Tamara Braun's New Orleans Premier (December 15).

Friday, December 14 2007

Tamara Braun (ABC)
Carly #2 may have left General
Hospital
in 2005, but her lovely portrayer, Tamara Braun, has been one busy lady. Perhaps her most notable performance has been in the film festival darling, "Little Chenier" - which premiers this weekend in New Orleans. The premier is bound to be a star-studded event because it benefits the survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The movie, set in a Cajun town in the Louisiana Bayou, tells the moving story of a man who cares for his mentally challenged brother while tending
to his own broken heart. (Could Tamara be the culprit?) Tamara has said publicly that her experience with the beauty of the land and people of the region really moved her. Also starring in the film are Johnathon Schaech, Fred Koehler, Jeremy Davidson, Isabella Hofmann, Clifton Collins Jr. and Chris Mulkey.

"Little Chenier" has already won Best Picture at the Phoenix Film Festival and Best Actress (for Tamara!) at the Honolulu International Film Fest. After the New Orleans premier, the film is scheduled to release in New York, Los Angeles and other major cities. If you want to learn more about it, go to the Little Chenier Website.

Soaps.com sends a hearty congratulations to Tamara and wishes her continued success. As always, we'll be there for the ride!

I just checked the site .... the movie looks like home.... I live just outside New Orleans. I always refer to N.O. in my writing cause I'm so close to it I can "spit". My family has lived all over this fine state and I seen so many homes just like these in the photos.... UNFOTUNATLY the "after" photos are HORRIBLY ACCURATE. Many people live just the way the photographs show.... poor with not a pot to p### in but HAPPY. Katrina and Rita destroyed SO MANY lives; we will NEVER recover; a lot of people stayed in their homes that were accurately portrayed in that movie. A lot of thopse folks were never found. They died as they lived.... bound by the life they loved and wouldn't have changed a thing...... Sadly....we lost SO much and still refuse to change our way of life...AFTER ALL we ARE cajuns and this is how we live.... no tvs, phones, DOCTORS, healthcare.... BUT GUESS WHAT????? WE WOULDN'T TRADE YOUR STUFF FOR OURS FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!
