General Hospital - DAILY UPDATES

Spinelli and Jason are driving back to Port Charles after doing what they set out to do -- find out who was behind the park attack on Liz. Spinelli tells Jason that Sam would never, ever, do what those guys say they did. Watching Jake get kidnapped is one thing, but plotting to have Liz and her offspring held at gunpoint is way worse. He lobbies for Jason to get Sam professional help instead of punishing her. Jason just keeps his steely blue eyes on the road.

Sam has pulled away from Lucky's kiss and apologizes for her part in it. She admits that she is drawn to him, but she should've pulled away sooner. Lucky says that he kissed her, and regardless, she does need a bodyguard. Sam says that he needs to work on his marriage and as much as she enjoyed the look on Liz's face when she found out that he was going to guard her, he needs to put his family first. Lucky tells Sam that she needs a guard she can trust, and if Liz can't handle it, too bad. No matter how hard Sam tries to get out of it, it looks like she has herself a new and loyal bodyguard.

Jerry is pointing his gun at Carly and Irina has her gun at Jax's neck. Carly suggests that if she and Jax just leave, Irina can torture Jerry forever. Jerry asks Irina if she'll spend the rest of her life with him if he kills them both. She says yes. Jerry is just about to pull the trigger on Jax, but he pauses and asks if Irina is setting him up. She points her gun on Jerry and he confesses that he loves her very much, but that the torture he endured broke him. He says that she was the only woman he ever loved. So, if she needs to guarantee her safety, she should pull the trigger and kill him. Irina's eyes start to mist and Jerry tells her that he'll love her forever. She falls into his arms for a tearful kiss and murmurs his name. As they embrace, Jerry closes his eyes tight, while hers fly wide open. Her body goes limp and he gently slides her to the floor.

Ric has just learned from Kate that his father is in town and will see to it that her legal problems go away. He asks how she knows his father and Kate explains that Trevor is good friends with her publisher. Ric says that now that he knows his father is involved, he's even more determined to nail her. Kate says that his father is a wonderful man, but clearly, the two of them don't get along, right? Ric says that his father masks his true nature with charm. He tells Kate that his father's marriage was only a marriage of convenience, and apparently, Kate was one of his mistresses. "I'm starting to see why Trevor never speaks of you," Kate says defensively. Ric warns Kate that she doesn't want to be on the bad side of his father, and Kate says that she is not afraid of Trevor. But if he is, she says, he should drop the charges.

At Sonny's office, Trevor has come to make his presence in town - and in Kate's life -- known. He explains that he opened doors for Kate years ago, doors that nobody else could have. The same doors that he was willing to open for Sonny's mother, but Sonny tried to kill her rather than let that happen. (As a child, Sonny accidentally pushed his mother down the stairs when she was pregnant with Ric. She was having an affair with Trevor at the time.) Sonny tells Trevor not to mention his mother's name! Trevor goes on and says that he was able to convince his wife to adopt the boy, but he never loved a woman like he loved Adele (Sonny's mother). Until he met Kate Howard, that is. He says that he was molded Kate in to the kind of woman that he is proud to be with. Sonny tells Trevor to go back to Manhattan. Trevor taunts Sonny on his way out the door, and Jason has arrived in time to see it.

Emily finds Liz at the hospital and finds her in a foul mood. Liz explains that she just found her husband at Sam's apartment. What's more, she has hired him as her new body guard! Emily can't believe it and Liz says that Sam clearly wants to get even with her, and frankly, she's not sure she even has the right to object. Emily tells her to forget all of that and to just listen to her heart. She asks Liz if she feels as if Lucky is an obligation at this point. Liz says that she wants to work things out for her family, unless or until Lucky says otherwise.

