Lulu vows to out maneuver Maxi, Ric tells Anthony of his scheme and Claudia decides when Sonny will die.
Spinelli has thrown himself into his most recent assignment (spying on Sonny for Jason). He's watching as Claudia sips her martini at the Metro Court bar with Sonny - who refuses to drink with her. She calls Kate a "stick figure" with a head on it and Sonny tells her that she's threatened by his girlfriend. As they talk, Sonny takes a quick phone call and discusses a meeting at the warehouse on Friday. Johnny shows up and tells Sonny to stay away from his sister. He says that their truce will remain in tact but only if Sonny stays away. Sonny agrees with Johnny and tells Claudia to stay away from him and Kate. Sonny leaves (followed by Spinelli, of course.)
Johnny sits with Claudia and she tells him that Sonny just gave her the info she needs to destroy him. She says that she's going to let Johnny keep his hands clean, that's why she went to Kate's tonight - to lure Sonny to meet her. Johnny wants details, but Claudia wants him to be left in the dark for his own safety. Johnny doesn't like the idea because if the hit doesn't go as planned, she'll get hurt. Claudia's as confident as ever.
Over at Kate's, Jax reminds Carly that the magazine isn't his and he can't dictate who Kate hires. Maxie insults Lulu's taste in clothing and says that the job is already taken. Jax asks if Lulu even wants the job and then offers her a loan if she needs one. Lulu steps up and tells Miss Howard that she has business and marketing classes behind her and presents a good case. Impressed, Kate says that Lulu can have a chance "…as 2nd assistant." Jax and Carly leave and Kate gives the girls their assignments and then takes a call upstairs. Maxie proceeds to give the grunt tasks to Lulu. When Lulu goes to Kate with it, Kate says it's not her problem. She says that in fashion, fair doesn't come into the equation. Lulu comes out of the altercation determined to rise to the occasion and prove herself in this unfamiliar world that Maxie seems to thrive in.
"Since when do you balk at murder?" Ian asks Jerry during their waterfront meeting. Before he can answer, Alexis walks up and asks the two men how they know each other. Jerry says he was simply inquiring about her nephew's condition and Dr. Devlin, grateful for the lie, leaves. Jerry tells her that he's a bit worried that the drugs he gave Nikolas might have something to do with his illness and if that's true, he'll never have a chance to romance her. She tells him that she's never heard one word of regret for his awful actions and that would be a start. He reminds her that you can't unring a bell, however he is trying to reprioritize his life for the right reasons. She tells him that she is not rescuing another bad boy. He kisses her in the middle of her proclamation and then tells her that she liked that as much as he did. She can't deny it, but says that she's only human.
Ric is out at Shady Brook explaining his plan to Anthony. He tells the old man that the court will find that he was mentally incompetent during the B&W ball but is able to face trial now. Ric tells Anthony that he can come up with enough evidence to get him acquitted. Anthony asks what it's going to cost him, Ric says, "Once I get you free of this place, we're going to destroy my father." Anthony doesn’t seem to mind that idea at all.
Robin is having a good cry at home when Patrick shows up. Turns out she's upset because she can't find any of her old toys and wants to be able to offer her "muffin" a sense of history. Then she complains that she's bloated and he tells her that she's beautiful. He asks if there's anything he can do for her before he leaves and she admits there is one thing. She sends him out for Eli's ribs and, when he returns, proceeds to rip them apart with her teeth like a cave woman. Patrick wonders if she has an iron deficiency and she laughs and says that tomorrow she'll have to have ice cream - it's all up to the baby.
Trevor goes out to Shady Brook and Anthony asks him to spring him from the joint. Trevor says that he has very little hope that he'll ever be a free man again. If he is proven competent to stand trial, he faces far too many charges to beat. He tries to convince Anthony that, all things considered, he's a very lucky man.
Sonny goes to see his boys over at Carly's house. Morgan is in the bath, and Sonny sits with Michael. Michael asks his dad how old he was when he quit school. Sonny chooses his words carefully as he describes how different his childhood was from Michael's. As they talk, Jax and Carly return home and Jax chafes at seeing Sonny in his living room.
After Sonny leaves, Carly tells Jax that Michael needs time with his father and Sonny will be around more from now on. Jax says that he knew Sonny was part of the package and he intends on staying busy with work. Carly expresses her discomfort with him spending time with Kate and Jax says that it takes a lot of time to launch a magazine. She asks why he couldn’t invest in another oil well in Venezuela or something. He reminds her that they are trying to move on from their loss and his way to do that is through work. He asks Carly to trust him, and she says that it's Kate who she doesn't trust!
Johnny orders two of his thugs to bring Ric to him. When they arrive, he demands to know why Ric went to see his father. Ric explains his plan to get Anthony released and then acquitted. Johnny says that his father is a murderous monster and Ric isn't even to consider such a thing!
Sonny goes over to Kate's just as her two assistants scramble off for a meeting. He hugs Kate and then turns around and nabs Spinelli by the scruff of his jacket. "How long are you going to tail me?" he asks. Spinelli's lame excuse about finding Lulu isn't going to wash with Sonny. He tells Spinelli to tell Jason that he doesn't want to be tailed. Spinelli scurries off and Sonny tells Kate that there's no reason for Jason or her to be worried anymore. He says that he's focused on her, his kids and his coffee business these days.
Claudia has Jerry and Ian meet her at Sonny's warehouse. She tells them that Sonny will be there on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Ian looks around and says that he can handle it and Claudia seems pleased.
