Get in that kitchen together! (Soaps.com)
Julie's General Blogspittle
(Week of December 1 - 5).

Boy am I lame. I mean, I realize that it was indeed Claudia who arranged the shot that ended up putting young Michael in a coma, but still, she didn't actually set out to harm the kid. See what I mean? Lame! If it were real life, I'd lobby to lock her up and throw away the key for hiring a shooter in the first place! But in soap world, I find that I rationalize away my favorite characters' misdeeds. So here I am, hoping that Sonny never finds out what his new bride ultimately did to his son. I find myself looking forward to their 'battle of the chefs' and hoping that they continue to build on their shaky (at best!) relationship.

Who else loved the scene between Patrick and Matt when they co-watched Emma? I don't know about you, but this new side of Patrick is really endearing to me. I find myself wondering how Jason Thompson feels about babies and if he's ever been around them.

I'm torn as to what Tracy should do with her oddball marriage to Luke. On one hand, I figure she should indulge her heart a while longer give it a go with him, and one the other, she's absolutely right to protect herself from further pain when Laura breezes back to Port Chuck. I'm forced to remind myself, again, that this is a soap and of course she should stick it out with Luke! If she were my real-life gal pal I supposed I'd advise her to cut her losses and protect herself. But, real life isn't nearly as fun as watching them bicker over cocktails during a monsoon. On a side note, Jane Elliot's hair cut even looks good wet!

Maxie's mouth never fails to amuse. (Soaps.com)
As for Kate and Carly's battle over Jax, at the moment I want Kate to win. I'm sick of Carly's antics. Showing up at the Crimson party wearing the same dress as Kate is childish, as is locking Kate in an elevator to get a leg up on the crowd. So far, Olivia has stolen the scene for me. Didn't she look amazing with her evening make-up and party hair? As a fellow woman who never spends more than $50 on a handbag too, that girl has my attention!

The Crowell family in Ohio is comical I suppose. As a native of the Buckeye State, I tend to cringe at the overalls and 'milk the cow' references. I mean, I wouldn't have to drive more than an hour or two to spot a cow I suppose, but there are about a dozen Starbucks and a Saks which are a whole lot closer. Aunt Raylene's homespun wisdom didn't sound nearly as podunk coming from her mouth as Nadine portrays it. She was compassionate and understanding with Nik, which was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed seeing Nik in such a different world than he's accustomed to and wasn't too surprised when he offered to marry Nadine in order to grant a dying woman her wish. Not sure how it will work out and I don't really care, I'm just glad he stepped up.

I'm sure some of you will disagree vehemently on this next point, but I’m starting to want to see Lucky and Liz back together. I'm thrilled that she's finally realizing that her fantasy world with her gun-toting dreamboat isn't exactly what would work best for her boys. Lucky is her rock and it's about time that she spend some time on Lainey's couch and learn how to love in a more realistic way. So much for my above stance on tossing real-life away in order to enjoy soap world, huh? Some characters need to be more normal, I guess, and Liz is one of them for me.

I had no trouble at all selecting the line of the week. In fact, it jumped right out at me and practically said, "Pay attention Julie, here's your line of the week!" It was when Maxie showed up at Robin's and said, "You're outfit might be cute for skid row but not for mid-town Port Charles."

So there you have it guys, everything that meant anything to me last week. You?

I have mixed feelings about Claudia and Sonny, I like their give and take, but I also like Claudia with Ric. I hate that this MOC is going to have Ric going after Sonny again, I'd like the brothers to be on the same side for once. Tracy should stick with Luke. Yeah, Carly showing up with the same dress was childish, but Kate threw the party to rub Carly's nose in the fact that she(Kate) was with Jax. So both of them were being childish. This was tame compared to some of the stunts Carly could have pulled, I'm pulling for Carly. Could have done without the Crowell visit. I also would like Lucky and Liz back together.

I did like the scenes with Patrick, Matt and Emma.

I don't care much for Claudia with Sonny. I think she sizzles with Ric. I notice all of a sudden Johnny is concerned that Sonny might find out about their part in Michael's shooting. Jerry told them if anything happened to him the truth would come out.

