lulu's room. Lulu tells her that when she gets out, she will live her own life. Tracy acknowledges that, but says that she loves her. Lulu's dinner arrives, do Tracy leaves her to get some rest. When Lulu lifts the cover off of her tray all she finds is a note that reads, "You killed Logan You Should Pay."

Jax takes Carly back to The Metro Court and she wants to change before Morgan can see the blood on her gown. But Morgan and Mercedes are there. Morgan rushes into Carly's arms, while Mercedes explains that they news of the shooting on TV and Morgan thought the victim was Carly. Carly holds her terrified son while Jax looks on.

Claudia meets Karpov on the docks and tells him that he's stupid for going after Sonny's bride on her wedding day. Karpov swears that he had nothing to do with the hit.

Liz excitedly waits at airport gate for Jason to arrive. As time goes by, she starts to get nervous.

At GH, Monica tells Sonny that the bullet is lodged against Kate's spine, and it's a hollow-point bullet (the kind that does the most damage) at that. She says that they can't even operate until Kate's vitals are more stable. Then, she takes the opportunity to lecture him about all the danger that he has put people in over the years. She leaves them alone, and Sonny begs Kate to live. Olivia comes in and tells Sonny that she is more family than he is at the moment, so she should get to sit with Connie. Sonny steps out and Olivia goes to Kate's side. She promises her cousin never to tell Sonny the secret so as soon as she's well, she can have the life she wanted.

Outside Kate's room, Jason has arrived to talk to Sonny. Sonny's dimples are a distant memory as he orders that Jason send a message to Karpov loud and clear." He doesn't go anywhere near me or mine," boss man Sonny orders.

Ric walks into the Zacchara study and finds it odd to see Anthony's wheelchair empty. He looks up and sees Anthony standing behind his desk. "Looks like you caught me," Anthony says.

Next on General Hospital:

Ric gets an earful from Anthony about his plot.

Claudia informs her father and Ric that Karpov had nothing to do with the shooting.

Ric and Anthony work hard to convince her that she's wrong.

Jax makes a move to keep Carly and Morgan safe.

Jason refuses to do Sonny's dirty work.

Cam and Jake keep Sam and Lucky busy!

Liz's romantic dream doesn't come to fruition.

Lulu's condition gets worse and Johnny feels responsible.
