Olivia and Kate's dirty laundry rings louder than any church bell, Sonny's friends and family shower him with love and Kate manages to make it as far as the altar.
Nadine has been snooping around one of Karpov's boats. His goons nab her and Sasha orders them to tie her up. Nadine puts up a good struggle and suggests that they simply have her arrested for trespassing. Instead, Sasha suggests that they make her death look like an accident. Nadine, the clever little minx that she is, dials Nik's cell phone behind her back in hopes that he'll hear what's going on. She says 'I'm a good swimmer' and 'harbor' so loudly that Sasha catches on. She tosses the phone away and says that no one will even miss her. Nadine is able to remain calm and cool while Sasha threatens her life. Suddenly, Nik rushes in from behind and holds his gun to Sasha's neck. He converses with the goons in Russian and then informs Sasha that the harbor patrol is right behind him. Then he instructs Nadine to jump into the water and promises to be right behind her.
Claudia and Carly are both in the lobby of The Metro Court waiting for their designer gown from the boutique. The women practically purr with nasty joy when they realize that Kate and Sonny will have to see both of them on their wedding day. Diane, nearby frantically looking for a clutch purse, takes it all in. After Carly and Claudia disband, Diane calls Alexis to come meet her right away. When she arrives, Diane pounces on her and tells her that Sonny's women, Claudia and Carly, are both planning to ruin Kate's wedding! They vow to keep their eyes open to protect Kate.
Maxie arrives at the church and starts to panic when she can't find her couture maid-of-honor dress. Then Olivia enters the room wearing it. She introduces herself and explains that Sonny imported Kate's cousin for the maid-of-honor duty as a surprise for his bride. She apologizes for stealing Maxie's thunder, but Maxie, being the good assistant that she is, offers to help anyway.
Kate is in the sanctuary with her wedding planner admiring the flowers. When an arrangement of blood-red roses arrive, they look horribly out of place. Kate sweetly assumes they are from her groom's father and says that she wouldn't want to offend him. When she opens the card however, she notes that they are from Karpov. She has them taken to GH. Before long, Mike shows up and thanks Kate for giving his son a new reason for happiness. At the risk of wrinkling her 'pre-wedding dress', he gives her a big hug and she gladly hugs back.
Jason stops by Sonny's house to talk. Sonny says that he's the last person he expected to see today. Jason wants him to know that he's coming to the wedding because Carly begged him to escort her and he wants to make sure that she doesn't make any trouble for him. Sonny says that he planned on asking him anyway, but Max and Diane's argument interrupted him, remember? They laugh a little about their mutual friends and then shake hands. Sonny tells Jason that he's glad that he'll be there today.
Out at Shadybrook, Lulu is in a session with Lainey. Lulu is trying to co-operate, but gets frustrated when Lainey reminds Lulu that John isn't a prince who can cure her with a kiss. They agree to talk more at their next session, and Lainey leaves. The second she's gone, Johnny comes in Lulu's room dressed as an orderly. He tells her that he's taking her to Sonny's wedding and they'll have to change in the car.
Maxie rushes over to Spinelli's place and demands that she look up Olivia Falconeri, as well as Kate's family tree. It doesn't take long for him to find proof that Kate is really just Connie from Bensonhurst. Maxie is crushed that her idol is just a small-town girl who made good, but Spinelli tries to spin it that Kate is a self-made woman.
Robin stops by Sonny's house and wishes him, "luck and love and all that stuff." She apologizes that she has an emergency consultation and won't be able to come. Sonny puts a hand on her belly and asks about the baby. Robin says that Stone would be happy for both of them because they have moved on and created great lives for themselves.
When Sonny arrives at the church, he is greeted by Mike. He says that Michael would've wanted this for him. Then he tells Mike that he's glad to have him standing next to him. Ric and Claudia arrive next and Sonny comments on Ric's 'odd choice' of dates. Claudia replies with, "Congratulations on your wedding. I hope you won't die of boredom." Sonny tells Ric that Kate has hopes that they can reconnect as family and Ric shakes his hand. Diane arrives and promptly warns Sonny about Carly. Next, Alexis wishes Sonny every happiness and promptly warns him about Carly. Then Diane blurts out, "Incoming… nine o'clock!" Jason and Carly arrive and Sonny hugs them both. Jax arrives and just keeps on walking when he sees Carly in Sonny's arms.
In the back room, Olivia is starting to help Kate get dressed. They marvel at how, after twenty-five years, they are back to the plan of standing up for each other when they get married. Kate takes the opportunity to explain that she never meant to hurt anyone, but she had a dream and went after it the only way she knew how. Olivia says that if 'Con' is happy, then she is. Then she produces their Nona's necklace and says that Kate is still a Falconeri girl. Kate excitedly opens it, and then notes that it doesn't go with her dress. Olivia grows angry and says that Connie is spitting on their grandmother's grave! They get into a full-blown argument until Kate makes it perfectly clear that her clothes don't come from the mall, they are specifically made for her by her friends in Paris. Olivia tells her that her wedding will be cold and shallow just like the bride. Kate yells at her for being jealous of everything she has, including Sonny. They completely air their dirty laundry at the top of their lungs, much to the amusement of the congregation who can hear everything. Olivia challenges Kate to show that family means something to her by wearing Noni's necklace. After Kate insists that it doesn't go with her dress, Olivia calls her a coward and says that she'll wear it herself.
The music begins and Sonny walks down the aisle. He exchanges meaningful smiles with Alexis, and then Jason, as he strides toward his father waiting at the altar. Olivia, with Noni's necklace displayed proudly around her neck, follows. Once the sound of "Ave Maria" begins wafting among the flowers, Kate slowly makes her way toward her groom. She keeps her eyes steady on Sonny until she is standing before him. Before the pastor can say his first word, a shot rings out.
