GH Welcomes Jason Cook!

General Hospital has just announced that there will be a Days of Our Lives reunion of sorts when Jason Cook (formerly Shawn Brady on DOOL) originates a new role and interacts with Kirsten Storms' character, Maxie. (Kirsten Storms used to play Belle on DOOL.)

Cook's character's name hasn't yet been released, but Soaps.com can tell you that he will play a doctor who comes to Port Charles with a secret past (is there any other kind?). His first airdate is in June and we're told that the good (or bad!) doctor will interact with Maxie Jones soon after arriving in town.

Upon hearing the news, Soaps.com's Days of our Lives Writer Christine Fix told me, "I'm so envious that you get to have him on GH, but I hope you get to see some of the DAYS posters from my board over on GH - they're thrilled he's going to be on the show!" What a great idea Chrissi, let's encourage these two groups of ardent (and vocal!) soap fans to talk to each other. Why not open a thread on their board and start the conversation? Shawn and Belle were a super couple in Salem, now let's see if any of that old chemistry can reignite when Jason Cook and Kirsten Storms share a set again in Port Charles. (Poor Spinelli.) "I'm happy to see him back on daytime, even though part of me will always mourn the 'Shelle' couple and especially their portrayal of the two!" Chrissi Fix commented.

I say that Days fans are welcome to cross over to the dark (mobster) side of soaps - the more the merrier, right GH lovers?

I am so excited. I can't wait for Jason Cook to start on GH. I loved him on Days and I mourned when he decided to leave. Welcome to General Hospital Jason. I can't wait to see if Jason and Kirsten have the same chemistry as they did on Days.

i am glad he is coming to gh, i didn't like him and belle together on days and i really hope they don't put them together on gh, they should learn from when they put mary beth evans and stephen nichols together, just cause they had chemistry on one show, doesn't mean it will be good on gh, i didn't think they had good chemistry on days. i liked martha madison and brandon beemer much better. anyway, i hope they have a good story planned for him without kirsten.

This is the best news I ever heard,I am so glad to hear Jason will be playing a new character on GH. It will be wonderful to see Jason and Kirsten...aka former belle and Shawn working together again, but i too agree, they weren't a good couple on Days but who knows what will go on between them on general hospital. But yes i have to agree with you falconboy12; martha madinson and brandan beemer played a much better shawn and belle. I hope they have a good plans with him and Kirsten.

I can't wait for him to arrive in Port Charles.

I'm excited to see him and Kirsten back together!! But I'm not sure about them hooking up...I like her with Spinelli right now!!

I cant wait for him to come to the show but i dont want him and maxie to be together. I love Spinelli and i like her and him together.

I just wanted to comment on Falconboy's comments. If you don't think they had chemistry on Days, perhaps they will have chemistry on GH???

I am hoping they don't end ANOTHER one of Spin's crushes but perhaps Maxie and new doc could be friends or enemies?

I like Jason Cook as an actor and am happy for him to be joining "our" show!

this is really good news im so excited for a belle and shawn reuion well almost maxie and new doc they should get together . jason and kirsten didnt have a happily ever after on days how about a new couple for gh.
