Olivia and cousin Connie grew up like sisters in Bensonhurst, New York. In high school, Olivia dated Sonny Corinthos, but eventually lost him to his true love, Connie. After High School, Connie changed her identity and moved to Manhattan to make a new start. Olivia and the rest of the Falconeri family were hurt and angry.

Sonny continues to discuss his actions regarding Carly’s situation with Olivia and asks if she thinks his kids would be better off without him. The lights go out before she can answer and Sonny gets some candles. Jax walks in looking for Michael and Sonny says, “So now you lost my son?”
Jax and Olivia argue about Sonny while waiting for Carly at the hospital. Jax sees his wife and daughter come in and holds his baby.
Johnny and Dante see Olivia at the hospital and learn about Carly. Johnny asks about Claudia, but Olivia doesn’t know. Dante leaves to tell Lulu about her cousin and Olivia looks concerned for him.
Dante and Olivia talk about Claudia and Dante assumes Jason stayed behind to kill her.
Michael and Morgan don’t move when Sonny tells them to come home with him. They say Carly expects them to be there when she gets back and Jax and Sonny bicker. Sonny makes it clear that Jax will not use this tragedy to stake a claim to his kids. The kids are sent upstairs as the men argue and Olivia tries to mediate. Olivia gets Sonny to reluctantly leave.
After Sonny leaves, Olivia and Jax debate Sonny’s behavior. Jax blames Sonny for sending Claudia on a rampage, while Olivia defends Sonny’s right for respect from his kids.
Olivia goes to Sonny’s house to keep him company and he asks if she thinks it’s his fault Carly was taken hostage. She tells him it’s on no one but Claudia. Sonny berates himself for how he dealt with his wife and then talks about his complicated history with Carly. He says he trusts Carly completely the same way he trusts her. Olivia tells him Carly will always love him, even though he is frustrating. At the end of the day she sees past his self-destruction and she agrees with Carly because he is a good man deep down. Sonny thinks the women are a lot alike and they reference their past. Sonny notes they can’t go back, but he wishes they had something they could hold on to.
