Tyler Christopher Interview & Super Soap Weekend!

Thursday, November 01 2007

Super Soap Weekend - ABC
Orlando's Disney World is about to host the largest soap event of all - Super Soap Weekend! Plan to be there on November 10th and 11th and you can partake in events such as the "Wide World of Soaps" Talk Show, celebrity motorcades, autograph sessions and star conversations along Hollywood Boulevard. There will also be live musical performances by some of soaps finest talents in the Colgate® Total® Street Jam concert.

All My Children's Susan Lucci is hosting the event this year. Also throwing in for a good time are General Hospital's Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake), Julie Marie Berman (Lulu Spencer), Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine), Josh Duhon (Logan Hayes), Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber), Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio), Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall), Sonya Eddy (Epiphany), Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), Nazanin Boniadi (Leyla Mir), Dominic Rains (Dr. Leo) and Kent King (Lainey Winters).

That's quite a list! Can you imagine talking to these guys about the Black & White ball? The November sweeps storyline revolves around Nikolas Cassadine's mysterious illness and he's really showing his acting chops. I spoke with Tyler Christopher recently and the following is what he had to say:

Julie Clark Robinson: Hello Tyler, so good to finally talk with you. I'm speaking to you from your home turf - Ohio. Does your family still live here?

Tyler Christopher: Yes, they all do. I come back a couple times every year.

JCR: Soaps.com fans are constantly speculating about who might be leaving the show. Do you mind telling us what your current contract status is?

TC: I signed on for another 3 years back in June.

JCR: If you don't mind, I'd be remiss if I didn't ask a few questions about Nikolas' current story line. How do you feel about his darker side coming out?

TC: From the acting standpoint, it's really fun to play. It's challenging and really different…it's therapy.

JCR: Do you know what's going on with him?

TC: (Laughs) I Wish I did know. We're all flying by the seat of our pants on this one.

JCR: Is there anyone in particular you'd like to see Nikolas involved with romantically, or do you think he and Emily are best suited for one another?

TC: Well, in daytime terms, they've been together for an ion - I can only say - with that evident, that maybe moving in a different direction would be good. Other characters have been (romantic) with four or five other people since Nikolas and Emily got together.

JCR: What was it like working with Sebastian Roche when he was the evil Mr. Craig/Brosnan?

TC: It was fun. It was kinda weird though, because he's a big goofball in real life.

I'll leave the rest of the questions to the fans when they attend Super Soap Weekend! For travel information, call the Super Soap Hotline at 407-397-6808 or visit ABC site. Here's a bonus - all of the ABC Super Soap Weekend festivities are included with theme park admission to the Disney-MGM Studios.

If any of you are lucky enough to attend, please be sure to share the wealth by posting some of your stories in the Soaps.com message board!
