Patrick's instincts are proven wrong, Spinelli's stealthness is proven nonexistent and Nikolas hatches a plan.
Patrick and Robin are having breakfast together. Patrick is in a good mood because today is the day they find out that they're going to have a boy. Robin calls him macho and asks if he really cares if they have a boy? Patrick says that having a boy would be a good "do over" for him and a chance to change the course of the father-son history in his family. Robin understands, but says all she cares about is the baby's health and happiness. Patrick assures her that he will be happy regardless of the baby's gender.
Claudia is out for a run when she runs into Nikolas. They sit on a bench and talk for a while. Nik reports that he spoke with Laura's doctor about her mental state prior to slipping into catatonia. He tells Claudia that Laura lost her place in time but didn't seem to hallucinate. Nik doesn't see a connection to what's likely going on with Lulu because it was Luke who made Laura face the reality of the murder she committed. But still, he says, "If Johnny really wants to help Lulu, he needs to do it before it's too late." Before they can talk further, Anthony calls Claudia and tells her to come visit him at his newly restored house.
Alexis calls Maxie into her office to see if she knows anything about Logan's murder case. Maxie says that she already gave a statement to Mac, but will do it again. Alexis listens closely to her well-rehearsed, yet rambling, story. After Maxie finishes, Alexis says there must be something she's not telling them because why else would she have visited Johnny in lockup? Maxie confesses to coming on to the guy and it was the only chance she had without Lulu attached to his hip.
Nik interrupts their meeting and says that he has to talk to Alexis about Lulu. Alexis lets Maxie go so that she can hear what he has to say. Nik says that he wants to talk to her as his aunt, not as the D.A. and asks for her word that what he says is confidential. Alexis begrudgingly agrees. Nik says that he's heard word that Lulu is having mental problems and he needs Alexis to get them home without ramifications. She'd have to turn herself in, Alexis says. She'll face "accomplice after the fact" and "obstruction of justice charges", unless she was committed for a psychiatric evaluation first, Alexis tells him.
Over at Jason's office, Jason tells Cody that he was ambushed last night right after Karpov's shipment came in. As the two men start to discuss possible scenarios, Spinelli comes in with the snacks needed for this afternoon's stakeout with Jason. Cody and Jason exchange glances, and Cody leaves. Jason tells Spinelli that he values his work…his computer work. Spinelli can't help but to whine about wanting to prove himself in another area. He says that when he returned the PDA last night he was busted and Maximista had to rescue him. Jason says that he saved Carly by returning that PDA and he owes him for it. Spinelli isn't interested in gratitude, he wants Maxie to see him as a man and perhaps make sweet love to him for a real reason instead of as a cover story. Jason gives in and says they can start the stakeout right away.
At GH, Liz is ordering labs for Matt. He offers her a chance to blast him for being an egomaniac but Liz says he'll find that out on his own at some point. Robin and Patrick come up to the desk and Liz greets them with, "Big day…dump trucks or dollies?" Liz says that she had a feeling about the baby's sex in both of her pregnancies and Robin admits to having one too. Just then Matt reports that a head trauma is coming in and Patrick needs to scrub in. Robin tells him to go and that she'll be fine.
Robin calls Maxie to hang out with her during the ultra sound. Maxie is happy to be included and tries to ease Robin's fears about the health of her baby. Later, when they are finally getting ready to start the ultrasound, Patrick returns. Maxie leaves them alone and Kelly gets started. She points out the good position of the baby and then the head, hands and feet. Then she says that they are having a little girl.
Anthony is in a good mood now that he's back in his house. Trevor, however, is surly and Anthony says that he's acting like the man whose son is MIA. Anthony says that he took care of Johnny his entire life and he's not turning on him now. Anthony asks what he has in mind? Trevor explains that Johnny loves Lulu and the only way he'll come out of the woodwork is if they get the message to him that they will protect her too. When Claudia arrives, Anthony tells her it's time to earn her keep. Anthony says that she screwed John's life up by making a mess of things the night he killed Logan. Claudia holds to her story that she doesn't know where her brother is or even if he's alive. Anthony says that the boy would come back if he thought his sister's life depended on it. Claudia tells them that John is with the woman he loves and won't come home because it would put her in danger. Unless they can convince him Lulu won't be shot at, he won't show, Claudia says on her way out the door.
"Gunpowder makes me sneeze." Spinelli admits as soon as he and Jason are tucked away in their car watching Karpov's docks. Jason tells him that guns don't make a man but Spinelli doesn’t look convinced. Sweat is starting to drip off of his nose and his voice sounds more parched the longer they sit there. Finally Jason points out some activity on the docks and Spinelli's head drops to the steering while where the horn is.
Trevor goes to Alexis and tells her that when the family locates Johnny he will come back and turn himself in. Alexis tells him that Johnny's fleeing makes a successful self defense plea less likely. Trevor reminds her about the chaos of the Black & White ball due to Anthony's madness. A madness, he threatens, that would likely return if the man lost his son.
Claudia goes to Nik at Wyndemere and reports that Anthony and Trevor will likely find John and Lulu first. Nik says that he went to Alexis. Either Lulu will go to jail or be committed and neither is acceptable, he tells her. Then he says that he's already found another way. He says that he's made plans for new identities and is prepared to get them out of the country. He tells Claudia to spread the word to them when John calls. Claudia isn't sure if she can trust him but Nik points out that in order to save their siblings they have to trust each other now.
Alexis has a date to meet Viola and Kristina in the park. (Ric has just taken Molly on vacation.) When she gets there she finds Anthony holding her daughter's doll and playing with her.
