Lulu's hallucinations are getting more horrid every day, Claudia goes to Nik for answers and Jerry fears that he's losing his touch.
Lulu is shrieking in horror as Logan approaches her with her birthday cake. After she finally realizes that it's Johnny, she hyperventilates as she tries to explain that she is truly losing her mind. Johnny says that he'll be with her and nothing will happen to her, but Lulu reminds him that Luke was with Laura when she ultimately lost her mind.
Back in Port Charles Nadine has just planted a big kiss on Nikolas out at Wyndemere. He pulls away and starts "the friendship speech" but Nadine stops him because she doesn't want to hear it. She apologizes for kissing him but asks when he will be ready to open himself up to a new life without Emily. Nikolas tries to talk, but she assures him that it won't happen again. As she rushes out, she realizes that Liz has been watching the whole thing.
Liz comes into the room and tells Nikolas that Nadine is falling in love with him. Nik merely grunts in response, so Liz explains that she came out because it's Lulu's birthday and she didn't want him to be alone. He says that he has been so blinded by thoughts of Emily that he didn't even see what was going on with Nadine. He says that Nadine is beautiful and quirky and he is even attracted to her, but if he got involved he'd be using her to get over his grief. Liz reminds him that when she thought Lucky was dead she started her recovery by trusting Jason and then confiding in him. As she starts to say that Emily would want him to love again, Nik says that he doesn't know if he wants to feel anything. He kisses her and thanks her for being his friend, as well as Emily's. Nadine has come back to the doorway and seen the kiss, but rushes away unnoticed.
"Honor the terms of our deal and no one has to lose," Karpov tells Sonny on Pier 52. He says that if Sonny goes back on his word, he'll regret it. Sonny wants to end it peacefully and walk away. Karpov leaves, but his message lingers, "I'm a bad man to double cross."
Also along the waterfront, Jerry has fired a shot and Jason tells Carly and Claudia to stop bickering and shut up. He wants them to run for the alley as soon as he returns fire. Claudia hates relying on Jason, but ultimately runs when he starts shooting. They all make it safely to the alley and Carly accuses Claudia of setting up the hit on Jason. Claudia explains her presence in the area by saying that since Johnny dropped the Mayor's car off down here she's been looking around for clues.
Spinelli is still in danger however. Sasha's goons have him pinned and Maxie is scrambling for a story that will get them to drop their clutch. Sasha asks what the police commissioner's daughter is doing here and Maxie says, "Sex! Hot steamy sex. The kind you can only have against a hard warehouse wall in the moonlight." As if to prove her point, Maxie starts making out with Spinelli and Sasha and her goons leave in astonishment.
As soon as they're in the clear, Maxie and Spinelli rush back to the office. She profusely apologizes for making up the lie about their sex life and promises to stop trampling all over his feelings. Spinelli thanks her for her quick thinking but is upset that Jackal PI has thus far been unable to be the hero. Jason and Carly return to the office and hear what happened to Maxie and Spinelli. Jason tells Carly that if she goes near Karpov again he'll drag her down to Sonny's island and lock her up. Jason kicks the women out and Spinelli pounds on the desk and declares that it's time for him to man up.
Sonny goes over to Kate's house. She asks how it went with Mike and Sonny says that his father is worried that his addiction to power will draw him back into the business. He admits that he did enjoy the power but it cost him too much. He tells Kate that she means everything to him. Satisfied with his answer, Kate asks if he's really comfortable with the size of the wedding she's planning. Once again he tells her that he wants her to have the wedding of her dreams on September 26th. She rushes off to get sample menus and while she's out of the room Diane comes in. She accuses Sonny of putting Max at risk. Kate returns and asks why Max is at risk? Diane covers by saying that Max works far too many hours and Kate tells Sonny that Max deserves a personal life.
Back in New York, the second that Lulu goes for a bath, Johnny calls Claudia. He hurriedly asks her to check with Nikolas about Laura's illness and find out if she ever suffered hallucinations. Then he joins Lulu in the bathroom and softly talks to her. She tells him that she'll eventually slip into her mind and won't be able to get out. Johnny tells her that she suffered trauma and is in shock. Lulu asks him to tell her that he loves her and he gladly obliges.
Nadine goes to the hospital and dumps her anguish all over Leyla. She says that she finally kissed Nikolas but it will be the last time. She explains how platonic Nikolas's feelings are for her but he managed to turn around and kiss another girl about five minutes later. Leyla says that means he's available and ready to move on, that's all. She advises Nadine to be the woman to catch him.
Claudia rushes out to Wyndemere to tell Nikolas about Johnny's phone call. She asks whether Lulu has ever hallucinated before and Nik yells that he's not going to loose his sister this way. He tells Claudia about Laura's life and ultimately how she ended up in catatonia. Claudia says that it sounds like Lulu needs more help than Johnny can give her.
Jerry reports to Karpov and says that he might be losing his touch because Jason is proving to be very hard to eliminate.
Carly shows up at The Metro Court and gets in Marty's face for ratting her out to Jason.
He says that he couldn't just stand around and watch her endanger herself. She tells him not to do it again and orders him to send another bottle of vodka to Karpov with the note "I'm sorry we were interrupted."
Spinelli and Jason are researching the bullet casing that Jason retrieved from Pier 52. Spinelli finds that it's Russian and suggests that perhaps Carly was right that the hit was put out by Karpov. Jason points out that means Sonny was involved and he's not ready to retaliate just yet. Spinelli understands and suggests a stakeout.

Trevor warns Alexis to come up with a way to get Johnny off the hook.
Alexis tells Nikolas that Lulu's only defense will be mental illness.
Nik tells Claudia that he has a plan to get Johnny and Lulu out of the country.
Anthony finds Kristina in the park and strikes up a conversation with her, much to Alexis's horror.
Robin and Patrick find out their baby's gender.
