Diane Gives Spinelli a Pep Talk.

Devlin returns to GH and asks Nadine if Nik called for him. She tells him no and she's glad. He asks if she has a problem with him and she lists many, especially the way he's taking advantage of Nik's love for Emily by selling drugs. He grabs her arm and threatens her to keep quiet. Not long after, Nik shows up at the nurses' desk. Nadine is putting together a bag of puppets to entertain her patients and he tells her that he's done with Devlin. She looks enormously relieved as he tells her that he is going to schedule his surgery because he's ready to move on with his life.

Faulty Brakes.

Sam runs into Dr. Devlin at the nurses' desk and he asks her to see him tonight. First however, he wants to know why she's suddenly interested? She is able to convince him that her motives are true and they make plans to go back to his place later.

Sam and Devlin go back to his dump and she asks why he lives in such a cave. He pours her a drink and says that the staff at larger hotels is too intrusive. She asks what he's so afraid they will intrude on? He quietly tells her that this sounds more like an interrogation than foreplay. She comments that an interrogation could be fun and proceeds to role play a cop for him, all the while trying to find out more about his background. Devlin is turned on for a moment, but then tells her that he knows she used to be with Jason Morgan and pushes her out the door.

Emily finds Nikolas out with the horses and comments on the wild ride he just took with Nadine. He jokes that being reckless is one benefit of knowing that you're dying. She starts to argue with him about having the surgery but he kisses her. Then she starts to tell him how much Spencer needs him but has to stop because Devlin shows up with news of a new drug that will keep him alive AND seeing Emily indefinitely. Emily takes it all in as Devlin asks for another ten million dollars. Nik sighs and then tells him no.

A Revolving Door at Dr. Devlin's.

Over at the bad doctor's fleabag apartment, Maxie has pulled away from his kiss and tells him that he has the wrong idea. She tells him that as Kate Howard's new assistant she's following up on a news story about "doctor hotties." Ian doesn't believe a word of it. He puts her in a chair and pours her a drink. She tells him that she's old enough, but doesn't want to drink with him. She reminds him that her father is the Police Commissioner and offers not to mention his tendency to call escort services. Thankfully, there's a knock at the door and it's Jason. Devlin releases Maxie to him but warns them to lay off.

Sam shows up at Dr. Devlin's door to thank him for doing such a good job on her hip surgery. She asks if there is any way to show her gratitude and he offers her a drink. She takes it and says that she's noticed that he acts interested in her. He doesn't deny it and she asks if he needs someone to talk to. He tells her that his world is complicated. Then he takes a phone call from Claudia who says that she's coming over to talk. He hangs up and tells Sam that he has a previous commitment to attend to.

When Johnny and Claudia show up at Devlin's a little while later, they offer to transfer a million dollars into his account if he leaves town. Devlin says he's not going anywhere and that if Jason Morgan comes to kill him, he'll name names before he goes down.

Plans are Set in Motion.

In the doctors' locker room Jerry is taunting Ian with his gun. He asks if he'd rather be shot in the torso or the head and when Ian doesn't respond, Jerry pulls the trigger but the chamber is empty. Ian tells him that he'll be caught if he shoots a gun in the hospital. Jerry finally does what he came to do, he warns Ian that he will put a bullet into his head if Sonny Corinthos hears his name associated with his son's shooting.

Maxie has agreed to go with Spinelli on his errand in exchange for his help on Crimson's computer system. They break into Dr. Devlin's (filthy) apartment to snoop around a little, but soon hear him approaching his front door. Spinelli is able to duck into a closet, but Maxie has nowhere to hide. Ian comes in the door and she quickly tells him that she thinks he's hot. He says that he normally goes for brunettes, but she'll save him a call to the escort service. As he kisses her, Spinelli is mortified in his closet hideaway.

A Few Surprises Today.

Out at the nurses' desk, Nadine tells Leyla that she had fun last night. It wasn't just winning money, she says that it seems that something changed for Nikolas last night. Then she sees something that catches her eye. Down the hall, Nikolas is talking to Dr. Devlin. He's angry that he paid $10 million yet Dr. Devlin hasn't provided more pills yet. Dr. Devlin says that all the money in the world doesn't erase the fact that he will die without surgery. Nik inquires about other experimental medications and offers to pay even more money for them. Never one to turn down a buck, Ian says that he'll see what he can do and walks away. Then Nik walks up to the nurses' desk and thanks Nadine for her part in the most fun he's had since Emily died.
