She shows up at the tree lot and asks Johnny if he sells olive branches, too? She's come to apologize for arguing with him and to give him her support in leaving the family. She admits that used to be her dream, too, but dreams can change. Then she pulls out a wad of cash and tries to give it to him. He pushes it away and she tells him that it's not Anthony's money and that she has money from her mother. Johnny doesn't want to get sucked back in, but thanks her anyway.
Maxie comes home and finds Johnny sitting on the sofa. She tells him to hurry up and get a job because he shouldn't stay long after what happened last night. Lulu has come in the door and has a million questions about what happened? Johnny says that he and Maxie surprised each other in the dark last night, that's all, and then leaves to look for a job. Once he's gone, Maxie says that all she did was give Johnny an appreciative glance because he's hot.
Claudia drags Milo to a tree lot and finds out that Johnny is working there! She tells him that she married Sonny to secure his inheritance. He says that he wants no part of her twisted marriage to a man who will kill her when he finds out about Michael. Claudia assures him that she's playing Sonny and it's working! He says that he loves her, but whatever she does is not for him from this point on.
Out in the family room, Johnny gives Lulu money to buy a new couch. He tells her that the money came from the deposit on Jax's penthouse and Lulu laughs. She tells him in the real world when people get money, they save it for food. Willing to laugh at his own inexperience on being on his own, Johnny smiles too.
Maxie embarrasses herself by barging into Lulu's room and finds that no one was having sex, Lulu and Johnny were simply moving furniture around. Maxie decides that it's time to lay out the ground rules regarding sharing the apartment. They talk about shelves in the fridge, not sharing clothes and that Johnny needs to fork over a third of the rent. Lulu protests, but Maxie insists. Johnny offers to take them out for Chinese food, but Maxie says she wants rent money instead. When they return, there's giggling and moaning coming from Maxie's room. Lulu is furious that Maxie would use Spinelli to prove a point, but then Spinelli walks in the front door.
Lulu suggests that Johnny move in with she, Spinelli and Maxie but Spinelli isn't sure that is a good idea. He says Maxie needs more privacy; she says she is fine with Johnny moving in. Spinelli points out that Johnny has the Zacchara fortune but Johnny says he left that behind. Lulu leads Johnny to her bedroom and Maxie asks Spinelli to help her measure the mantle. She says Johnny is spoken for and doesn't matter. They finish measuring and Spinelli points out that even though her bedroom is smaller than Lulu's, she has the better view. He mentions Mac and Maxie says it was time to move out. They hear Lulu and Johnny making love and both become uncomfortable. Spinelli suggests they go for coffee but Maxie wants to finish decorating. Spinelli can't take it and leaves.
Lulu shows Johnny into her room and says it will look better when she's fixed it up. Johnny likes the space. She says again how proud she is that he walked away from the family; he says he has to figure out his life now. Maxie finally can't take the noise and bursts into Lulu's room – to find them moving furniture!
Johnny shows up and they decide to cut cards over who gets the big room. The jackal selects a jack, but Johnny picks an ace. Lulu explains that 'their' new room will be big enough and explains to Spinelli that Johnny has nowhere else to live for the moment. Spinelli doesn't like the sound of the arrangement at all.
Lulu and Johnny have spent a fun night together over at the penthouse that Johnny used to share with Claudia. Jax keys in without knocking and announces that he wants his penthouse back. He tells Johnny that he'll refund his deposit, but he'd like him to vacate soon. When Lulu protests, he explains that this place represents a life he had before Carly and it's where he needs to be now. Johnny agrees to leave, but Lulu reminds him that he has nowhere to go.
Lulu runs into Johnny at the Metro Court on her way to Kate's cocktail party. He thinks she looks beautiful but wants her to ditch the party and come with him to the abandoned garage they once hid out in. She says that she can't miss her work party since she doesn't have a rich boyfriend anymore!
