Sam feels it's high time that Lucky knows about Jake, Carly is furious at Kate, and Luke suffers a heart attack.

"5 hours earlier. 1 a.m."
Lucky's voice says, "We all think we want the truth. But sometimes when we hear it, we want to believe in the lie." Lucky reassures Maxi that she'll be okay now.

Meanwhile in another room, AZ is strangling Nik as Emily tries to get a clear shot of him with a gun. Finally, Johnny rushes in and pulls AZ away from Nik and begs him to come home with him. AZ fires a shot and tells his son that the next bullet will go right between his eyes, then turns and leaves the room. Nik is struggling to get some breath, but when he does, he says, "What the hell was that?" Maxi rushes into the room and asks Nik how to get back to the ballroom. She explains that AZ just tried to force her to play Russian roulette! Then she says that she saw Lucky in the hallway, but they went different ways. Nik and Emily are thrilled to hear that Lucky's okay, and they tell Maxi that no one is in the ballroom anymore. They've all moved to the parlor near the north entrance, and Johnny will take her there.

Jason, Carly and Sam go back to the mansion after their dramatic shootout. (And Carly's dramatic accusations of Sam's motives for helping.) Things between them are tense to say the least! Lucky shows up and Sam is happy to see him. She tells him that they are taking people to the stables and that Liz is there. Carly tells Lucky that his new girlfriend just tried to prove her worth to Jason and Sam spits that she wouldn't take Jason back if he crawled on his knees.

Tracy is writhing in pain and Luke offers her more brandy. Scott would like more too, but Luke tells him that there's a limit to their stash. Luke tells him off and Scott says that he'd rather take his chances with a murderer on the loose than hang out with them, so he leaves. "Alone at last," Luke tells her. He says that the constant fighting with Scott is a waste of his time after all these years. He goes on to say that he knows that Laura is gone and her condition is incurable. Tracy reminds him that he always holds out hope, but Luke says that it's called denial and he's not going to do that to himself -- or to her, anymore. Tracy thinks he's lying to her because she's hurt, but Luke tells her that this marriage has changed him. He says that she has given him something that he's never had before. "A reason to come back." Tracy says that she doesn't appreciate being abandoned when he leaves town, but she's awfully glad that he duped her into marrying him. Through her pain she says that she had resigned herself to a dry family existence until he got her drunk in Vegas and made her feel alive again. "You are frustrating, infuriating, and absolutely fabulous," she tells him and he gives her a big "right back atcha." He starts kissing on her neck and she reminds him that she is in extraordinary pain, and he drank all the booze! Scott comes back in and says that there is no more booze. He says he got lost trying to find the ballroom. Luke decides to go out and find a bottle of the good stuff. Tracy accuses him of going out to look for Anthony Zacchara, but he leaves anyway. After he's gone, Scott asks Tracy what she sees in Luke anyway? Tracy says that Scott is pining away for the perfect love that he THOUGHT he had with Laura - that's his problem. She and Luke are living in the present.

Sonny is getting weaker and weaker as he gives blood to Ric. He's telling Kate that he never wanted to get into this business but after she didn't run off with him…he talks about taking her back to Coney Island and he'll carry her out to the ocean. (He drifts away.) Kate tells Robin that Sonny needs help! Trevor actually looks concerned, but it turns out it's only because he's worried that Patrick will stop the transfusion.
Liz and Nadine are alone in the stables. Liz takes the opportunity to explain to Nadine about the hug she gave Jason when she saw that he was safe earlier. She says that they're not together and they can't be, so maybe she should just forget about what she saw.

Lulu is recovering from the bump on her head. Spinelli feels guilty for giving it to her, but he's hearing her out as she showers him with compliments for always being there for her. Spinelli says that he's almost come to terms with the fact that they'll never be bonded romantically, but it doesn't lessen his desire to be her friend. Lulu is happy to hear it because she has missed him. "You have broken down all of my defenses and now I don't know what I would do without you," she says. Spinelli tells her that everything he does is because he wants her happy and safe. Just then, Nadine comes in and says that she's glad Lulu is okay. She says that Spinelli had no choice but to knock her out! Lulu is furious and Nadine says that Spinelli prevented her from doing something stupid and she would have done the same thing!

