Come back! (Soaps.com)
Julie's General Blogspittle
(Week of May 4 - 8)

I just love that tension that's clogging the air in the family waiting room at GH. Claudia steps out and everyone can breathe again. She comes back in and every other face in the room tightens. I've always known that I pick up on the stress from people around me but I wasn't quite sure that I also do it via 'my TV people' as well! When Claudia started babbling about her glowingly healthy pregnancy all I could think of was Jennifer Aniston's now famous line about being 'missing a sensitivity chip'. But we've always known that about Claudia. It's Claudia's world and we're all just living in it. No, wait, it's Maxie's world and we're all just living in it. I think I just hit on a major characteristic on the making of a soap diva - she must be egocentric. In any case, I wouldn't care if Michael's surgery lingered for a while just to be able to enjoy (and suffer through!) that delicious dynamic in the waiting room. My personal favorite was when Sonny busted Jason and Carly taking their deep cleansing breaths and playfully asked if he was breathing right.

What I don't necessarily need to see is a lot of tense moments in the OR. I'm just not buying that Patrick, Matt and Liz can pull off a medical condition as precarious as Michael's. Isn't Liz still oozing tequila out of her pores? If Dr. Hansen wasn't available I would have at least insisted on Derrick McSteamy Sheperd. Oops, there I go again confusing my ABC TV medical dramas.

How did you guys feel when Lucky and Liz decided to make another go of it whilst eating Eli's ribs? That's right, if you missed it it's because you likely nodded off, but they are officially on again. As much as their reunion makes sense on paper, I just don't feel it between them anymore. In real life more of us than we'd care to admit have likely struck such a deal with ourselves to spend our child raising years in a comfortable home life, but such normalcy just doesn't work in soaps.

Attracted to danger. (Soaps.com)
What's up with Kate? I mean, I know that she's back to being a loveless career monger, but gees, harsh much? I, for one, am thrilled that Spinelli is softening towards his lovely Maximista and apparently it's the fear of Kate that has sequestered them in a car with orange soda and chips.

So it would appear that Luke's loins did not produce the nefarious Ethan Lovett. Or so Tracy would have us believe, eh? As always, Tony Geary played his thinly masked disappointment to perfection. What I really loved by the end of the week was the playful and cunning demeanor showed by his female spawn. Lulu seems to come alive when in cahoots with her dad, doesn't she?

My favorite line last week was a doozy. Remember when Sonny was justifying to Olivia how in the world Claudia got pregnant? He told her that he had no reason not to sleep with her. Olivia, like a true pal, mentioned that he could've woken up with his throat slit and Sonny replied, "That was part of the attraction."

So there you have it guys, everything that meant anything to me last week. You?

I think the part about Claudia mentioning her pregnancy going well was normal and that everyone was a bit harsh on her, after all, Sonny DID ask while in the waiting room and she just answered. If anyone should have everyone coming down on them, it's Sonny for asking in the waiting room. Sure Carly's pregnancy isn't going well BUT Claudia was just answering her husband's question.

Claudia was the epitome of insensitivity this week. Sonny doesn't seem to have any problem ordering her to go upstairs at home so why should he be reluctant to tell her to leave at the hospital.

I am not that thrilled about Liz and Lucky getting back together. If she can't be with Jason, I would rather see her with someone new. I think she would be good with Matt. TPTB have a great character but don't seem to know what to do with him in the romance department.

I would like to see Spinelli grow up. I am weary of his childish behavior.

As for Sonny's conversation with Olivia just proves what a pig he is. The same could be said for Luke. The writers would have us believe that Luke would be unfaithful to Laura during the happiest times of his marriage.

Nope, did not nod off as Lucky and Elizabeth ate the ribs.
Did you see the later scene with Elizabeth and Luke were she tried to talk some sense into Luke about Lucky? And Luke had the audacity to say that Lucky might feel trapped as he supposedly did? What kind of a comment was that from a father? I mean really?!
That scene was a really good one for Elizabeth and very ironic. She told Luke: "I don't think Lucky feels trapped. I think he loves us." Good for her! About the most real scene I've seen in a long time. Would you rather her hook back up with killer Jason? I've never understood why some viewers could find any credence in that relationship. Plays Elizabeth for a boob. Going after a gangster. She found out where that got her before when her son was kidnapped.
