Defending Luke's Life.

Thursday, January 03 2008
Luke hears about his various sins, Ric softens towards not one, but two women; and Epiphany gets the worst news ever.

Luke finds that while the GH staff is working on his code blue - his soul is in Purgatory. He plays the role of the judge, as well as the defense AND prosecuting attorneys! The first witness is Alexis, who admits that Luke asked her to help him kill Helena and didn't show any remorse. The next witness is Carly, who tells the court that he blackmailed her not to come forward and admit that she is Bobbie's daughter. Edward is next and his biggest beef is that Luke got Tracy drunk and duped her into marrying him. Mac comes to the stand and tells the court that Luke slept with Felicia while he was married to Laura. Blaze is next and she sheepishly admits that she had sexual relations with Luke while he was married to Tracy. Guess who's next? Tracy - who has volunteered to testify against her own husband. She says that he poisoned her martini once among other things. Nikolas enters his comments about Luke referring to him "the Spawn" and Leslie Webber reports that Luke constantly put her daughter in danger. Scott says that Luke stole his wife and even raped her.

Back on Earth, Epiphany is at the nurses' desk yelling into the phone for Stanford to talk to her. Cassius and Elizabeth try to help by asking her where Stan was calling from. Liz calls 911 and hands the phone over to Epiphany. Then she uses her cell phone to call Jason for help. Jerry is watching the scene unfold from down the hall.

At the NYPD, Sonny is being questioned and Kate comes in to say that her good friend (and the cop's boss) Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expecting her and Mr. Corinthos at a function tonight. She says that the guy Sonny is being held for assaulting just tripped, that's all. The cop says that Sonny is a known mobster and isn't going anywhere. Kate changes her tact and mentions her good friend George Steinbrenner and finally gets the cop's attention. After they talk about the Yankees for a while, she offers two seats to a Broadway show for him and his wife and suddenly he decides to let Sonny go. But, a female cop comes in and plays hardball until she realizes that she's talking to Kate Howard. Kate offers her a makeover for a photo spread and then, finally, Sonny is set free.

Alexis has just barged into Ric's office to tell him her good news. Ric and Skye congratulate her, but then she takes a call from Sam - who she has asked to baby sit the girls while she's at the awards ceremony. Sam isn't able to help out, so Ric offers to do it himself. Alexis isn't comfortable with the idea at first, but Ric reminds her that he loves both girls and can certainly take care of them for a few days. She softens a little and says that she thinks it's time to let her resentment of him go. Then, she thanks him and leaves.

Jason and Spinelli rush into GH with news that they found from tracking Stan's GPS devise. Apparently Stan crashed his SUV in central Florida somewhere. Epiphany is angry and says that if her son got hurt while working for Sonny Corinthos...Jason cuts her off and says that Stan quit working for them in September. Epiphany asks who he is working for then?

Jerry has gone back to Alexis's office and ends up making a few phone calls. As he directs someone on the other end of the phone to make sure that "he" is dead, Alexis walks into the room. She asks who is dead and he covers by saying that a deal has died. He says her door was open and he needed to make a call. She seems too worried about what to wear to the awards ceremony to rip him to shreds as she normally would. He is even able to convince her to have a drink with him to celebrate her nomination.

After much damning evidence against Luke, the slacker defense lawyer gets to call his witnesses. Bobbie starts by saying that her big brother always took care of her; in fact he encouraged her to become a prostitute. Lucky says that his father was so unconventional that he used to admit that he hated being a father. He goes on to say that he learned how to lie, cheat and run a scam from his dear old dad. Then Lulu tells the court that her absent father never really even tried to bond with her. Luke tries to speak on his own behalf, but the judge turns to the jury for their plea. One by one, everyone who has spoken stands and says "guilty" except for Tracy. She convinces them to give him another chance, so, one by one, they all say something to the effect of "not guilty, but not too innocent either".

Skye sticks around Ric's office for a while after Alexis leaves. He tells her that they are a lot a like and that they could be good together. She gives in to a big kiss and then pulls away. "I'll get back to you on that," she tells him and leaves.

