General Hospital - NEWS ROOM

If you're in the Los Angeles area on Saturday May 17 and would love to snag an autograph from some of your favorite General Hospital stars, come The Children's Hospital on 4650 Sunset Boulevard between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Actors Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily), Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), Kent Masters King (Lainey), Minae Noji (Dr. Kelly), Dominic Rains (Dr. Leo), Jason Gerhardt (ex-Coop), Yennifer Behrens (ex-Marianna) and Adrian Alvarado (Detective Rodriquez) will be on hand to give autographs and encourage people to sign up for the National Marrow Donor Program Registry.

What's the connection, you might ask? Aside from being a pretty philanthropic group of people, the GH stars are coming out in support of one of their own. Child actor Hailey Joy Kent (who has graced the sets of "Medium" and "Grey's Anatomy") is a ripe old age of 22 months now, but at just three months old when she was about to start a stint on "According to Jim" she was rushed to Children's Hospital and diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. After many blood transfusions and a stem cell transplant from an anonymous donor via the National Marrow Donor Program, Hailey's young life was saved.

Sadly, at one point or another we will all likely love someone who is in desperate need of donor marrow and Saturday May 17 is your chance to join the registry to help. All you need to do to get started is fill out some paperwork and have the inside of your cheek swabbed. Why not go out to meet some of daytime's heroes and commit to the possibility of some personal heroics as well?
