It's been a year since Jesse's death and she opens up to Coop about it, Alan visits with his beloved sister and Liz realizes that Lucky's job is dangerous too!

Sam is sleeping on the sofa. She's having a horrible nightmare and wakes up just as Jason comes through the front door. He brings her some tea and apologizes for being so late. He says that one of their shipments was held up in customs so he rode his bike to clear his head while he waited. She tells him that she's sorry about all the press hanging around lately. She wonders if she should quit her new TV job.

There has been a cop shooting at the waterfront and Lucky was able to pull his fellow officer, Brad, to safety. When Lucky gets to the hospital to check on him, Maxi asks what happened. He tells her that he knows that seeing a cop come in injured isn't easy for her -- especially today. (It's the anniversary of Jesse's death.) Maxi can't handle the kid gloves, so she mouths off to him about Jesse being dead and her making so many mistakes this past year. "But it's nothing compared to what Elizabeth is doing to you," Maxi says just as Liz reaches the nurses desk. Liz asks Maxi what she's talking about. Maxi tells Lucky that Liz doesn't love him, that she just feels sorry for him. Liz tells Maxi that she is in love with her husband. Later, Rodriguez arrives at the hospital to see how Brad is doing. Elizabeth reports that he is still in surgery, but it looks like he's going to make it. Rodriguez tells Liz that Lucky saved their friend's life because he put his own life on the line. Liz's expression changes to worry.

In the Q study, Alan and Tracy continue their ghostly dialogue. She tells him that she did him a favor by altering his will because he left his money to the unborn children of Jason! She contends that Jason is a thug and gold diggers are his taste in women - just like his Uncle Alan. Just then, thunder booms and a bolt of lightening flashes and Alan smugly says, "I wish I could do that when I was alive." Tracy threatens to get some garlic and holy water if he won't leave. Alan says that he's a ghost, not a vampire. Alice has entered the room to announce that Jax has arrived to see her, and she and Jax have witnessed the entire (one-sided) conversation. Jax has come to the Q house for a meeting that Alan has called.

Skye arrives in the study followed by Dillon, Monica and Edward. Monica announces that she and Edward are contesting the validity of Alan's will. Jax speaks as Michael's trustee and says that Michael's interests are well served, so he has no problems with the will as it is. They all argue over whether or not to fight the will and Alan is contributing little barbs, only no one but Tracy hears them. Skye says that she might just question the will herself "if only to drag you hyenas to court." Alan proudly says, "That's my girl!" Everyone leaves, but Dillon hangs back in the doorway to hear his mother continue her argument with Alan. Finally, he says, "Mom, Uncle Alan is dead." Tracy tells her son that she knows her brother is dead. Then, as Dillon starts to sit in the chair, Tracy stops him. Dillon figures out that Tracy thinks Alan is sitting in the chair because she has a guilty conscience! Dillon says that if this gets out, she could lose her CEO title at ELQ.

Stan and Sonny are talking in Sonny's office. Sonny says that he's going to use the hotel labor negotiations to buy time so that Carly can come to the realization that she doesn't want a divorce. Just then Lainey arrives for Sonny's scheduled therapy session. Sonny tries to blow her off because he has business with Stan, but she insists that she is the one with the appointment. Stan leaves and tells Sonny to call him when he's done with "the dictator." In his session with Dr. Winters, Sonny says that he just needs time to show Carly that they belong together. Lainey thinks that he has too much work to do on himself before he considers making a future with Carly. His little issue with forgiveness, for starters. He tells his shrink that Carly just slept with Jax, and asks how's that for forgiveness? Lainey asks if he can deal with it if his marriage does end in divorce.

Carly goes to Jason's with a favor. She tells him that as it turns out, Jax and Alexis didn't sleep together, so she should've been more understanding. She tells Jason that Sonny needs to back off so that her chances with Jax aren't ruined. Jason tells her that she has to be the one to end it with Sonny.

Sam arrives to her photo shoot late. Amelia is angry with her for being late and looking so tired. She says that the photos that they are taking today will be all over billboards and she needs to project a strong image. As the makeup artist reaches out to hold Sam's head still, Sam flashes to a scene from her past in which she was struggling with a man. She jerks her head and tells the makeup artist to get his hands off of her! When Sam realizes what she's done, she apologizes and says that she just didn't get enough sleep. She asks Amelia what if she decides that her new career isn't worth sacrificing her personal life? Amelia reminds her that she's doing this to help empower people and she gets a whole new wardrobe for doing it! Sam says that she won't blow this amazing opportunity.

Stan goes to the hospital to visit his mother (Epiphany). She asks him if he had anything to do with the cop shooting today. He says that he was in Sonny's office this morning and none of "Sonny's people" had anything to do with it. Epiphany chaffs at the term "Sonny's people" and asks him if that's what he is wasting his brilliant mind on. Dr. Winters approaches the nurse's desk and Stan gets some attitude and leaves.

Maxi has gone to the Metro Court to ask Coop if he can get out of work early so that they can go out dancing tonight. Coop asks her what is bothering her. She says that she will keep his secret about being part of the hostage crisis, but if he wants to be a cop he shouldn't expect her to sit around and worry about him. He pulls her aside and asks her again, what is bothering her. She tells him about her boyfriend's shooting last year and ends up crying. Coop is a good listener. She says that Jesse was a good person and all he got was her. She says if she really loved him, she would've honored his memory, but instead she trashed her life. "Why do you blame yourself for living?" Coop asks has he moves in for a tender kiss.
Sky is making a cell phone call from the Metro Court lobby. Jax overhears some of her conversation and asks her, "Please tell me you're not actually thinking about going up against Sonny." He tells her to get out of the mob for her and Lila's sake. "I can't." she says.

Carly goes to Sonny's office and asks him to call off the hotel worker's labor strike. He says that the union called the grievance, not him. She says that it's not fair to the workers who are about to walk off their jobs just so that they can spend time together. He admits that he created the situation because he's running out of options. "How else am I supposed to spend time with you?" She says that spending time together won't change anything. He says that he can feel how much she wants to be with him. She wipes a tear off of her face and Sonny tells her to count to ten and let her fear pass. He says that he'd rather take her on a date than do a union negotiation with her. Carly tells him that she's going to go on a date with Jax. He is surprised to hear that, and tells her that she has to stop running from him. She tells him to call a strike if he wants to, then leaves.
Sam is in the middle of her photo shoot and trying to warm up to it. Amelia is called away to see some photos. Her assistant has found a picture of Susan Curtis -- who looks just like Sam -- but he hasn't found one yet of the woman named Linda. Amelia tells him to keep looking.

Liz and Jason have run into each other on the waterfront. He can tell that something is bothering her and she admits that it's the cop shooting that has her scared. She finally realizes that Lucky's job is almost as dangerous and his and she promised him that their baby would have a safer life with her and Lucky. "Are you with Lucky because you thought his work was less dangerous than mine?" Jason asks. Liz says that she loves Lucky, that's why she's with him. She's just afraid for him. Her baby kicks her in the ribs and she slowly realizes that Jason wants to feel it. She tells him that the baby kicked during her last ultrasound. Jason admits that he'd like to see it, and Liz offers to get him a cop of the photo. He says that as long as she and the baby are happy, he's okay the situation. As Jason's hand rests on Liz's belly, Lucky comes upon them and sees the whole thing.
