On Death Row?Wednesday, September 03 2008 |
Scott succeeds in getting the death penalty tacked onto Johnny's case, Tracy returns and Coleman blogs for Patrick.

Carly comes downstairs to the smell of bacon and finds that Jax and Morgan have made all her favorites for breakfast. As Morgan goes off with Mercedes to buy school supplies, Jax assures him that he'll be home to tuck him in tonight. Carly rushes into Jax's arm and tells him their life will be perfect now. He tells her that they have come out on the other side. Then he presents her with blueprints for their dream house and explains that he still feels like a visitor in her house. He says they need more room anyway "for additional family members" and Carly simply gives him a hug.

Anthony arrives at the PCPD and tells Johnny that he looks as innocent as a newborn babe in his new suit. Johnny only wants to know where Claudia is and wants assurance that she won't say the wrong thing on the witness stand. Anthony tells him that he puts his trust in the wrong people. After he leaves, Claudia shows up and asks Johnny if he really thinks she'll stay quiet about something that could set him free? Johnny begs her to respect his wishes. Just then he is told it's time to go and Claudia says she'll be late because she has an errand to run.

Over at the Quartermaine house, Edward uses his age-old heart condition to try to get Monica to write him a letter to get him out of jury duty. Monica won't do it. Tracy returns with news that she wasn't able to find Luke and asks how Lulu is doing.

Lulu finds Laura dressed and sitting with a book on the Shadybrook grounds. She joyfully reports that she slept well and hasn't seen Logan since their talk yesterday. Laura warns her that he could come back, but Lulu says that she understands now that his presence was about her guilt, that's all. Then she thanks her mother for giving her the most profound gift in the world - her sanity back. Later, Lulu asks if she's excited to go home and Laura says that she's just happy to be in the moment for now. She excuses herself to go nap in her room and assures Lulu that she'll be back.

As soon as Lulu is alone, Tracy shows up. She asks Lulu how she is and then says that she wasn't able to track down her father. Lulu says that Johnny is in trouble because of her and Tracy assures her that Johnny's powerful family will take care of him.

Jason pays Spinelli a visit at GH and runs into Liz. Spinelli picks up on some tension between them and apologizes if it is because of him. Liz tells him to focus on his recovery and then leaves his room. Maxie rushes in soon after and informs Spinelli and Jason that she has been subpoenaed in Johnny's trial and she'd rather be shot dead than wear an orange jumpsuit the rest of her life. Spinelli tells her that she's under Jason's protection and Maxie asks Jason if he'll put a horse's head on Scott Baldwin's pillow to get her out of testifying? Jason tells her to get on the stand and tell the same story that she has several times already. Maxie worries that her internal editor will fly out the window when she's nervous.

Clarice frantically knocks on Jason's office door and Cody asks what she's doing. She tells him that she needs to get in touch with Kate Howard down on Sonny's island. Cody tells her that Mr. Morgan and Mr. Corinthos don't do business any more so she should go through Max to reach Sonny. Clarice says that won't do and she'll have to find another way.

Anna visits Robin at work and gets a cold shoulder because of the blog she did for Patrick. Anna says that she didn't like the idea, but she did mean every word that she said. Just then Patrick joins them and opens his laptop to show Robin another testimonial. This time it's Coleman. He talks about Patrick wanting a little woman to come home to and asks Robin what's not to love about a handsome, loaded neurosurgeon? He tells her to stop stringing him along and say yes already. They all get a laugh at his plea and Patrick says that he has Mac and Maxie ready to blog next.

Over at the nurse's desk, Nadine is excitedly telling Leyla about her romantic evening with Nik. When he comes in and acts as if it's just another day, her confidence in shaken a bit. Later she asks Liz if having a romantic evening is no big deal to someone like Nikolas and from behind her Nik says that's not true at all. He tells Nadine that he enjoys her company and hopes they can do it again soon.

Jason goes back to his office and tells Cody that whoever hit Spinelli will pay. Carly barges in full of the good news about her reconciliation with Jax. She tells Jason that she's glad her secret remained safe about Sonny and they can all be happy now.

Jax calls Alexis over to the house and tells her that his marriage is back on track. Then he tells her about the property he put a bid on and asks her to handle the legalities for him. Alexis tells him that she can't participate in getting his heart broken again.

Max and Diane are over at Sonny's house awaiting Sonny and Kate's return. Diane is doing her best to convince Max to tell Kate about Sonny's indiscretion. Max argues by asking if she'll feed him when he's on the unemployment line. Before they can get any farther, Clarice shows up and asks for Kate.

Ric and Scott are in the courtroom, along with Johnny, during the jury selection process. Epiphany is among the potential jurors and promises her complete objectivity. She is selected by both the prosecution as well as the defense. When Edward is called, he states his belief that he could never be a juror in this case because it would be a financial hardship on his family if he missed work. Scott objects and the court makes him admit that he made 100 million dollars in interest last year. Edward adds that he's biased against Johnny anyway. Scott accepts him unto the jury and Ric whispers to Johnny that Edward isn't likely to hurt Lulu by putting him away so they won't object. Before long, Tracy arrives in the courtroom and gets a good laugh when she sees her father on the jury. Alan pops up next to her and they agree how delicious it is to see the old man trapped among ordinary folks day after day. Tracy adds that Edward already thinks that Johnny is guilty, so at least he's good for something.

As Johnny's trial gets underway, the judge announces that this will be a death penalty case. Ric jumps to his feet and reminds the court that Logan Hayes was not a police officer. "The victim was a police officer and I can prove it," Scotty tells the court.