Em and Nik are alone again as he recovers from his fight with AZ. Emily comforts him by talking about a trip to Italy so that they can regroup when this is all over. He says that he just wants to be happy with her. He is tearful as he says that the blackouts are more frequent and worsening. He tells her that she is too good to him, but Emily says that she's just selfish that's all. Nik says that all she's ever done is love him and it has brought him back from his evil Cassadine roots more times than he can count. He tells her that she needs to protect herself from him. Emily says that she trusts him and that he will never hurt her. She says that she'd like them to hide out together alone until this whole nightmare is over. Nik tells her that he has to go help his guests! He ends up on top of her screaming that she needs to trust him. He pulls himself out of it and is horrified at his behavior. Emily promises to get him help and he says that he needs her to protect herself…from him. Right now.

Sonny is still passed out as Patrick tells Trevor that Ric's pulse is getting stronger. Skye asks Trevor why he's so suddenly concerned about his son. Trevor says that his relationship with his son has always been difficult. He tells her that all he feels when he looks at Ric is all the years that he wasted. Robin is over talking to Kate. She assures her that Sonny will be fine and maybe she should just talk to him for a while. Kate is worried, but she tries. Trevor listens as Kate begs Sonny to wake up. She talks about Coney Island and that she'll even try to swim with him in the summer. Carly and Jason show up and she is spitting mad at Kate when she learns that Sonny is unconscious. Robin tells her that they have no idea how much blood they took because they don't have any equipment. As Carly begs Sonny to wake up, he groggily does and asks her what's wrong. Jason takes over and whispers to Sonny what's going on. They decide that the best way to proceed is for Sonny to get to the stables and Jason to go after as many goons as he can. As Jason helps Sonny up, Carly, and then Kate announce that they are going with him.
Ric wakes up and Trevor tells him to rest. Ric can't believe that his father is next to him and thinks he's delirious. Trevor thanks Robin for her efforts on his son and she says after hearing all that she's heard tonight, "You can choke on your appreciation Mr. Lansing." Skye tells Ric that Sonny gave blood and that's why he's still alive. Ric doesn't get why Sonny would help, and Skye says that his father tracked him down and wouldn't take no for an answer. Johnny comes into the room looking for Trevor and says that he knows what he has to do! Then, he sees Leyla and says, "Oh God." Turns out that Leyla looks just like his mother.
Jason drops Kate, Carly and Sonny in a room instead of going all the way to the stables. Carly asks for a gun before he leaves, and Jason gives her one against Sonny's orders. After Jason's gone, the ladies argue over who knows the real Sonny. Carly calls Kate a mannequin in designer clothes. Sonny says, "You're wrong…because I love Kate."
Nik and Emily have made their way down to the wine cellar and go inside. He turns to her and tells her to lock him in. She can't believe her ears and tells him that she can't do it. He tells her that she can and she will. He says that this is the only way he has to protect her and please don't take that away from him. Finally, he gets through to her. She tells him that she loves him and he closes the door for her to lock it. She does.
Luke comes down the stairs and AZ greets him. Luke says that he's much smaller than he would've thought and doesn't see what everyone is so afraid of. "The dark!" AZ says. Luke says that he's a little dark himself so he's not scared. AZ tells him that they have more in common because they're both fathers. He tells Luke, "Your daughter is going to pay because she went after my son." He says that his son will pay too, and will die by his hand. Luke tells Johnny to snuff his little bastard and leave everyone else alone. AZ says that wouldn't be much fun. Luke tells Anthony that his worst mistake was running into him. He's acting deranged (to through Zacchara off) and says that when this is over, they'll all end up in the loony bin wiping drool off of each other's chin. Anthony counters by saying that neither of them will be around to tell the tale. Enough with the talking, Luke pulls out a knife and tries to piece AZ, but AZ is able to grab his hands and there's a bit of a mid-air arm wrestle. AZ head butts Luke and the two men break free. Luke gets to his feet first and starts to charge toward Anthony but he clutches his chest and cries out in pain as he falls to the floor.

Lucky and Sam knock on the barn door and Liz lets them in. She's glad to see that Lucky is safe, but Sam doesn't give anyone a moment to speak. She yells that of course Liz is safe because Jason put her way before everyone else. Sam goes on and says that Liz threw Lucky away. She finishes her tirade by announcing that she has decided that she has kept her mouth shut for too long! Liz tries to get Sam to shut up but Sam won't listen. Her intensity builds as she shrieks at Liz for how wrongfully she has treated Lucky and that because of it, she cheated Jason out of the most important thing in his life. Liz's eyes are huge in sick anticipation, but Jason walks in at exactly the right moment. He tells Sam that this needs to stop right now.
NEXT ON GH:
Nikolas tells Em that he's changed his mind; she needs to let him out.
Carly tells Sonny that there's no way he's in love with Kate Howard.
Lucky asks Jason what he doesn't want Sam to tell him.
"It's not Sam's truth to tell!" Jason yells.
