Patrick runs into Matt at Mercy and ends up telling him how Robin's been acting around Emma. When Matt insinuates that she could have PPD, Patrick says that Robin won't even discuss it. Matt suggests a shrink and gives a name of one who deals in PPD and even works with the fathers independently if need be.
Down the hall, Matt signs himself out as a patient and Nadine tells him that they need him to do rounds anyway. He tells her that she was in the fire too and should probably take it easy. She starts to cry and he offers her a tissue.
Lulu is waiting tables over at Kelly's and is quite disgusted with lovebirds BJ and Matt Hunter. They are sharing breakfast and discussing their upcoming wedding. Lulu wastes no time telling them that she doesn't believe in love.
Nadine is in an ambulance tending to Matt. He won't go to Mercy until he sees that Patrick made it out. Finally, Patrick shows up and sits with him for a while. They all look at the hospital and wonder if it will ever be rebuilt. Patrick says this is where their father practiced, where he fell in love with Robin and where so many lives were saved. Then he agrees to ride to Mercy with Matt, but Rayner shows up and wants to debrief him. As Nadine and Matt wait, Nikolas brings Rebecca and asks if they have room for two more.
Matt is trying to help the patients but Patrick reminds him that he's a patient, too. He says that he just found out he had a brother and he'd rather not lose him. Matt tells him that he's doing a good job, but Patrick says that he finally knows what a family man feels like because all he can think about is Robin and Emma.
Patrick is with Matt in ICU. He tells him about the poison spheres and how the entire OR team went down after the first surgical incision. Through his oxygen mask, Matt says this whole thing is his fault. Patrick says that he couldn't have known that the patient was hiding poison. He adds that he's the one who saw the X-rays but didn't run fast enough, so it's really on him.
Meanwhile, Robin is at home trying to ignore the crying coming through the baby monitor. When the sitter calls to say she can't come, she calls Patrick. He offers to come home and Robin says that she doesn't need a sitter! After they hang up, a car crash victim is brought into the ER and needs surgery. Matt tells Patrick that he'll do the surgery so that he can get home to Robin.
Matt grabs the elevator at the ward and runs into Rebecca. She asks about the coffee shop that burned down. Matt offers to be a reference again but she turns him down. Matt leaves the elevator. At the admit desk, Nikolas tries to stop the elevator but the doors close before he reaches them. Carly stops by the hospital to tell Patrick that Robin is coming to the benefit; he is surprised. She tells him that Robin needs help. "I know the signs," she says, worried, and tells him about Emma screaming and Robin not picking her up. Patrick tries to defend Robin but Carly says her symptoms of post-partum depression were just like the signs Robin is displaying now. Patrick keeps defending her. "Patrick if I hadn't shown up your daughter could still be crying," she says.
Rebecca returns to the ward and sees Matt. She asks about the cafeteria coffee as they talk about the forms she has to fill out to get the job. Matt offers to take her to Kelly's but she declines, saying she'll go alone. Jason arrives and asks for Patrick, who is finishing up a few things with Layla. He tells Patrick that the benefit is a bad idea. Patrick insists that he isn't giving Carly false hope; Jason knows that but says anything can be false hope. Patrick says the benefit and foundation is a good idea for other victims. Patrick asks how Robin was when he saw her; Jason says she was tense and leaves. Epiphany comments on how happy Layla seems. Patrick asks Elizabeth if she should be worried about Robin. Before she can answer Nikolas arrives – and Rebecca watches them all from the elevator. They talk about Robin and Nikolas says she seemed well when he was there and is probably just a little overwhelmed.
Patrick returns to the ward. Liz tells him to let Matt take care of things at the hospital but he won't hear of it. She tells him how much Robin is struggling and apologizes for being hard on her. Patrick tells Elizabeth that things are getting back to normal at home but Liz is still worried. Lucky arrives and asks Elizabeth to come with him and the boys to a "Disney on Ice" special; she is thrilled and tries to find someone to cover for her. Patrick listens to them and smiles; he calls Robin at home. Liz realizes she can't take off because of a storm that is coming in. Matt arrives and warns Patrick that working closely with Sonny and Carly for the new head trauma unit will be time consuming. Patrick and Liz go to check on a patient. Just then, the strange woman walks off the elevator. Matt offers to help her. She introduces herself as Rebecca Shaw and asks where the administration area is and he offers to give her a reference! "Are you flirting with me?" she asks. He tells her where the office is and she walks away. Patrick and Liz return but Matt is still distracted with thoughts of Rebecca.
