Lucky goes to the hospital and asks Liz if he can take Cameron and Jake fishing for a few days. Liz asks about Sam and he says she's not in the picture anymore. He admits that he feels a little guilty about Sam, and Liz says that he wasn't behind the wheel. Before they can say more, Detective Harper shows up and says there's a new development in the TMK case and it looks like Logan is NOT the guy.
Sonny stands over Kate's crumpled body and calls an ambulance to the waterfront. While he waits, he tells her that he loves her…who she was and who she is today and begs her not to leave him again. Jason shows up and asks what happened and Sonny says the Zaccharas did this. Jason asks how he knows for sure and Sonny says that Claudia warned him that he wouldn't see it coming. As the sirens approach, Sonny tells Jason to go and make whoever did this pay. (We see that Michael is hiding in a dumpster nearby.) Detective Harper asks Sonny how he happened to be there as Kate was shot. Sonny is belligerent and only concerned about Kate's condition.
Mac has arrived at Kelly's. He sits with Maxie as she tells him about her plans to go to Canada with Coop. Mac asks everyone if they saw Coop after Maxie left him this morning. Logan says that he did. He explains that he wanted to borrow some money earlier and then he offered Coop some coffee, but Coop didn't want it. Mac asks Maxie if Coop expressed any feelings of remorse and Maxie asserts that he didn't kill himself! Detective Harper comes downstairs and produces the stolen DNA report from Coop's room. Mac looks at it and surmises that Coop was the Text Message Killer. "That's a lie!" Maxie yells. Mac says that Coop felt he had nowhere to go. As they bring out his body, she wants to ride in the ambulance with him, but Mac won't let her.
Mac is fired up at the PCPD because the DNA results from Georgie's fingernails are due any minute. He tells Detective Harper to be ready to bring Johnny Z in. Then he asks Coop what he's doing hanging around. Coop explains that he's covering Lucky's shifts for a few days. Felicia comes in and wants to discuss Georgie's case, so Max directs her to the interrogation room. He tells Coop to see to it that he gets the results the moment they come in. Then he takes Felicia inside and vehemently tells her that there was a time when he would've welcomed her help, but he has to be the one to bring down Georgie's killer.
Outside the door a detective puts the results smack in Coop's hands.
Mac is furious when he finds Lucky and Detective Harper messing around at their desks. He asks if Georgie's killer has been found and the guys scurry in different directions. Then Felicia comes in and says that she'd like to help find Georgie's killer. Lucky brings footprint photos from Georgie's murder scene. Felicia pipes up with technical information about foot print integrity and Mac asks if she is too close to the case to help. Felicia says that her obligations to Frisco can wait and meanwhile she needs to live with the fact that it took the death of her daughter to bring her home.
As Felicia is looking at the autopsy photos of her youngest daughter, Detective Harper rushes in and says that they've found some proof against Johnny Zacchara. Mac gives him the order to go bring him in!
Trevor gets a call from "Murrough". Using an accent, Jerry says that the young Zacchara is going to prevent them from doing business so he might go to Cornithos instead. Johnny comes in from nowhere and grabs the phone from Trevor. He threatens Murrough but can't finish because the PCPD has arrived to take him in for the murder of the Police Commissioner's daughter.
Meanwhile at the condo, Spinelli is stunned when Lucky tells him that he is a suspect in Georgie's death. The cops show him a couple of computer records that detail Georgie's love for Spinelli. They are about to arrest Spinelli when Jason walks in and tells them to back off. Jason reminds Lucky that Spinelli has an alibi for the night is question. Lucky tells Jason that he isn't the best alibi source but the cops leave. Spinelli keeps Georgie's computer notes to him. Jason asks about the papers and Spinelli tells him about Georgie's love for him. They sit down to talk about the case but it is hard for both of them to concentrate. Jason brings up Coop but Spinelli still hasn't found out anything more about him. Jason continues to suspect him. A while later Jason leaves. When he is alone Spinelli begins writing a letter to Georgie. "There is so much to say but no one who can hear me," he says.
At the crime scene where Georgie died, Lucky is interrogating Spinelli and accuses him of killing Maxi. Spinelli says that he just lost someone dear to him and he doesn't feel like answering questions. Finally Detective Harper lets Spinelli go. Sam shows up and asks what is going on. After Lucky tells her about Georgie, her first question is to ask how Maxie is. Lucky says that he told her and Sam says that this has got to stop! She says that maybe "Everyday Heroes" can do something. Mac returns in time to see Georgie being "zipped up." Then, he tells Lucky that Felicia asked him to take care of their girls and he failed her. Mac leaves to go back with Maxie, and Detective Harper and Lucky agree to start their investigation with Johnny Zacchara.
When Detective Harper arrives, he urges Spinelli to step away from the crime scene, but he wants to stay with Georgie. Then, the Detective sees that Mac has arrived and he tries to block him from stepping any closer to the body. It doesn't take Mac long to realize that the dead girl is Georgie. He rushes over to her and breaks down. Lucky shows up and Mac says, "They got her Lucky, they got Georgie." He says that he has to tell Maxi and Robin. Lucky offers to go bring Maxi to him.
