Maxi defends Coop, Ric gets stabbed and Luke tells everybody to "Party on." Just another day in Port Charles - NOT!
"9 hours earlier."
As Sonny is ushering Kate into a room off the terrace from the cold and rain, we hear his voice saying, "Sometimes you only see the danger in hindsight. I should've known. Only it's too late." He bundles her up in her wrap and then finds a nice bottle of champagne and two flutes. Kate suspects that it was meant as a private after party for Nikolas and Emily after their guests have left. Sonny assures her that nobody is leaving tonight and the hosts will be busy with their guests. They sit down to enjoy their drink and Kate tells him that she was worried about him. She says that she doesn't want to put relationship pressure on him, but a phone call would've been nice. He says that he had to stay out of sight until Jason could arrange to get him home. He says that since he didn't die in the explosion, he had to remain under cover so that he couldn't be a target again.
Meanwhile, Lulu and Johnny are out at the waterfront trying to catch the launch back into town. They are drenched and Lulu is yelling that there are no more boats tonight and they need to go back inside!
In the study, Carly is holding Coop at gunpoint. He calmly asks what this is all about? She says she'll blow his head off if he doesn't tell her why he killed Leticia. Then she explains that she received a text from the killer that told her to come to the study in 10 minutes. Coop carefully tells Carly that he only ducked into the study to respond to a text that he got regarding a case that he's on. Carly says that she's not that naive. Just then, Maxi enters the room and asks what's going on? Cooper explains that Carly thinks he's a killer and Maxi says that's not possible. She says that Coop is kind and loyal and she had no idea until she already lost him. "As far as I can see, Coop is guilty as sin," Carly says as she steadily keeps him in her crosshairs. Maxi marches across the room and wraps Coop's arm around her neck. She says that if Coop is who Carly thinks he is, he'll use her as a hostage to get away.
Alexis ducks into the foyer so that she can try to use her cell. Her eyes fly open and she screams bloody murder. Ric has been pinned to the wall by a dagger through the chest! He's looking at her and gurgling. Johnny and Lulu come rushing in and she tells them to go get Patrick! Alexis rushes over to Ric and gently brushes his cheek with her hand.
In a corridor somewhere, Lucky finds Sam with a flashlight. She is about to set off to find the generator and try to repair it. Lucky asks if she's upset about her fight with Liz, and Sam shakes it off. Liz approaches them and asks to talk to Lucky, so Sam leaves.
Once alone, the first thing Lucky does is jump on Liz for fighting with Sam. Liz sharply says that not all conversations have to be about Sam! She says that Nikolas is seriously ill. She explains about his black-outs and rages and Lucky thanks her for telling him. She tells him that he's a wonderful compassionate brother and thought he should know.
Jax finds Jerry in the ballroom and asks if he has seen Carly. He explains that she claims that that she's been texting Michael all night, but now he's not so sure. Jerry says that can only mean trouble.
Meanwhile back in town, Jason has gone to Max to see if they can get a boat to take them to Spoon Island in spite of the weather.
In the ballroom Nik is asking a tearful Leyla what happened to her necklace. She says that it was her grandmother's and it means a lot to her. Nikolas asks why she is covering for the person who ripped it off of her and why didn't Patrick defend her? He angrily walks away and Emily chases after him.
Logan approaches Spinelli and Nadine and says that Lulu is missing. Nadine tries to shed some light by explaining about the guy who thought she was Lulu because she is wearing the same dress. Logan jumps down her throat for dancing with him and then cutting in on Patrick so that he could whisk Lulu away. As he and Spinelli give Nadine the 3rd degree, Lulu rushes in to the ballroom and says that somebody stabbed Ric Lansing. Leyla, Jax and others go running and Trevor looks alarmed.
Patrick has cornered Robin in another room to yell at her for Maxi's behavior (in breaking Leyla's necklace). They end up arguing about their problems and Nik listens outside the door for a few minutes. When Patrick tries to leave the room, Nikolas pounds on him asking "How many women do you plan on leaving in tears tonight?" Patrick gets a few punches in but is no match for a deranged Nikolas. Robin is horrified and begs Nikolas to stop. Finally Nikolas snaps out of it and Em rushes into the room. She explains to Robin and Patrick what's been going on with Nikolas. Nik doesn't apologize to Patrick but numbly says that he has guests to attend to. Patrick tells him he has bigger problems right now.
Everyone is gathering around Ric and Jerry warns everyone that whoever did this is likely still in the mansion. He loads his gun and warns everyone to be careful.
