(Week of May 4 - 8)
I just love that tension that's clogging the air in the family waiting room at GH. Claudia steps out and everyone can breathe again. She comes back in and every other face in the room tightens. I've always known that I pick up on the stress from people around me but I wasn't quite sure that I also do it via 'my TV people' as well! When Claudia started babbling about her glowingly healthy pregnancy all I could think of was Jennifer Aniston's now famous line about being 'missing a sensitivity chip'. But we've always known that about Claudia. It's Claudia's world and we're all just living in it. No, wait, it's Maxie's world and we're all just living in it. I think I just hit on a major characteristic on the making of a soap diva - she must be egocentric. In any case, I wouldn't care if Michael's surgery lingered for a while just to be able to enjoy (and suffer through!) that delicious dynamic in the waiting room. My personal favorite was when Sonny busted Jason and Carly taking their deep cleansing breaths and playfully asked if he was breathing right.
What I don't necessarily need to see is a lot of tense moments in the OR. I'm just not buying that Patrick, Matt and Liz can pull off a medical condition as precarious as Michael's. Isn't Liz still oozing tequila out of her pores? If Dr. Hansen wasn't available I would have at least insisted on Derrick McSteamy Sheperd. Oops, there I go again confusing my ABC TV medical dramas.
How did you guys feel when Lucky and Liz decided to make another go of it whilst eating Eli's ribs? That's right, if you missed it it's because you likely nodded off, but they are officially on again. As much as their reunion makes sense on paper, I just don't feel it between them anymore. In real life more of us than we'd care to admit have likely struck such a deal with ourselves to spend our child raising years in a comfortable home life, but such normalcy just doesn't work in soaps.

So it would appear that Luke's loins did not produce the nefarious Ethan Lovett. Or so Tracy would have us believe, eh? As always, Tony Geary played his thinly masked disappointment to perfection. What I really loved by the end of the week was the playful and cunning demeanor showed by his female spawn. Lulu seems to come alive when in cahoots with her dad, doesn't she?
My favorite line last week was a doozy. Remember when Sonny was justifying to Olivia how in the world Claudia got pregnant? He told her that he had no reason not to sleep with her. Olivia, like a true pal, mentioned that he could've woken up with his throat slit and Sonny replied, "That was part of the attraction."
So there you have it guys, everything that meant anything to me last week. You?