Lucky and Sam go to the Metro Court to check out security there. They run into Amelia and she asks what's going on. Sam says that since Amelia is going to be paying for it, she might as well know that Lucky is her new body guard. Amelia immediately smiles and says, "You didn't waste any time, did you?" She turns to Lucky and admits that she and Sam despise each other but ratings are good so they keep the status quo. Lucky says that in that case, he needs to keep his eye on her as well. He asks if she arranged for the thugs in the park to threaten Liz so that Sam could be a hero and Amelia says that she'd never put children in danger. Lucky suggests that if she hates Sam so much, she could find a new star. Amelia says, "Recasting is a lot of trouble and it usually ends in disaster."

Jax can't believe what he just saw. As Carly unties his hands, Jax asks Jerry how he could've killed the woman he loves. Jerry says that he did love her, but "the bitch was going to kill us." The second that his hands are free, Jax quickly points a gun to his brother and declares that he is sick of his games. He tells Jerry to keep on running and that he and Carly don't want to see him again. He grabs Carly by the hand and they leave.

Sonny tells Jason that the guy who just left is Ric's father, Kate's boyfriend and Anthony Zacchara's lawyer. He said that when he realized all of this, it hit him like a brick. Jason worries if Zacchara is trying to expand into Port Charles and Sonny says that it's likely more than that -- Trevor is bringing up his mother, now, too. Jason doesn't believe that his visit has anything to do with his personal life - Trevor must be in town to cause them trouble. Sonny says that he's looking to see where they are most vulnerable. "He is the advance man for the worst enemy that I've ever faced!" Sonny says. He says that it's worse because he's sleeping with someone he cares about. He says he's too close to this and needs Jason's opinion. Jason tries to get Sonny to realize that Zacchara is the real problem. Then he asks if they should they kill them before they move? Sonny suggests that they figure everything out, "and then, you protect your own."

Trevor goes to Kate's room at the Metro Court and she lets him in. She admits that Ric was just there and wasn't happy to hear that his dad is in town. Trevor says that Richard was never happy. "Forget my son," Trevor asks as he steps in close to Kate, "Sweetie, are you involved with Sonny Corinthos?" She tells him that they are neighbors and anything else is personal. Trevor says that whatever it is, she needs to break it off now. He says that Sonny is psychotic. He explains that as a child Sonny was so jealous that he pushed his own mother down the stairs to kill his unborn brother. Upon hearing this, Kate softens and says that simply could not have happened. Trevor says it certainly did, and what's more, that just twenty minutes ago Sonny threatened to kill him.

Carly and Jax on their flight back home. She can't believe that they made it, and says how much she missed him. Jax admits that he was wrong to leave her and to think that he had to rescue Jerry again. He says that all that really matters is her and the boys. Carly says that she will be angry and yell when they get home, but she can't right now. He promises to never leave her again and they kiss. Carly tells Jax that she didn't get much done with the Montreal hotel because a lot went on this summer. It's awkward between them as she tries to make conversation and it becomes clear that they're going to struggle for a while. He says that he wasn’t going to die and leave her a "rich, angry widow." Carly says that Irina tortured him and wanted to hurt everyone. "That's why she lied, right? You didn't really sleep with her." Carly tells Jax.

Jerry is taking care of Irina's body. Before he zips up the body bag, he tells her to rest in peace and then kisses her. As he throws her overboard, he tells her that he loves her.
Sonny goes to Kate's door and asks how close she is to Trevor.

Trevor is at the Metro Court bar calling Anthony Zacchara. He says that they will have a problem with Corinthos, but they can talk tomorrow. Ric show sup and Trevor asks what took him so long.

Much to Lucky's dismay, Sam goes home without a guard. Lucky and Amelia decide to get a table so they can talk about the security at the "Everyday Heroes" set. Amelia promptly tells Lucky that Sam is out to sleep with him to get even with Liz.

Sam goes home and finds Jason sitting in the dark. "We need to talk," he quietly tells her.

Carly asks Jax if he slept with Irina.

Trevor tells his son to drop all charges against Kate.

Sonny asks Kate if Trevor is her lover.

Jason screams at Sam, "What's WRONG WITH YOU!"
