Also in a perilous situation on the waterfront is Spinelli. Although he's the one in control at the moment, the Russians chuckle and call him a 'mouse' as he squeaks words about a payback for Maxie. Realizing that he can't actually shoot another human being, Spinelli scurries behind some crates where he finds Johnny! Johnny grabs the gun from him and quickly takes control of the situation. After he makes the Russians drop their weapons and leave, Johnny tells Spinelli that he should be glad that he's not a killer.
Maxie has asked Lulu to take her out of the hospital and over to Jason's penthouse to wait for Spinelli. She's worried that he's out trying to avenge her and will get hurt. When Spinelli and Johnny come through the door, Maxie rushes into Spinelli's arms. He admits to trying to teach the Russians a lesson for hurting her, but says that he failed and Johnny had to rescue him. Upon hearing that, Maxie rushes into Johnny's arms to thank him. Then they all turn and yell at Spinelli for taking such a risk.
Sam...Spinelli...Look out!
Johnny has found Luke on The Haunted Star. They verbally spar and Luke entices Johnny into one round of cutting cards. When Johnny's King beats Luke's Queen, Johnny surmises that he just earned the right to keep his shares in The Haunted Star. Luke smiles and admits that he needs a cash infusion right now because he has a problem with having his wife front him all the money. Johnny reminds him that his family framed him for money laundering, but Luke says that he was able to show only the clean money so all he has to do is get rid of his family at this point. Johnny says that he'll need a 5% increase in his take but will come up with all the money he needs. They make a toast on it.
Lulu finds them together and tells Luke that he can't break her and Johnny up! Johnny kisses her on the head on his way out and says that her name never came up. Lulu laughs and sits with her dad. They talk about her time at Shadybrook and how having Laura wake up to defend her was worth everything. "What is it like for you to have her back?" she asks.
The Last Time He Did This He Shot His Foot.
Johnny and Lulu have gone back to his penthouse. After they make love, Johnny apologizes for walking out on her when she needed him the most. Lulu reminds him that he took the blame for killing Logan, so they're even. She tells him that they need to listen to their love from now on instead of their families. They wrap themselves in a sheet and step out on the balcony to enjoy the view. He reminds her that the money used to buy his penthouse is dirty and worries that they won't be able to make it together given the kind of life that he has.
Not Again!
Claudia comes upon Johnny and Lulu in front of Kelly's. She tells them to kiss goodbye because the family comes first. She says that she's going to marry Sonny Corinthos because their lives belong to their father. Johnny and Lulu turn and leave. Later, after they have just finished dinner at The Metro Court Lulu thanks Johnny and then turns down his offer to help pay to rebuild Kelly's. She says that her family probably has insurance and besides, she doesn't want anything to do with his father's money. Johnny asks who she thinks paid for the dinner they just had? Lulu suggests that maybe it's time that he makes some changes and he can't disagree.
A Great Place to Raise Your Kids?
Lulu meets Johnny outside of the crime scene that used to be Kelly's. She says that she's just trying to process everything that's gone on in the past 24 hours. She hates to do it, but asks Johnny if his father had anything to do with Mike's beating and the fire? Johnny says that it's definitely within Anthony's range, but he's recovering from surgery at the moment. Lulu can't figure out who would deliberately destroy Kelly's.
The freighter explosion, truck yard fire, Kelly's fire and Sonny's father's beating have put a big smile on Anthony's face. "Who says Port Charles isn't a great place to raise your kids?" Anthony tells Johnny as he reads the newspaper. Johnny asks if he had anything to do with it, but Anthony says it's all due to a Russian organization. He says that all of this will work to their advantage though because Sonny needs protection more than ever. It's time to welcome your new brother-in-law into the family, he tells Johnny.
Johnny rushes back to Kelly's to report back to Lulu. He tells her that his father had nothing to do with the fire, but that won't do her family's business any good. Lulu is relieved, but listens as he tells her about Anthony's plan to enjoy watching Port Charles fall apart if only to increase his power base. Lulu tells him that he doesn't have to be party to it and that they can do better for their lives. Johnny can't believe that she would still want to be with him, but she says that she loves him.
Laura Comes Home.
A little later, Johnny arrives and Lulu is thrilled to see him. She introduces him to Laura and he apologizes for all he's put her daughter through. Laura says that Lulu explained all that he did for her and says how glad she is that Lulu has fallen in love with such a fine young man.