Sonny and Kate go back to her hotel suite. He explains that he attacked the guy at the gallery because he rubbed him the wrong way. Kate asks what the guy could have possibly done to deserve getting his head slammed into the wall. Sonny doesn't answer, so she (correctly) guesses that he was bad-talking her. After they've changed into robes, Sonny tells her that he finally sees her as someone different than Connie Falconeri. Now, he can see the confidant Kate Howard and understands why she is so determined to stay in her world. "Any chance you might stay in it with me?" Kate asks.

At the hospital, Luke's code blue crisis seems to be over, but he is still out. Dr. Leo tells Tracy and Lulu that Luke may have sustained some damage to the valves that they just replaced. Tracy is livid. Just then, the judge declares that Luke is not guilty and he wakes up in his bed. He thanks Tracy for defending him and she tells him that she is going to kill him herself.

Out at the desk, Epiphany gets a call from the Florida police and Liz, Jason, Spinelli and Cassius look on. She can't believe what she is hearing and finally lets out a cry of dumbstruck grief.

As Alexis and Jerry leave for their happy hour, he takes one last call. "Stan Johnson won't be bothering you anymore," comes through the phone and Jerry is quite pleased.

Next on General Hospital:

Jerry tells Johnny that children need to be disciplined.

Carly asks Jason if Sonny is about to start a war with Johnny.

Felicia tells Mac that she wants to team up with him to solve Georgie's murder.

I feel so bad For Epiphany I really like her can't wait to see what's going to happen with Diane and Alexis.......... Well bye for now

Hi everyone! I love general hospital but I have to say today was the dumbest episode I have scene in years. I was bored today. Sorry. I love GH.

Hey NYDrama, gosh I absolutely loved your comments. We may in the minority on this board but that doesn't change my opinion. Your comments were spot on. Liason is a non-event to me. All the fans have been waiting for what? A roll in the hay every couple of weeks then back to work. That's not a relationship in my opinion. Either get together or knock it off. I find them so boring too, it's the same old same old. Goofy is the perfect description for them.

Sapphire: I know you answered me back w/ this comment. I'm not offended at all. I know some people find Sam & Jason boring but that's why we have different opinons. Each to their own as I always say

Hey, everyone is welcome here, it's gonna be 35deg today (I think that's about 102deg) Compared to the below zero temps in NY - what a difference. But hey, I'm coming to the USA in June to the Daytime Emmys so maybe I'll meet some or one of you.

Sapphire: I hope you feel better.

Hi everyone, it's freezing here, I live in NY and right now it's 19 and dropping. Sapphire, hope you feel better, was wondering where you have been. Sorry about your loss, after 9/11, I know alot of mothers that lost a child. So, todays episode, since the writters are on strike, I think we should start doing the writting. Starting with, no more deaths, and no more Luke in the hospital. I thought he was very funny, good actor but the story was dumb, he's going on vacation anyway. So, why couldn't Liz grab Jason in the broomcloset for a brief hello? I know I would have. Oh, I watched Steve Burton on Youtube and he claims he didn't take off his shirt during the scene in the bedroom after the funeral because he has put on a couple of pounds(?)Apparently, he likes football season. Tomorrows episode looks boring too, guess we have to wait until Carly learns the truth next week about Jake for some action and maybe seeing Liz/Jason together. At least we have Diane/Alexis tomorrow.

Roe: he put some pounds on? HUH, he's H-O-T!!! I don't care about his scenes as long as he's got his shirt off...hehe

Well, I truly find Luke so boring now. Him & Spanky have really become boring. I've always liked his scenes w/ Scotty. That's the Luke I miss and want. And, I don't know why he comes back to GH, he's only here for a few weeks then he's off again to Amsterdam. I don't get it.

Hope ya feel better

And Aussie-gal I agree, I'm sure he still looks hot as hell. If he's feeling unure about his body, he should let US be the judge! That man is too sexy for words!
