Jason Hires a New Right-Hand Man. Monday, August 04 2008

Sonny is hurt by Jason's accusations, Jason prepares himself for battle and Sam is highly suspicious of Jerry.

In Manhattan, a tender little hug turns terrifying in an instant when Lulu sees Logan standing before her with a knife in his gut. Johnny insists that she tell him what's wrong so she tells Johnny to look! When she can see that Johnny doesn't see a thing, she pretends that she saw a rat. She breathlessly tells him that they need to move on because Lourdes has blown their cover anyway. Johnny asks her what's really going on and Lulu breaks down and tells him about her hallucinations. She says that Logan was right when he told her that she'd never get over him because she can't get him out of her head. Johnny tells her that what she's going through is natural.

As he comforts her, Lourdes comes to the door to ask if Johnny will help Sal move something. Lulu insists that Johnny go and the second she's alone she hears Logan's voice. When Johnny returns, she's nowhere to be found.

Along the Port Charles waterfront, Jerry asks Sam what she's doing down there. They each do the "I'm not doing anything" dance and then he plays the "I'm dating your mother card." Sam tells him that is simply a cover and Jerry doesn't completely deny it. He clarifies that Alexis's determination not to sleep with him made her too enticing and the same can be said for Sam.

As Sonny and Kate return home, they are surprised to see Jason waiting for them. Kate coolly chastises him for not being around much since he and Sonny stopped working together and reminds him that friends don't leave each other's lives. After she steps out, Jason asks Sonny if he's working for Karpov. Sonny tells Jason that he is, but would like to tell him why. He goes into the litany of things that he has done for Jason and asks why anything would change now? Jason says if he thinks he is protecting him, he isn't. He tells Sonny to just say the word and he can have the business back, but if not, he should stay out of Jason's way. Sonny is deeply disappointed that Jason won't give him the benefit of the doubt. For his part, Jason is disappointed because Sonny didn't come to him the moment Karpov contacted him.

At GH, Patrick tells Robin how hot she looks when she's carrying his child. They decide to take a little break in the supply closet but find that it's occupied - by Noah and Anna. The foursome has a little conversation in which Anna and Noah explain that they are adults. Robin asks for a moment alone with her mother and then asks if she is really attracted to Noah or does she still want Eli? Anna says that the "worthless detour" she took with Eli took time away from getting to know Noah. They talk it out and ultimately Robin gives Anna her blessing.

Meanwhile Noah tells Patrick to lay it on him. Patrick says that Anna is amazing, but she's independent and he worries about Noah's sobriety. Noah says that his sobriety is his to deal with and he still chooses to spend time with Anna. They both smile and laugh at one of their first somewhat normal father and daughter talks.

Over at the free clinic, Nadine, backed up by Leyla, tells Nik that she is free to do what she wants with her free time. Nik tells her that she isn't a cop or a P.I. and he'll tell Mac Scorpio that she's about to break into his place if he has to. After he walks away, Leyla asks Nadine if she's going to back off the Matt thing. Nope.

Carly shows up at the clinic to ask Nik if he's heard from Lulu. Nik tells her that he's clinging to the "no news is good news" theory, but he's worried about Lulu's fragile emotional state of late. As they talk, Kate shows up to offer financial support for the clinic and Nik is way happier to see her than Carly is. Nik takes a phone call and leaves the two of them alone. Carly doesn't waste a second to tell Kate that she and Jax will work things out. She leaves, but first issues a threat to Miss Howard, "I'm comin' after you."

Sam goes to Nik's clinic and reports her theory that Jerry Jacks is their suspect. Nik's first reaction is that he's happy she didn't name Matt Hunter. Then he asks for details. Sam says that Jerry didn't come clean about his presence on the waterfront and he also pretty much admitted to using Alexis. Nik wants more tangible proof and Sam reminds him that Jerry injected him with poisonous drugs not that long ago.

Nadine and Leyla make it over to the Scorpio house. Leyla voices her concerns that this little Nancy Drew act is just to get Nik's attention. Nadine reminds her that she is trying to bust a drug smuggler. Regardless, they go ahead with their plan and Leyla rings the bell. She strikes up a conversation with Maxie about Spinelli while Nadine crawls into Matt's room through a window.

After Jason is back in his office, Cody shows up with photos of Karpov at Sonny's front door. Jason looks at them and asks Cody if he expects to be paid, or is Karpov footing the bill in order to turn him against Sonny. Cody explains that he was simply following Karpov to prove to himself that he could still pull off an operation. Somewhat satisfied with the response, Jason asks if he can pull off a hit and Cody says that's not what they called it in Iraq. Jason says that he has a job opening for someone he can trust. He explains that he needs someone to provide security for his accountant, do some deliveries…stuff like that to start out. He refers to it as a trial period and Cody is happy for the opportunity.

Kate returns back to Sonny's house with a cannoli for each of them. Without wasting time on chit chat, she asks why Jason was there earlier and says if Jason wants to give the business back that's a really bad idea. Sonny says that Jason thinks he is working against him but he'd never do that. Kate can see that Sonny is hurt, and Sonny says that he's done with the business and his life is with her. He hugs her like a child holds a teddy bear.

Jason goes straight to Carly. He tells her that Sonny is working with a Russian mobster and Carly quickly surmises that means Sonny is working against him.

Carly advises Jason on what he might have to do where Sonny's concerned.

Jason meets with Karpov.

Lulu pays her mother a visit, while Johnny worries about her whereabouts.

Maxie busts Nadine in Matt's bedroom.

Scott is banned from visiting Laura.

Maxie finagles her way into Spinelli's research on Karpov.
