Anna Takes the Blame. Tuesday, July 01 2008

Robin can't believe her mother is siding with Patrick, Johnny can't believe his sister has kept him in the dark and Jerry brings Alexis in on his secret.

At the GH nurses' desk, Robin can't believe her ears when Anna tells Diane that she would testify against her daughter in court in favor of Patrick's rights as a father. Anna tells Robin that her own childhood shouldn't color her view of parenthood and that she has a wonderful man who is ready to be a father. Diane says that Patrick can withdraw the petition any time he wants to. Patrick asks what kind of father he would be if he didn't fight to see his child?

"Is there a chance that Sonny could be the father of this baby?" Jax asks his wife. She tells him that there is no baby and he takes her in his arms. She explains that she finally took a test so that she could take better care of herself if they had a miracle. Jax apologizes for telling everyone prematurely and Carly asks for just a little more time before they try again. Jax feels as if he let her down by not only being absent when Michael was shot, for criticizing her for leaning on Jason. Carly takes her share of the blame for being distant lately. He tells her about Sonny's warning and she brushes it off.

On the waterfront, Jerry is staring down the barrel of Johnny's gun. He tells Johnny that the whole world will know that Claudia is responsible for Michael's shooting if anything happens to him. Johnny wonders how he knows and he informs him about Claudia trying to hire him in the first place. Claudia steps in and urges Johnny not to shoot because there's an affidavit on file that names her in setting the whole thing up. She says that she wants him dead too, but it's not an option at this point. Jerry tells them to get their father under control or he will. Johnny tells Jerry that he can keep breathing…for now.

Sonny and Jason are standing in the penthouse doorway talking about Carly. Jason confirms that he hasn't slept with her since the first summer he met her. Satisfied with his answer, Sonny confesses to sleeping with Carly recently. Jason suggests that he stop worrying about Carly and focus on Kate. Sonny asks if he blames him for trying to find some happiness after losing Michael. Jason says that they are all dealing in their own way. Sonny laments about how Carly had sex with him and then handed him court papers the next second. He tells Jason that he'll never understand why he helped Carly take his boys away from him.

Ric shows up at Crimson to talk to Kate about Sonny. He says that there's a lot of tension between Sonny and the Zacchara family now and he wants her to keep Sonny from getting drawn in. Kate asks him to talk to Sonny on his own so that she can stay out of it.

Robin calls Alexis over to her apartment to ask her about Patrick's rights. Alexis looks at the petition that Diane drew up and warns that Robin is on a slippery slope. From one single mother to another, she advises Robin to encourage her relationship with her baby's father, not alienate him. She offers to put on her lawyer's hat however if she wants to proceed.

After Alexis is gone, Anna comes over to talk. She says that since she kept Robin's father away for the first six years of her life, it likely made her feel as if a father isn't important. Robin assures her that this is about Patrick's affirmation that he never wanted children until a few months ago. Anna tells Robin that fear is clouding her judgment. "Patrick wants to be with you, why won't you let him?" Anna wisely asks. Later Patrick drops by while Robin is napping. Anna says that she is to blame for Robin's emotional shortcomings where trust is concern. She adds that she'll feel worse if she's wrong about him. Patrick assures her that she's not.

Ric goes over to Sonny's house and admits that he went to Kate first but she refused to get involved. He fills Sonny in on Anthony's threat to Alexis about Kristina, but he was only doing so to get Johnny released from the PCPD. He assures Sonny that it was an empty threat and Sonny asks why he's here then? Ric says that he doesn't want him drawn back into the business, that's all. He says that he won't let harm come to either of Alexis's girls. He tells Sonny that he did the right thing by getting out and he should focus on being happy now.

Johnny and Claudia are arguing as they return back to their penthouse. Johnny is angry that she didn't tell him that Jerry was involved with Ian on Michael's shooting. Claudia says that Jerry is lethal, that's why. To prove her point, she admits that Jerry was the person who stabbed her and left her for dead. Johnny is furious and wishes he would've killed him. Claudia says that they're all just covering their butts now and that makes them allies. Johnny isn't buying it. Claudia says they'll find a different way to get out from under Jerry. Johnny insists that she admit it if anyone else knows that she was involved in the shooting.

Liz finds Spinelli wheeling around the 2nd floor by himself. He explains that he just underwent a battery of tests and grew weary waiting for the "orderly one". He tries his best to clarify his earlier comments regarding Stone Cold and the Vixenlla and Liz tells him to shut up or she'll sedate him. Spinelli persists and clarifies that Stone Cold doesn't trust or like Claudia at all, in fact they are pretty much antagonists. Jason shows up and urges Spinelli to stop! Liz says that this has nothing to do with her anyway.

Jax arrives at Crimson to go over Kate's projected budget. They agree not to argue about Carly or Sonny today and Jax informs her that Carly's not pregnant after all. After he leaves, Kate goes out to the foyer and orders her assistants not to let anyone in her office without notifying her first. For example, she doesn't want Jax to run into Sonny and vise versa. The second she goes back into her office Carly barges in. She advises Kate to be smarter than Brenda was. "Don't walk down the aisle until you actually see Sonny there," she warns.

Alexis meets with Jerry and tells him that she hopes he didn't actually kill Anthony's son because she doesn't want anyone's blood on her hands. Jerry assures her that no one died, yet. Then he hands her an "insurance policy" in case anything happens to him.
