Johnny barges into the family room at the mansion and finds Claudia on the phone ordering a dress. He's fuming over the treatment that Lucky gave him and says that at least Nikolas respects Lulu's feelings. Claudia tries to calm him down by saying how mad he would be at himself if he caused Lulu to lose it completely.
Anthony returns home and asks Claudia why she is making Ric take her to the wedding. Claudia says that she wants to see and be seen, that's all. Anthony thinks it's actually a good idea because he thinks it's time to form an alliance with Sonny in order "…to keep the power in the family."
Out at the Zacchara mansion, Johnny gets a call from Lulu. She asks him to come out to Shadybrook because there's something she needs to talk to him about. He tries to get her to talk to her doctor instead, but Lulu insists. He agrees, and then has to face Claudia after he hangs up. She reminds him that she risked her life for him and he owes her an explanation about what he plans to do with fragile Lulu.
Johnny walks out of the room and practically bumps into Ric on his way. Ric asks Claudia why a newly freed man like her brother isn't very cheerful? Claudia says that he's not exactly free yet, but they are going to fix that. She tells him to let Lucky Spencer know that Johnny's on his way to visit Lulu. Ric doesn't want to get involved, but Claudia flirts until he agrees.
Ric returns to the Zacchara mansion and proudly reports to Claudia that his mission was accomplished. Then he reminds her of a promise that she made a while back. Claudia offers herself to Ric alright, but as a date to Sonny's wedding.
Out at the Zacchara mansion, Claudia breezes past Anthony's breakfast table and pours herself some coffee. He tells her that since she saved her brother, he has big plans for her. When Ric and Trevor show up, Anthony compliments Ric and slams Trevor at the same time. Trevor says that Richie's so-called success practically fell in his lap when Claudia decided to perjuring herself. Anthony isn't listening. Instead he announces that Ric deserves a bigger role around here, and Claudia can come back to the family business - on a limited basis. As Claudia beams, Trevor shakes his head and leaves the room.
The verdict is in and everyone gathers in the court room. Epiphany stands and states that the jury has found Johnny Zacchara not guilty. As Johnny and Claudia hug in relief, and Scott raises demands there's been a mistake, Epiphany and Edward shake hands as if to say, "We've done the right thing."
When Johnny walks out of the court room a free man, Anthony asks him how he feels. Johnny thanks him for standing by him the whole time and promises not to forget it. Meanwhile, Claudia saunters up to Ric and says that they are a good team. Ric shakes her hand and reminds her that he told her so.
At the police station, Johnny thanks his sister for what she said on the stand. Talk turns to when they were kids and how they trashed Trevor’s car. They laugh and joke, but then Ric comes in and puts a damper on their positive mood. He says Claudia was very convincing and asks how much of the story was true, pointing out the best lies usually have some truth to them.
Alone in the interrogation room, Claudia comes on to Ric. Johnny returns and interrupts them. Ric hands Johnny the phone, which has Lulu on the other end. She apologizes for making a mess of things, but Johnny says all that matters is that she’s okay.
