Carly's options are running out, Sam and Edward form a liaison, Liz's suspicions about Maxi's pregnancy grow and it looks like Dillon blown his ELQ internship.
Sonny knocks on Carly's (barricaded) door. He tells her he's not going away. Finally she lets him in, but doesn't give him eye contact. When she declares that she intends to marry Jax no matter what, Sonny asks putting him in prison will help her avoid her feelings for him.
At home, Sam appears as if she's ready for work, but she tells Jason that she quit her job yesterday during her argument with Liz. And Miss Snead. And Epiphany. He asks if she's sure that's what she wants to do. She says it's just better for everyone. She asks Jason how he'd feel if she went to Edward for a job at ELQ. He doesn't want her to get pulled into the family craziness, but he won't stand in her way.
Ready to start a new shift at the hospital, Epiphany tells Liz that Lorenzo was resuscitated last night. She puts Liz in charge of checking his vitals. Liz goes into his room and Skye is holding his hand and asking him to wake up. Liz notices something odd about Lorenzo's tubes and goes for a doctor. After Robin and Patrick arrive, they realize that someone has tampered with the IV. Patrick wants to call the police.

In the Quartermaine foyer Lulu tells Dillon that she's convinced that Monica stole the date book from her book bag. Dillon tells her to go look through all the bedrooms. He promises to "occupy" the family until she finds something.

At Kelly's, Georgie is doing her research work and Maxi grills her about her feelings about Professor Pete. Guess who walks in? Pete. He joins Georgie who impresses him with all the info she's uncovered about Clark Cable and Judy Garland. Maxi asks the Professor if it's his standard practice to keep students in his apartment until 2 am? He does a good job of explaining the work he and Georgie are doing, but Maxi doesn't believe that nothing is going on. Pete invites Georgie over to read another chapter tonight and she accepts.

Sonny tells Carly that avoiding prison is more important to him right now than her love for Jax. If she really doesn't want to help him out by marrying him, she could probably avoid testifying by moving to a country with no extradition treaty. Which is worse, he asks her.

Dillon has called a meeting in the study and the grumpy family isn't pleased. Even Alice has been invited. After the study door is closed, Dillon offers coffee, but no one is interested. They start sniping at each other and Dillon just lets them go for it.

Lucky and Detective Cruse have arrived to the hospital to hear more about Alcazar's case. Patrick explains that Lorenzo should've never gone into cardiac arrest; something else must have caused the sudden drop in blood pressure. Robin concurs. Lucky asks Elizabeth if she saw anyone around Lorenzo's room last night while she was working? Anyone…like Jason? She said he was there, but didn't go anywhere near Lorenzo's room. He brought Carly in to see Skye. Liz asks if anyone has considered that Manny Ruiz's brother is lurking around? They agree to question him.

Patrick and Robin leave the police to do their work. Robin asks him if he's noticed how hard it is to be objective at work since they've become so close personally. He asks what she has in mind. "Since I have no intention of breaking up with you, I think we shouldn't work so closely any more," she says.

Maxi has clocked in at the hospital to start her shift. She runs into Lucky and pretends to fall down. She says she's having cramps from the miscarriage and Liz rushes over and asks if she should call Dr. Lee. Maxi says she'll be fine.

Carly barges in on Alexis at home and tells her it's time to pay her back for all the kindness she's shown lately. She asks for "hypothetical" legal advice. What if someone sees one gangster about to shoot another gangster? Alexis tells her to cut to the chase. So Carly explains the whole thing and asks how she can avoid talking the stand without marrying Sonny. Alexis says that Carly should just take the stand because Ric will have to prove guilt, and he can't do it. Carly says she isn't going to leave her entire future in the hands of Ric.

