Johnny is relieved when Claudia shows up on the waterfront to meet him. He tells her that he nearly killed Sonny Corinthos for taking her, and she says that it was someone else who tried to have her killed! She tells him that Anthony had her brakes tampered with and then hired a shooter to take her out if the car accident didn't! Then she says that they have to get over to their father's hearing right away.
Back at the courthouse, the hearing is about to get underway. Spinelli shows up and tells Diane that he is the "eyes and ears" of Sonny and Stone Cold. Anthony is wheeled in and sizes up his offspring who have seated themselves on the D.A.'s side. When the judge appears, Alexis announces that Diane Miller will be 2nd chair. After Trevor and Ric have had their say, Spinelli jumps up and objects prematurely. He proceeds to list all of AZ's crimes as only he can do and is thus escorted out of the courtroom. Alexis makes her case of how dangerous AZ is and then Ric speaks about his client's illness at the time of his crimes. (An illness that he has now recovered from by the way!) Alexis calls Claudia to the stand, who tells the court that her father sent her out of the country years ago. Alexis tries to establish Claudia's opinion as to whether her father is sane or not and then asks if AZ has ever threatened her life. Claudia glares at her father and doesn't speak.
Shortest Casino Opening in History?
Out in the abandoned cabin Jason is grappling with Claudia's attacker and asking him questions at the same time. The Q&A session comes to an abrupt end when Claudia is able to grab the goon's gun and kill him. Jason angrily tells her that he wanted the guy alive so he could get information from him. She says that the guy was going to rape her and didn't deserve to live! Jason asks what she plans on doing with the body? Claudia says that she obviously needs his help and besides his fingerprints are all over this place, too. She promises to repay him someday and Jason gets to work.
Out near the overlook, Claudia and Jason have finished up with the body and are back at his motorcycle. As he checks to see if the bike was rigged with a bomb, Claudia starts to walk. He tells her that if he dies, Sonny will think she did it and kill her too. (He's reluctantly offering her a ride.) She weighs her options and then decides to get on the bike with him and ride back to town. As he fires up the engine, she nervously grits her teeth.
The Morgue Gets a New Body.
The shooting outside of the abandoned cabin has stopped. Inside, Claudia insists that her father ordered the hit on Sonny that ended up shooting Michael. She says that she's going to find a way to do away with her father and urges Jason to "whack" Sonny and take over too. She taunts him for feeling guilty for not being able to protect Michael and Jason decides to leave her on her own. She's furious at him as he slips out the door.
Anthony's hired thug storms into the cabin and tells Claudia that she's going to die, but they are going to have some fun first. As he grabs her, Claudia nails him in the crotch and Jason storms inside and orders the guy to drop his gun.
Bon Voyage Dr. Devlin?
In an abandoned cabin somewhere, Jason has barricaded the door but his five remaining bullets won't be enough if the shooter brings some extra help. It's gotten quiet outside but Jason warns Claudia against feeling safe because the shooter is likely just waiting for them to let their guard down. So, instead of sleeping, Claudia decides to discuss her past. She explains her family dynamic where Trevor, Maria, Johnny and Anthony are concerned and says that her own mother was banished to Italy with a broken heart. Jason looks like he'd rather chew his arm off than listen to any more.
He reminds Claudia that he's here instead of at the hospital with Carly because she was going to tell him about Michael's shooter! She fumbles for an answer and says that she's pretty sure that it was her father. Jason is infuriated with her for luring him away for no real reason. "I'm going to find whoever did this and make them sorry they ever heard Michael's name," he spews. As Claudia tries to calm him down, the shooting from outside starts again.
Diane Gives Spinelli a Pep Talk.
From a hole in the ground with bullets flying past their heads, Jason asks Claudia who might be trying to kill her. "My father," is her reply. Jason yells at her for calling him out to be shot at! Claudia tells him that it was a coincidence, that's all. They bicker with each other over how to get out of there and Jason finally tells her to make a run for it. She's not going anywhere, instead she nervously talks Jason's ear off as he returns fire.
Jason and Claudia are running out of options as the shooter clearly isn't giving up. Finally Jason convinces her to run and draw fire so that he can see where the shooter is. They manage to make it to an abandoned cabin, but with no phone and limited bullets, Claudia is freaking out. He tells her to look around and see what she can find, but she'd rather complain about the situation they're in. She asks why he even risked his life to save hers anyway?
