Nikolas Makes a Decision.

Lucky looks on as Dr. Devlin escorts Sam back down the hall to her room. Then he joins Alexis and Spencer and waits for news about Nikolas. Patrick and Robin rush out of the OR and he informs Lucky that his brother kicked Robin in the stomach and could've hurt HIS baby. Alexis rushes off to deal with her nephew and Robin is dumbfounded at Patrick's outburst.

Dr. Devlin is paged to meet Nikolas in the hospital basement. When he arrives, Nik tells him that he's ready to accept his medication. Dr. Devlin asks why he bothered to "come back" to the land of the living and Nik says that he's not ready to say goodbye to his son either. He asks for the medication and Dr. Devlin produces some pills and says that they will prolong his condition, but not improve it. Then he asks Nik what's in it for him?

Sonny's Gonna Blow.

Lucky pays Sam a visit in her hospital room and apologizes for not believing her when she called him for help. She tells him to stop beating himself up over that because ultimately he saved her life. She asks him for a glass of water and then says that she'd love to know who hit her and ran off. Lucky quietly tells her that there's no news yet. He offers to help her get home and Dr. Devlin comes in like a primate and tells Lucky that Sam isn't going anywhere yet. Lucky leaves and when Sam protests the way he treated Lucky, Dr. Devlin tells her to admit that part of her enjoyed it. She smiles.

Word is getting out that Nikolas is having his surgery. Alexis and Spencer color together in the lounge and Sam finds them there. Liz shows up and hears about it, followed by Lucky and Lulu. Later, Dr. Devlin escorts Sam as she goes for a walk in the halls. While Lucky looks on, he tells her he's going to make her his special case.

Nik Goes For It.

As Dr. Devlin is about to escort Sam back into the hospital, she introduces him to Lucky. Dr. Devlin subtly puts the detective in his place and says that he'll take care of Ms. McCall and urges Lucky to go pursue the animal that ran her down.

Jerry calls his mysterious cohort and says that he feels as if he's selling his brother's soul to the devil. The man is looking at himself in the mirror and we can finally see his face - it's Dr. Devlin!

Dr. Devlin and Patrick both consult on Nikolas's case as Nadine and Alexis wait nervously. Patrick rushes off to get the OR prepped and Ian asks Nikolas why he didn't start the meds yet? Down the hall, Robin tells Patrick that she wants to assist in the surgery and Patrick says they will be using a cat scan that could be dangerous for the baby. She says that she'll wear a protective shield and thanks him for his concern. Soon, as the anesthesiologist starts to put Nik under. Nik tells Nadine that he wants to say good bye to Emily first. Nadine whispers that Emily won't leave without saying good bye. He looks up to the observation room and there she is. She walks over and gives him a kiss.

Daddy of the Year?

Sam is hobbling out of the hospital for a little exercise but doubles over in pain. Lucky is nearby and is able to catch her before she hits the ground. She thanks him for saving her life even though it was his job. "It had nothing to do with the job," Lucky tells her. She tells him it was only his reflex because he's a generous man, that's all. Lucky says that he shouldn't have thrown her out, but Sam says she deserved it. She says that she put innocent children's lives at risk because she was lashing out at Jason and Liz. Lucky says that he believes her now when she says that loving him changed her. She asks if he can trust every word out of her mouth and when he hesitates, she says that is his answer. Dr. Devlin comes out and tells her she shouldn't be on her hip for so long. He offers to escort her back to her room.

The Buddy System at Work.

Down the hall, Dr. Devlin examines Sam and flirts with her at the same time. She marvels at how a doctor can be both a plastic surgeon and an oncologist. She asks about the connection and he says she doesn't need to know. Then she asks if he's two different men, too? He dodges the question and tells her that she needs to be admitted overnight for observation.

Randy has left Martha's Vineyard and is in a Port Charles phone booth looking for Ric Lansing's street address. As he leaves the area, two hookers look his way and ask if he wants to party. The man who replies isn't Randy however, it's Dr. Ian Devlin. He looks at them and picks the brunette.