At Sonny's house, he admits to Jason that it hurts his feelings a little bit that Carly acts like marrying him is as bad as an apocalypse. Jason assures him that as soon as Carly reminds everyone how much she loves Jax; she'll realize a "marriage of convenience" to Sonny is the only way to go. "Who says it would be a marriage of convenience?" Sonny asks. Jason says that Carly will marry him to save him, but it would be unfair to take advantage of the situation. Sonny says if they are married, all he needs to do is get her to remember the good times. He promises Jason that he won't hurt her again. Just then Max brings in Michael and Morgan with suitcases. Michael announces, "We thought we'd move in since you and Mom are getting married again."

The Quartermines have wound down and it's time for Dillon to start his "schpeel" to kill time while Lulu looks for the date book. He says that his conscience is bothering him regarding the ELQ faulty condom situation. He wants them to discuss how they can treat the public ethically, perhaps pay out all the settlements. Alice suggests that Dillon goes back to film school because ELQ's morals won't bother him so much—and he had a much better hair cut. Edward and Tracy argue a while and then he says that he was born into a wild pack of hyenas. Just then Sam arrives and asks Tracy for a job.
Dillon meets Lulu at Kelly's to see what she found. He reports to Lulu that he can probably kiss his ELQ internship goodbye now that he's told his family what he thinks of their company. Lulu is touched that he would do that for her and her mother's case. She thanks him for his efforts, but reports that she couldn't find the date book.

Georgie is at work at the hospital now. She sees Maxi leaving work early and asks why. Maxi explains that she just took a fall and it shook her up. They argue for a while about Maxi's motivation to win Lucky's love in spite of his marriage to Liz. Maxi tells Georgie how close she and Lucky have grown since her miscarriage. Maxi tells Georgie that he tells her things that Liz doesn't pay attention to anymore. His dreams, his love of music, his desire to spending time in Manhattan. Georgie is disgusted to learn that Maxi actually believes she has a chance with him.

Tracy goes over Sam's resume and basically makes fun of her. Edward walks into the room and says there is always a place for family in ELQ. And, since Jason loves Sam, she's family. Tracy leaves the room in disgust, but listens outside the door. Edward tells Sam that salvage work isn't a career for a pregnant woman. He says if his favorite grandson, Jason, is going to be a father one day, that child should grow up with a better kind of future than the business Jason is in. In fact, Jason's child will be the chosen heir of ELQ, Edward pronounces. Tracy is steaming.
Skye pays Jason a visit. After he lets her in, she offers to let Jason frisk her. He doesn't, but asks why she's there. She tells him that someone injected Lorenzo with a drug that was supposed to have caused a heart attack. He is surprised to hear that and she believes him. Skye says she wants him to help her figure out who else wants Lorenzo dead. Jason tells Skye that she should cut Alcazar loose because he has some powerful friends who can turn into powerful enemies. They are untraceable government people, not just mobsters. Skye says that there are some people worth risking your life for. The "other parent" of your child is one of them. Jason just stares at her.
Robin sees Mateo near Lorenzo's room and rushes over to tell him that he can't see Lorenzo. He realizes that. He's on his way to see another patient. Over Robin's shoulder lurks the same guy that was hanging around Skye during Lorenzo's surgery. No one sees him.
Liz goes to Dr. Lee and asks why in the world Maxi would still be cramping. Dr. Lee says she doesn't think that she should be. Epiphany asks Liz if she's still wondering if Maxi faked her pregnancy. Liz explained that she saw Maxi pretend to fall today. So, she could've easily done the same thing the night she "fell" down the stairs at Kelly's, Liz suggests.

As soon as Sonny saw the boys and their suitcases, he called Carly. When she gets there, they figure out that the boys must have overhead Sonny and Carly talking last night. Carly calls the boys downstairs and announces that she cannot, and will not, marry Sonny again. Just then Sonny's attorney, Diane, enters the room and says that marriage is the only option. Carly rolls her eyes. Diane hands over a subpoena for Carly that says she has to appear in court next week to give her statement. Unless she has a wedding ring on. "How does Monday look for our 4th wedding day?" Sonny asks.
