Spinelli, Logan and Coop decide to fight back. Luke and Tracy talk love. Sonny and Zacchara face off. Jerry realizes Trevor will kill them all.
Sonny manages to wake Jerry who tells him that Zacchara took Kate. Sonny goes off to track them down in the turret room. A few moments later Trevor walks in. He and Jerry spar about Zacchara. Jerry tells Trevor he knows Trevor called in the mercenaries; Trevor won't admit to anything. They argue some more. Jax and Carly walk in. Trevor leaves after warning them to keep a closer eye on Jerry. Once they are alone, Jerry warns them that Trevor is beginning some damage control and they could be in danger! Trevor listens to them from around the corner. Jax asks where the gunmen's boats may be. Jerry suggests the north side of the island. Jax decides they all need to go there now. Jerry refuses to go. He tells them about Zacchara taking Kate and waiting for Sonny.
In the turret room, Kate distracts Zacchara by mentioning roses. Sonny finds them and, unarmed, goes into the room. Anthony turns the gun on him. Sonny starts talking, telling Zacchara to let Kate go or he'll go after Johnny! Zacchara pretends not to care, saying it doesn't matter who kills Johnny. Sonny dares him to take the shot, then. Instead Zacchara sits down with Kate and starts talking about Russian Roulette - with Kate as the target! Sonny keeps talking, bringing up the past and bringing up Johnny - and Jason! Anthony shoves Kate toward Sonny saying, "Kiss her goodbye!" Sonny gets Kate behind him and says he needs more. Sonny offers to stay with Zacchara as long as he lets Kate go. Zacchara asks about roses for Sonny's grave. Motioning with the gun, he tells Kate to go. She leaves. Sonny begins to back away; Zacchara takes aim and shoots him in the shoulder. "Now you can go," he says. Sonny closes the door behind him.
In the barn, Logan sees the cut on Johnny's hand. He says it looks just like wounds he saw in Iraq - those wounds happened with a soldier would hold a cord too tightly! Johnny can't remember how the injury happened. Lulu changes the subject and asks someone to take her to the main house so she can be with Nikolas. Johnny volunteers; Logan doesn't like that idea but before he can change her mind, Lulu and Johnny are gone. Coop and Maxie show up, along with Georgie. They fill them in on Emily's death. Out of nowhere, Spinelli says they need to do something. All the guys agree and they gather up farm implements and decide to go looking for the mercenaries!
Trevor meets up with Zacchara on the terrace. He tells Anthony he has to go; Zacchara tells him about Sonny. A gunman comes up and Trevor orders him to take out Sonny but leave Kate alone! Zacchara asks Trevor when he started giving orders. Trevor tells Anthony he is just trying to help. They begin to argue. Off to the side, the guys from the barn hear them. Spinelli has an idea and calls out, pretending to be a cop. Everyone scatters. one of the bad guys comes through the hedge and Spinelli clonks him on the head, knocking him out. Excited he calls out to Logan and Coop and realizes they are nowhere to be found!
Nikolas wakes from his dream, hollering for Emily. Elizabeth and Jason remind him that Emily is dead; Nik begs them to let him hold her. Nikolas begins talking to Emily, wondering why she came back to the ballroom. Jason and Liz hear him talking about Em not being there and he tries to get Nikolas to remember what happened to her. Before Nik can talk to him, Lulu arrives. "It's all my fault," Nikolas says and tells everyone that he killed Emily! Lulu thinks he is just feeling guilty and he explodes in anger at her. Elizabeth takes Lulu to the side of the room and tells her to give Nik space. Lulu asks if Zacchara did it; Jason believes he did. Liz and Jason sit down, watching Nikolas. Jason begins to think Nikolas may have had a part in Emily's death. Liz says he couldn't have but Jason brings up the blackouts. He leaves to find Zacchara. Liz is watching Nik, who is still talking to Emily, when Zacchara walks in. Quietly, he takes Liz as his next hostage!
Sonny and Kate make it back to another room. She sees he is bleeding and begins to take care of him. Sonny starts getting mushy with her, talking about his feelings. Kate doesn't want him to talk about love or anything else and Sonny wonders why. He continues to bring up the past and Kate tells him not to worry about that because they have both had great lives. Sonny reminds her of the night she came back in to his life. She kisses him. Sonny collapses! A gunman bursts in to the room. Kate tells him he is too late!
In the bedroom, Luke and Tracy talk about dying. She is worried what will happen to him. He can't believe he is in danger of dying at the Cassadine estate. Tracey tells him he can't die because she needs him; Luke promises not to die. She tells him once they are back on the mainland, she'll get Monica to figure out his heart issues so he'll be around for a long, long time. Logan walks in to tell them about Emily's death. Luke and Tracy are stunned. He decides he has to go to Nikolas and tries to get up. Luke falls over!
Carly goes looking for Sonny. Jason sees her on the way up to the turret room and Jason tells her to stop, return to Jax and let him take care of it. She argues for a moment but when he begs her to return to Jax, she agrees. Jason heads upstairs to find Sonny. Carly turns around and returns to the sitting room. She hesitates in the entryway, then continues on. With her back turned, someone places a cord around her neck and pulls Carly into another room!
Back with Emily in the ballroom, Nikolas says nothing works without her. He sees a gun across the room and standing over her, puts the gun to his chest! Crying and unable to deal with his pain, Nik points the gun to his chest!
Jason arrives at the turret just in time to see Zacchara put Elizabeth on top of the wall. He tells Jason to take Elizabeth's place - or he'll kill her! Liz tells him not to do it but Jason steps up on the wall casing.