As for Tracy and Luke, they are becoming boring. I don't blame Tracy for wanting to end the marriage. Although Luke claims that he chose Tracy, I think he would have dropped her if Laura would come back to him.

Think it's a shame that one of the most exciting scenes this week was basically a MTV type video. Loved the song and the scenes were well done. Although I noticed Sasha got up very quickly after grabbing Sam's leg while she was trying to get Jake.

I think Liz and Lucky make a better team than Sam and Lucky. Sam and Lucky are just too different and I don't see how Lucky will accept the adventurous side of Sam. Whereas, in the last week, Lucky has been Liz's rock.

Sam is the only woman for Jason. She knows what he is and what he does and has never tried to change him. Liz will never fit into his dangerous world like Sam does. Too bad TPTB didnt realize this before they tore these two couples apart.

Yeah! I agree with you, Julie, that TPTB should put Liz and Lucky together again. I like your phrase that Liz should "learn to love in a realistic relationship."
On the other hand, I think your expectations are really low indeed when you say you are looking forward to the "battle of the chefs" (Sonny and Claudia) and that you are looking forward to their "building their relationship." There is no relationship--just a cynical arrangement! That's no fun to watch--and certainly not one to identify with in any way.

Let's hope they don't kill Sam off if they do I'm going to stop watching gh. Well the only reason I started tuning back in was,to see Sam and Jason together. But if they kill her off it will never be the same the only woman who loved him despite of what he did for a living she just loved him and wanted to be with him.

I don't know where everyone has been over the past 10 years but if anyone is Elizabeth's Rock, It is Jason. Lucky was Elizabeth's rock after her rape and that was it. Jason had been there for Liz whenever she has needed someone. It amazes me how everyone can still believe in Lucky after all of the horrible things he has done to Elizabeth. He has no belief in her ability to run her own life. He basically believes she is a failure as a mother. She is fake and weak when she is with Lucky. They need to do things Jason's way. They have never lived a life together with the guards, security, and Jason protecting them. Lucky is the one who decided to send them to the middle of the woods with no protection and no cell service. Jason and Elizabeth have to get a clue and start living for themselves and their child. They need to stop living the way everyone else wants them to. I still believe that Jason and Elizabeth will be together soon. Even if TPTB decide Jason and Elizabeth will not work they need to keep Elizabeth and Lucky apart. Lucky doesn't see Elizabeth as a strong smart woman, he still needs her to be a lonely girl so he feels better about his inability to protect her. I do like Sam and Lucky together. I think soaps need to stick to opposites attract theory. Good guys with bad girls and good girls with bad boys is always more entertaining. Liason Forever!

I am sooo tired of the back and forth with Elizabeth and Jason, just put them under the same roof already. I really want to see them as a family. I dont want Elizabeth and Lucky back together! Liz didn't have Lucky's baby she had Jason's and that is a stong bond that can't be broken.
Liz and Jason are good for each other and would make a wonderful family. Jason would be a great daddy to both kids.

I like Sam and Lucky together it should stay that way.

I for one am ready for a Liz and Luckey and Sam and Jason reunion.I am not just saying this because Sam and Jason are my favorite soap couple. I'm saying this because bI just don't see the chemistry. Like Makie said two adreniline junkies like them can't possible syay away from each other. Also Elizabeth is safe and so is Lucky, and they were teenage sweet hearts and they no they love each other. As for Sam and Jason their chemistry is undeniable the only reason Sam left is because Jason chose to lye to her about Jake and I think that she has forgave him for that and that he has forgivin her abot watching Jake get kidnapped. I just think everyone would be happier that way.

You are totally right on the Elizebeth & Lucky ordeal. I am so happy she's finally seen the truth. Although I could go withought the crying.
I am however sick of Mac being mean to Sonni. My hopes are some accident will happen and Spenelli will like learn how to speak normal. I love Maxi & Spenelli 2gether, Spenelli has made Maxi a better person and she needs to stop acting so dumb about the situation with Spenelli and date him.
Another thing, I dislike the fact that Jerry's coming back, he's going to ruin everything!
I want Jax & Carly together though. I feel terrible, Jax & Kate creeps me out. Kate can go get shot for all I care.I seem to always skip through her scenes.
