Carly frantically tries to find another way to help Sonny, Monica tells Alan what Lulu has found, Sam defends her turf, and Skye bares fangs we never knew she had!
"Nikolas please slow down!" Emily demands as they race to the address that the daycare director gave them. Nikolas has his gun ready in case he needs it.

At the hospital, Sam tells Liz to leave Jason alone. "Can I have my scarf back?" Liz flatly asks her. Liz proclaims that she's not about to end a friendship that started long before Sam came to town. Sam tells Liz that she thinks Liz is trying to figure out a way to bail on Lucky so she can get Jason back. Ms. Sneed hears them and threatens to put them on report, but Epiphany throws her weight around and Miss Sneed scampers off.
Epiphany says to Sam, "Elizabeth Spencer risked her career to break you out of here, do you know why? Because Jason Morgan asked her to." Then she reminds Sam that she let herself be thrown in front of a bunch of trigger happy cops because Jason needed her help trying to find Sam. Epiphany asserts, "You need to be grateful that we helped you when you needed it." Sam decides to make everyone's life a whole lot easier. "I quit."
Carly tells Jason that there is no way that she is going to marry Sonny to keep him from going to prison. She says she loves Jax and they are going to elope. In fact, she wants to know if Sonny had anything to do with Jerry Jax's "Mob" problems. Jason gets her back on the subject of Sonny and prison. She says that she's not going to do it. Jason finally gets through to her and she cries. "Do you know how hard I have worked?" She explains that she's already felt herself slipping a little with Sonny and this will put her over the cliff.
As Lorenzo is wheeled off to surgery, Skye kisses him and asks Patrick if she's making the right decision. He and Robin explain the risks with and without the surgery again. Patrick goes off with Lorenzo and leaves Skye with Robin. Skye comments on how confident Patrick sounds. "But then again, I've always been fond of arrogant men", Skye finds a little humor in the situation.

At the Q's, Lulu and Dillon are talking about what a gold mine Rick Webber's date book is. Lulu says they need to start calling the numbers. "We?" Dillon asks. He says he has an econ test; it's not really his mystery to solve. "It is if the murderer is a Quartermaine," she tells him. Ding dong. Alice answers the Q front door to find her biggest fan – Spinelli! He compliments "the Dominator" on her performance in the ring last night and then Lulu steals him away. She and Dillon tell Spinelli about the date book, and that the same phone number appears in the date book on the day that Rick was murdered and the day before. It's possible that is the number of the killer. Guess who is eavesdropping? Monica.
Tracy finds Monica and asks, "Who are you spying on?" Monica explains that Dillon, Lulu and Spinelli are "at it" again. Once more, Monica tries to encourage Tracy to send Lulu out of town. Then she issues a little sisterly challenge, "You won't do it because she's your ticket to Luke."
Lorenzo is in surgery. Alan has scrubbed in to observe, even though he thinks the surgery is a mistake. "That's the father of my granddaughter on the table" he says. Skye is watching the surgery from an observation room overhead. Patrick is able to remove the shrapnel, but Lorenzo's BP drops. Patrick demands that someone suctions all the blood out and, it gets tense for a minute. Alan gives Skye a worried look. Then the BP stabilizes and it seems as if the surgery is successful. (During all of this, there's a strange man watching Skye as she nervously looks down on the OR. He vanishes before she can see him.)
Carly and Jason go to the hospital to see how Alcazar is doing. Carly goes off for a minute and Jason sees Father Mateo doing a good deed for a patient. Epiphany finds Jason and explains about Sam and Elizabeth's confrontation. She tells Jason to make Sam back off. Just then Liz finds Jason. Jason apologizes for what Sam did, but Liz says that Sam has a point.

Lorenzo is back in his room and Patrick explains to Skye that the surgery went as planned. All they can do is wait to see if there will be any brain damage. Carly comes in to see how he's doing. Skye goes off on her and says that Sonny's been getting away with murder for years and it's going to stop. Every time Carly tries to speak, Skye is ferocious with her. It looks like Carly has met her match.
Tracy offers to show Spinelli to the door, but Lulu decides to leave with him. Tracy goes after Lulu and makes her stay behind for a little chat. Lulu drops her book bag in the foyer and they go into the study. Dillon admits to his mother that they are doing a little research but isn't willing to add more. Lulu cuts to the chase and asks, "How serious was Monica about Rick Webber?" Tracy is stunned by the question. Lulu persists by asking how upset Monica was when Rick died. In the foyer, Monica is digging through Lulu's book bag. Just as she finds the date book, Alan comes up from behind. Monica tells him what Lulu is up to and what she has found.

Carly frantically comes through the door of her house and finds Jane in her living room. She implores Jane to use her motherly intuition and find Jax so they can get married right away. Just then Max comes over and Carly pounces on him and asks him to marry her. His face is priceless; you can tell he is tempted. Always the professional man, he knows "the boss' won't like it, so he has to decline. Carly tells him that he missed his chance and then writes a big fat "NO" on a piece of paper and tells Max to take it to sonny. After he's gone, she sends Jane on a mission to find Jax and barricades the door.
Bobby finds Liz at the nurses' desk and asks what Miss Snead is being an "equal opportunity pain in the butt" over. Liz explains about her confrontation with Sam. Bobby says that she can empathize with Sam. She explains that once she was the bad girl from the wrong side of the tracks who's in love with a guy that spends time with a beautiful girl. (This is Bobby's history. Years ago she loved Scotty Baldwin, who ended up marrying Laura!) Bobby explains that Sam has some insecurities; that's all.

Jason comes home and before he can say anything, Sam admits that she did something really stupid. Jason says that he knows the whole story. Sam admits that she thinks of him and Liz sleeping together in their home all the time. She tells him that she doesn’t know if she can get past that. Jason says he understands how she feels. He assures her that it will never happen again. Sam admits that she's jealous because Jason will always be the one to step up and help Liz out. "You have nothing to worry about, I love you," he tells her. Sam tells him that once they have a family of their own, maybe things will change.
In Lorenzo's room, Robin tells Skye to go home and rest until morning. Lorenzo won't wake up until then. Skye realizes that her baby probably needs her; so she agrees to go. After Lorenzo is left alone, someone with black gloves comes in an inject something into his IV.

Gun in hand, Nikolas and Emily walk up to a door that they think is Colleen's. Nikolas kicks the door. They go in and find an empty apartment. As Emily is looking around, she finds a picture of Spencer.

Tracy admits to Lulu that Monica once carried a pretty big torch for Rick, but says that has nothing to do with his death. She assures Lulu that her mother just made a mistake that night. As Tracy leaves the room, she announces that Monica's idea about Lulu going to college out of state is sounding like a pretty good idea. Lulu and Dillon agree that they must be getting close to the truth. Dillon tells her that he can't continue with this stuff. He reminds her that the "old Dillon" was the guy who was interested in adventure and plots. Determined, Lulu declares that she's moving on without him. She walks out to the foyer to retrieve the date book from her book bag. It's missing.

"I'm in the mood to celebrate my own brilliance" Patrick says; then he kisses Robin right outside of Lorenzo's room. So much for romance…Lorenzo's machines are going of. Patrick and Robin rush in to find that he's in, cardiac arrest.