Trevor finds Johnny and Lulu and Johnny tells them that his father is here. Lulu doesn't understand why that is so serious and Johnny tells her that he watched his father kill his mother! He explains that his mother died for loving him, and then recalls that one night when he was little she wanted to take him to the city to a concert. He flashes back to how he looked in his suit while he waited for her to get ready. Johnny explains that his father walked into the room with a gun pointed at him, but his mother came in and tried to stop him -- but she got shot instead. Johnny says that Trevor covered the whole thing up by saying that an intruder got in. So, for all these years, Anthony has transferred his obsession for Maria to his son and now thinks that he's losing him to Lulu!
The guests are milling around in the ballroom in quite darkness. Luke asks Alfred to check to see if Tracy made it to the island. Then Spinelli races up to Luke to explain that Ric has been stabbed and that Lulu is in danger - although at the moment she's with the group seeing to the evil DA. Luke is relieved that Lulu is in a crowd at least, but whoever did it is still on the island.
Liz is on her own somewhere looking for a flashlight. Guess who is only a closet door away from her? Anthony Zacchara.
Luke finds Lucky and Sam and tells them that someone speared the DA "like a cocktail onion." He tells them that there's safety in numbers and they should get back to the crowd. Lucky's first reaction is to wonder if Liz is okay. Luke walks over and pounds on the piano in order to get everyone's attention. He says that they have a freak wondering around with a knife. He says that there will be fewer bodies to pile up if they all stay together. He reminds them that there's plenty of food and booze so they should just party. After he finishes Lucky asks his father what he's doing? Luke quietly says that they need to go look for Lulu. Logan has overheard and wants to help. Luke says, "With any luck, you will be the next 'shish' on the kabob." Lucky turns and kisses Sam and says that he doesn't want to worry about her, so she needs to stay with the crowd.
At the triage for Ric, Robin tells Alexis that they've not been able to stop the bleeding and he needs to get to the hospital. They all agree that they need to use the launch in spite of the weather. Robin says that she knows where Nik keeps the keys. Trevor says that he is going to get his son the medical help that he needs. Patrick says that all they can do for Ric at this point is get some brandy for him and put pressure on the wound. Alexis tells Ric that she knows he likes to be the center of attention, but this is ridiculous. Ric gives her a weak smile.

Carly is still pointing her gun at Coop (and Maxi) as Maxi runs her mouth that more than one person has wanted to kill Carly over the years. As she rambles on, we can see someone's shadow as it approaches the study. It's Jax - who is horrified at the sight of Carly holding Maxi and Coop at gunpoint. He sets them free and then reads Carly the riot act. Suddenly he gets why she wanted Jason to escort her tonight. Carly says that she doesn't want to hurt Jax's feelings, but she wishes that Jason was here!
Georgie tries to comfort Spinelli because he's worried about The Valcary, The Maternal One and of course, The Blonde One. Then she points out that there's someone else who needs his concern. He doesn't get it until she comes right out and says that it's her. Spinelli is happy to oblige.
Kate and Sonny are still off having their own little private party. She says that she doesn't like Carly much, but since she's doing business with Jax she needs to be pleasant to her. Then she tells him that Carly just gave her a warning that Sonny could just disappear at any time. Sonny urges Kate to believe that he's good at staying alive. He thanks Kate for helping him to realize that Trevor is the one who set him up. She doesn't get what Trevor has to do with any of this. "He's the one who tried to have me killed," Sonny snarls. He explains how crazy Anthony is and that Trevor has a talent for deceiving women. Kate chastises herself for thinking she was savvy and could see through people. She is angry at herself for being so stupid. Sonny tells her that she was young and the choices she made eventually led her back into his life. "I am not complaining," he says with a crack in his voice.
Patrick goes out to get the brandy for Ric and runs into Robin. He reports that Ric doesn't look good. Robin is holding a bloodied white mask and starts to say something but she keels over and he catches her. Leyla has seen the whole thing.
Johnny comes across Trevor and says that his father is barking mad and should've been locked up years ago. Trevor says that the only way to prevent AZ from killing others tonight is for Johnny to convince him that he'll never leave him.
Liz is making her way back through the halls of Wyndemere with the flashlights. She opens a door and a body falls to the ground with a knife stuck in it.
Out on the water, Jason is speeding through the storm on a small craft in the pouring rain. Suddenly he realizes that his boat is rigged with a bomb.
In the ballroom, Lucky is happy to see Lulu, and then asks if anyone has seen Liz. Nik tells Em that he's going to help Lucky find Liz. He kisses her and the brothers take off. Luke closes the ballroom door behind them and announces that they will leave the doors closed now in hopes that "…the sword-yielding whack job" stays on the outside. A bold of lightening flashes and we see that AZ is in the ballroom with everyone else.
