"5 hours earlier. Midnight"

Alexis's voice says, "How far would you go to save someone else? Would you risk your life to save theirs?" Alexis looks on as Robin and Patrick try to save Ric from bleeding to death. There is very little light and Patrick is having a hard time finding all of the "bleeders". Finally Patrick says that he thinks he patched last one, but without new blood Ric will die. Alexis has all but keeled over from abdominal pain and Skye worriedly watches her. Just as Patrick has done all he can do for Ric Alexis screams out in pain. Patrick and Robin rush over to access her situation and determine that she has appendicitis. Emily agrees to go for some pain pills leftover from when Nik hurt his arm.

In the hallway, Trevor is begging Sonny to give blood to his brother…for Adele's sake (Ric and Sonny's mother). Carly contends that if Sonny agrees, he will be flat on his back and vulnerable to Trevor's attack. Kate says that she's sure Sonny is aware of the risk, but he won't let his brother die! Carly reminds Sonny that "that freak" locked her up when she was pregnant with their son. She runs off and Sonny starts to go after her, but Kate tells him that she wants him to do just that long enough for Ric to die.

In the ballroom, Georgie is worried about Maxi and Coop and Logan are trying to calm her down. She tells them to go after her sister and Logan asks why he should get himself killed for her? "You were a coward in Iraq and you're just as big of a coward now!" Coop shouts. Georgie turns and leaves them and after she's gone, Nik goes off on Logan. "Forget Anthony Zacchara, you're the one. whose crazy aren't you?" Logan asks his seething host.

Jerry is still trying to round up the few people he cares about to take the launch through the stormy harbor to the mainland. Sam tells Jerry that she won't go anywhere without Lucky. Jerry fights with her over it and Carly shows up and tells them that she's not going anywhere!

Liz (with Nadine and Spinelli) have just shot the goon who was about to enter the barn. They drag him inside and ask what he's doing there. He dies before he can say anything. Nadine starts to talk about how afraid she is and how a person can start out so right but go so wrong. Spinelli is wise enough to see that she is referring to her sister Jolene (who killed GH patients as part of a corporate takeover attempt.) Liz comforts her.

Jason comes back to the barn with Johnny and Lulu and Liz rushes into his arms. Johnny tells them that they are leaving Lulu with them and going back out after his father. Lulu is NOT happy to be left with "women folk" and Spinelli bristles at being called a woman. Jason puts Spinelli in charge of keeping them safe, especially, keeping Lulu from leaving the barn on her own. As soon as he's gone, Lulu urges Spinelli to take on Zacchara with her - just the two of them. Liz tells Lulu NOT to take advantage of Spinelli's feelings and risk both of their lives. Lulu says that he can't stop her, but she's the only one who can lure Zacchara out of hiding. She walks out the door and Spinelli knocks her out with the butt of his gun.

Anthony has nabbed Maxi in the corridor. He tells her to die with some style and grace and stop whining like the spoiled brat she is. He explains that he wants her to play Russian Roulette with him. He promises Maxi that she'll feel alive for the first time in her life! Maxi realizes that he is insane and AZ agrees with her. Maxi asks if she plays along, what if she survives? He tells her that she can go free, but she'd have to kill him first. She asks him to give her the gun so they can get it over with. AZ asks where the game room is and she points (so that he'll turn his head). When he does, she smashes a vase over his head and gets away. He yells after her, "Run you little vixen!"

Jax comes into Ric's triage area and learns about Alexis's condition. He wants to take her on the launch to the mainland and Alexis doesn't want him to risk his life for her. Through her pain, she tries to weigh her options and finally asks Robin "If this were Patrick, what would you do?" Robin says that she would get him to the boat if she had to carry him herself. Jax lifts Alexis up and they leave.

As Alexis is being carried out, Kate and Sonny arrive to see Ric. After Sonny sees his lifeless body, he agrees to do the transfusion. Kate tells him that this is more about who he is than what Ric deserves. He sits down and Trevor watches as Patrick starts the transfusion. Soon the blood runs from brother to brother, via a tube that is duck taped to their arms. Trevor asks Sonny if he sees the irony of how he's tried to end his brother's life for years and now he's saving it. Patrick sees an opportunity to go over and check in on Leyla, who is sitting off to the side. She is upset and thinking about her family in Iran. Patrick tells her that she's amazing.

In the ballroom Jerry is arguing with Carly - who doesn't want to risk taking the launch. He assures her that the boat will be secured so that the goons don't sabotage it. As they argue, Sam slips away to find Lucky. Carly wants to get Jax before they leave and Jerry grabs her by the arms and screams at her that he won't let her die. Coop busts in and takes Carly away from Jerry, who tells "Three" that he will pay if anything happens to Carly!" Carly runs off and Jerry follows her. Georgie asks Coop why Jerry called him "Three"? He deflects her question by quickly formulating a plan to get her out of there safely. He says that he is as worried about Maxi as she is, but she wouldn't want her risking her life.

Maxi is running through the house and is scared to death when she runs into someone. She's scared to death and he assures her that she will be alright now.

Spinelli carries the unconscious Blonde One back into the barn. He apologizes for doing it, but says he was following Jason's instructions. He begs her forgiveness and says that he was just trying to save her impetuous life. After a while, she comes to with a big headache. She asks if she was hit with a branch or something and he tells her that the details are irrelevant. She admits that she is sleepy, and he nervously says that sleeping is ill-advised. She continues to wonder what happened to her head and Spinelli tells her that he is happy to aid in her recuperation. Lulu groggily wonders what she ever did to deserve a friend like him and Spinelli doesn't say a word.

Jax is carrying Alexis toward the boat and runs into Jerry. Jerry says that Carly ran off and they need to find her before they leave. Through her pain, Alexis tells Jax that they can wait, but Jax insists that they leave without his wife.

The transfusion is still going on as Trevor, Leyla, Patrick, Robin and Skye watch nervously. Sonny reaches up and holds Kate's hand. He tells her that he doesn't give a damn about his brother…he did this for her.

Carly is out in the courtyard when she comes face to face with some of AZ's men. Jason is on her tail and there's a shoot out. Sam comes upon the shootout between Jason and the goons and joins in. After the goons are dead, Carly accuses Sam of helping just to try to get Jason back. Jason looks Sam and says "Sam knows why I'll never forgive her."

Nik is roaming through the halls looking for Lucky. He bumps into Em and the two of them almost shoot each other! He starts to yell at her, but she calms him down. They hold onto each other briefly, but are separated when a shot rings out in the room. It's AZ! He says how romantic it would be to die in each other's arms. Nik's full rage powers him through the room and on top of the old man. They end up in a wrestling stalemate until AZ jams his fingers in Nik's eyes. As Nik falls back, AZ jumps up, pushes Emily aside and is able to pull out his wire and wrap it around Nik's neck. Frantic, Emily picks up the gun and is trying to get a clear shot.

NEXT ON GH:

Nik is gurgling his last breaths as Emily tries to steady her gun.

Kate tells everyone that something's wrong with Sonny.

Sam tells Jason that she wouldn't take him back if he came crawling.

Then, she finds Lucky and Liz and insists that she has kept her mouth shut too long!
