Welcome to my first official blog as the new GH writer for Soaps.com! I’m looking forward to ranting and raving about one of my all time favorite soaps and reading your thoughts as well!
So let’s get on with it…
I loved Jax with Carly last week. I’m so happy Michael’s condition isn’t pushing Carly and Sonny together and that Jax is there for her like a real husband would be. There’s no limo sex between Carly and Sonny and Jax isn’t turning to Olivia in a romantic way. It’s more real and definitely refreshing to see people supporting their partners and friends during a crisis instead of having grief sex.
Speaking of Michael, his waking up was creepy wasn’t it? When Lulu looked up and saw his eyes were suddenly bulging open with that spotlight shining on him, it was a little scary. But now that he’s awake, it’s sure to change things a bit on the canvas as the spoilers are indicating that Michael will not be the son Carly remembers. I’m not entirely sure why, but Michael is going to be angry with his mother and while I know this will create drama and shake up the status quo a bit, I don’t know that I like this. Of course it could also be a good thing, so I will reserve judgment.
I do hope Michael’s waking up will bring out Claudia’s secret, which is one of the worst kept secrets in Port Charles right now. Mostly because I don’t really believe Sonny would just wait around allowing Claudia to live in his house while he suspects she is responsible for his son’s shooting. Even if she is pregnant, the Sonny I know would take action first and find out the truth later.

I would also like Alexis to have her own storyline, which brings me to Ric. I loved Alexis and Ric as a couple. They were both flawed, but understood and accepted each other, until of course he slept with her daughter. They totally ruined one of the best couples on this show and now Ric is leaving. It’s a total bummer, but at least he will pop up on The Bold and the Beautiful. Rick Hearst is too good an actor for another soap not to scoop him up, but Ric Lansing had so much potential to be truly fascinating and multi-layered, yet every time they tried to redeem him or let him move on, they would eventually reduce him to just being Sonny’s little brother looking for his acceptance.
As for the other storylines, I’m not much interested in Kate sabotaging her own magazine, or Ethan being Luke’s son, so I don’t have much to say on those topics. Holly coming back might be interesting, but we’ll see. I do wish Olivia would have more to do. Again, spoilers are saying she and Johnny will hook up, which I am looking forward to because she’s got a lot of potential and they aren’t maximizing it right now. I also think Olivia and Sonny would make a good couple and I hope that’s where they are eventually going with it, even if she is his ex-fiancée’s cousin. Only in soaps and on "Jerry Springer" do people pass their lovers around so freely.
That’s all I got for now. It should be a good week as Michael’s reemergence will certainly be the main focus. I’ll be back next Monday to dish on the development, but in the meantime, share your thoughts below!
