Sam and Jason are fighting off Alcazar's hit men and Sam ends up shooting one of them. Amelia is scared out of her mind as she calls 911.
Craig has drawn a gun on Patrick but Robin throws herself in front of him and begs for the plan to stay the same. She says that Patrick will go on acting as if he thinks she and Nikolas are together. Craig fires the gun in their direction and is upset that the bloody gun is still "pulling to the left." He tells them that for now, Patrick is free to go as long as he keeps his mouth shut. If he doesn't, Robin will pay for it with another gunshot wound. Patrick leaves, begrudgingly, and Craig tells Robin to go to the hospital and keep an eye on him. Nikolas is left behind. He asks Craig how longs he expects to keep up the charade? Nikolas reminds him that a new identity won't stop a bullet if Sonny and Jason get wind of who he is. Nikolas tells him that he can use his flat in London or Zurich, why Port Charles? Craig says that the only way he'd leave is if Robin or "patty" slip up. Then he'd kill them and go elsewhere.
Lucky is making his case for Jason as the baby's Godfather to Liz. Emily comes over and Lucky is happy to ask her opinion. Emily and Liz exchange knowing looks as Lucky suggests that Nikolas would make a good Godfather. Just then, Lucky is called into work because of the shooting on the "Everyday Heroes" set, so he leaves the discussion for now. After he's gone, Liz tells Emily that Lucky just wants to thank Jason for always helping them out. Then Liz asks Emily how she's doing. Emily says that she still doesn't understand why Nikolas ended it with her, but the hospital is keeping her so busy that she can't even think much about it. Then, she leaves for another shift at the hospital.
Jax is elated to see that his mother has arrived in Port Charles to check in on him. He brings her up to spend on how he and Carly have somehow made it through the challenges that Sonny has provided these past few months. He is happy to report that Carly has finally chosen him and they will marry on Friday. Lady Jane is thrilled for him because Jerry will never give her a grandchild.
Carly has brought Michael and Morgan's b-day gifts over to Sonny. She says that the boys wouldn't want him to be alone on his birthday. Sonny opens the gifts and is touched when he realizes that they've given him "used" gifts. Morgan has wrapped the car that Santa gave him and Michael has wrapped a framed picture of Carly. "I guess I have something to remember you by," Sonny smiles at Carly. She tells him that she'll see him all the time after she's married. He says that the divorce is a mistake and then asks her if this is really what she wants. He kisses her and asks her again. Carly cries and tells him that he's using his hold on her and that's not fair. She asks him to let her go. She tells him that she can't do it, so he has to. He says that all he ever wanted was for her to be happy. He thinks for a minute and then says, "I hope you will be." She quietly thanks him, pauses at the door and then leaves.
Lucky and Rodriquez arrive on the set of "Everyday Heroes". Cruz gets the story from Amelia and Lucky questions Jason and Sam. Amelia tells Detective Cruz that the guys came with a message for Jason and seemed surprised when he showed up. They started firing and Sam had to kill the guy because he was coming after her. After Jason is allowed to leave, Amelia tells him that she can't promote a mob moll who kills someone during a shootout. She says that he needs to stay away from Sam in public from now on. The cops tell Jason that he is free to go, and Amelia says that she needs Sam to stay behind to work on the PR nightmare that they are about to face. Mayor Floyd arrives and Amelia blackmails him to keep today's shooting as quiet as possible. Her weapon? She says that on the heels of the Metro Court Crisis, this story could cost the Port Charles' economy and his reputation. Floyd agrees to go away for now, but says all bets are off if Ms. McCall and her mobster boyfriend leave any more bodies in their wake. Before Sam leaves for the day, Amelia asks if it bothers her that a man died because of her? Sam flashes back to the scene in which she shot Bill Monroe. (He was beating her and she pulled the trigger of a shotgun as he was coming toward her.)
At the hospital, Noah and Patrick are disagreeing about various hospital policies. Noah says that ever since he and Robin broke up he's become an arrogant bastard again. Robin shows up and Patrick whispers to her that he wants to help her to isolate the toxin. She yells at him to mind his own business and Noah tells them to keep their personal drama out of the hospital. As he's telling them that the hospital has enough problems right now, Emily gets off the elevator and hears the whole thing. Later she tells Noah that it can't be easy working with the person who broke up with you.
Jason goes rushing over to Sonny's to tell him about the shooting. Jason suggests that they move on Alcazar ASAP, but Sonny says that nothing will happen until after Carly's wedding. Jason is surprised to hear that Sonny is okay with Carly marrying Jax, and Sonny explains that he thinks he has not choice but to let her go. Jason agrees.
Carly arrives at home and has to hide her sadness from Jax. He tells her that they won't have to send an invitation to Lady Jane because she's already arrived and is excited to hear their news. Carly smiles and snuggles into his embrace. She admits that she just came from Sonny's because of the b-day gifts. She says that she didn't invite him to the wedding, and he's not to worry about Sonny interfering anymore. Jax doesn't seem to notice that she is tearful as she declares her love for him and hugs him.
Patrick and Robin meet up in the locker room and she warns him to stay out of the Mr. Craig situation for now. He tells her that he hates it, but it's better than thinking that he bailed on him. She tells him that she'll never bail on him and they kiss. Emily walks into the locker room and sees them.
Nikolas hangs up the phone and tells Craig that his new identity is complete. Craig says that he thinks another name change is in order. He says that he's already had several identities and "I'm already on my 2nd face." He says that he doesn't want to have to do "that" again and admits that he hates losing control while under anesthesia.
Lucky gets home and tells Liz about the shooting and Jason's involvement. He says that as grateful as he is that Jason has always been there for them, he just can't have such a dangerous guy as his child's Godfather. He asks Liz if she's upset and she hugs him and says that she's not upset at all.
A really sad song plays as Sonny is looking at the photo of Carly on his desk. He flashes back to all of their heartbreaking times together. She's telling him to let go, she's telling him that she loves him but they can't be together, she's telling him that she needs to be free of him, etc.
Jax and Carly are working on their guest list and sipping wine. Jerry calls and Jax tells him that he is marrying Carly on Friday. He says how much he'd love to have his big brother there. Then, we hear Jerry's voice on the other end of the phone saying that he won't be able to make it.
Mr. Craig is on the phone at Wyndemere. He's saying that he won't be able to make it to the wedding, "Sorry Bro."
