Sonny kisses Carly, Jax dances with Kate and Nikolas takes Claudia in his arms.
Jax and Kate are on the private plane en route to Manhattan. They mention that they are above the storm and wonder if Michael's ambulance made it alright. Kate decides to go ahead and tell Jax that she spent Crimson money on trying to keep Ian Devlin from returning to Port Charles. Jax listens quietly as Kate says Spinelli was able to put the money back into Crimson's account in the end. She tells him that's why Sonny is done with her and that he, too, has every right to terminate his dealings with her.
Out at the Zacchara mansion, Anthony tells Johnny that he wants him and Claudia to stay home tonight because a storm is coming. Johnny says he's not going anywhere, but he doesn't know his sister's plans. AZ tells Johnny that he knows Claudia hired the shooter to take out Corinthos and that was sloppy. Johnny denies it, so AZ decides to call it "one hell of a coincidence" because Ian Devlin has been to the house twice. Johnny explains that the doctor just wanted to hit on Claudia that's all. Trevor walks in and AZ asks if there's any proof that Claudia was behind the shooting of Sonny's brat? Trevor, happy to have the chance to incriminate Claudia, says that he thinks Anthony is correct. Johnny warns his father not to fall for Trevor's lies and Anthony tells him that the time will come when he might want to protect someone even more than his sister.
After Johnny leaves the room, Trevor tells Anthony that Devlin could've acted on his own and advises him to let it go. Then they talk about how to keep Johnny under their control and Anthony says he grows weary of always threatening his daughter to do so. "Enter Lulu Spencer," Trevor says and they clink glasses.
Out on the waterfront, Claudia is able to curse at Jerry in spite of her pain and Jerry tells her that her beloved brother will be better off without her. He looks as if he plans to finish the job by slashing her throat but he hears footsteps so he quickly pushes her off the docks into the water with his foot. Alexis approaches and asks him what he's up to. He asks why she always thinks the worst of him and she asks what the splash was. He admits to tossing a bad sandwich overboard and offers his wrists for her handcuffs. Alexis tells him that he's such a good liar that it's hard to tell. Jerry offers to walk her to her car because she shouldn't be out here in the dark.
Jason is still in Michael's room when he and his parents arrive from Port Charles. Carly asks him to stay while they get Michael settled. After the monitors are hooked up and they hear that Michael is stable, Jason starts to leave, but Carly asks him to say goodbye to Michael. Jason reluctantly sits and tells Michael that he's thankful for every day he had with him. He tries to hold back his tears, but ultimately they fall. He says a quick goodbye and briskly walks past Sonny and Carly.
Sonny goes in the room and tells Michael that Carly will visit a lot, but he doesn't know if he will because it seems as if he's gone someplace and can’t be reached. Then Sonny recalls how Michael always made him laugh. "Where ever you are, I want you to know… (He breaks up and can't finish)." He regains his composure and recalls that the last words Michael said to him were "I love you, Dad." Sonny asks Carly if she's ready to go, and she tells Michael she'll be back in a few days and that she knows he'll find the courage and strength to come back to her. "I will never, ever give up on you," she says through her tears.
Nikolas receives a warm welcome from the Wyndemere staff and his son. He tells Spencer that he is healthy and they will have a long life together. After Spencer goes to bed, Lulu comes over to check in on him, but she has an ulterior motive. She asks him how he knew his feelings for Emily were different from any of the other loves in his life. She says that she can't stop thinking about a guy and Nikolas says if she's talking about Johnny Zacchara she should run in the other direction. Lulu doesn't want to hear that, she wants to know how Nik knew Emily was the one. Nik is only too happy to tell the story.
Lucky shows up at the GH nurses' desk and Liz is glad to see him. She asks if he can keep Jake tonight because she needs to take Cam to a friend's house and she'd rather not drive Jake around if she doesn't have to. Lucky says he has plans with Sam but he'll gladly cancel them so he can spend time with his son.
Kate and Jax arrive at the fundraiser and Giselle, Kate's rival at Couture, quickly greets them and takes subtle digs at Crimson. Warren pulls Kate aside and tells her that if Crimson fails, there will always be a place for her at Couture. Then Jax whisks her away for a spin on the dance floor.
Johnny and Lulu meet at "their place" and Johnny tells her about the threat Anthony made against her earlier. He's all worked up and says it's too risky for them to be together. Lulu reminds him that they are trying to get enough evidence against his father to get rid of him and they have to proceed. Lulu tells him that she trusts him and proceeds to show him how much.
Liz has dropped Cam off at his friend's house and is driving back to Port Charles in the storm when she gets a flat tire. She gets out of the car and ends up locking herself out. As luck would have it, Jason is out for a bike ride and comes upon her. They hug hello and as he starts to work on her car window he breaks down in tears.
Sonny and Carly are in the limo on their way back to Port Charles. Sonny starts talking about the first Christmas they had together and how far overboard Santa went. Carly recalls the first time Sonny took Michael on a boat ride from their private island. Then they chuckle as they remember all the times Michael tried to keep them together. The mood changes as Carly panics and says they need to go back and get Michael. She says that he's scared and alone and she didn't want to leave him. Sonny pulls her into his arms and strokes her hair to calm her down. She turns her head to look in his eyes and they find themselves kissing.
The storm is in full force and Nikolas tells Alfred that he's going outside. As he walks the grounds near the launch ramp he thinks he sees Emily. Claudia can't believe her eyes when he appears and takes her in his arms.
