The scene at Shady Brook is heartbreaking. The more Lulu screams for Johnny, the more he struggles against the cops. Ultimately, Johnny is clubbed in the knees and Lulu is put into a straight jacket and given a sedative. In the midst of all this, Nik and Claudia rush in and try to help, but can barely be heard amidst the chaos.
Johnny Drives to Shady Brook.
Lulu is finally able to convince Johnny she'll jump out of the car if he tries to get her to Shady Brook. He pulls over and she insists that she won't be the reason he goes to prison. She begs him to take her to Vancouver and he reminds her that Luke was helpless with Laura after a certain point because he didn't act soon enough. She offers to let him drop her off but he says she'll just confess to get him in the clear. She says that she'll go on one condition. She says that she won't be able to concentrate on getting better unless she knows he's safe so she asks him to go on to Toronto after he makes sure that she is checked into Shady Brook. He agrees. When they get to Shady Brook a Dr. Foster is waiting for them.
Back at Shady Brook, Lulu panics and tells the doctor that she feels better now and they can leave. Johnny pulls her into a private room to talk. Lulu is afraid that she'll be staring at the wall within a week and he won't even be able to hear her screams. He promises to go hide in Toronto and they'll get Spinelli to help them communicate. Ultimately he gets through to her and she agrees. They give each other a long kiss and walk into the hallway together. That's when Scott Baldwin and the cops nab Johnny and pull him out of Lulu's arms.
Sonny Steps to the Forefront.
While Lulu is screaming, Lourdes assures Johnny that she didn't do anything! Johnny asks her to leave and then gives Lulu a glass of brandy to calm her down. She wonders if none of this is happening and she's already at Shady Brook. Johnny kisses her and asks if that felt real to her. She tells him that he needs to leave while he still can and then promises to call an ambulance for herself. Sal comes to the door and Johnny tells her to stay cool.
Johnny opens the door and Sal explains that the cops arrested someone else so he came home. He admits that Lourdes told him about Linda's breakdown and suggests that Joe get her the help that she needs. Johnny closes the door behind him and then rushes to pack a bag. He begs Lulu to trust him and promises that they will face their future together.
Johnny is driving and has told Lulu they're going to cross the Canadian border. He assures her that their cash will pave the way for their lack of passports. Before long she recognizes the road and points out that it leads to Shady Brook. She begs him to turn around and threatens to jump out of the car if he doesn't!
Lourdes and Logan. Separated at Birth?
In Manhattan, Lulu is staring out the window when Johnny returns to their apartment from the deli. She says that her brothers are probably frantic with worry by now and that Logan's final words are coming true, she is never going to get over him. Johnny tells her that she needs help and he'll turn himself in if that's what it will take. Lulu panics and promises that she'll be fine as long as they are together. Just then Lourdes comes over and asks Johnny to fix the fuse that she blew in her apartment. Johnny tells her to stay with Lulu and he'll be right back.
Lulu and Lourdes sit on the couch together, but all Lulu can see is dead Logan. She freaks out and screams "You're dead!" as Johnny comes rushing back home.
Wash That Dead Man Right Outta Her Hair.
Lulu is shrieking in horror as Logan approaches her with her birthday cake. After she finally realizes that it's Johnny, she hyperventilates as she tries to explain that she is truly losing her mind. Johnny says that he'll be with her and nothing will happen to her, but Lulu reminds him that Luke was with Laura when she ultimately lost her mind.
Back in New York, the second that Lulu goes for a bath, Johnny calls Claudia. He hurriedly asks her to check with Nikolas about Laura's illness and find out if she ever suffered hallucinations. Then he joins Lulu in the bathroom and softly talks to her. She tells him that she'll eventually slip into her mind and won't be able to get out. Johnny tells her that she suffered trauma and is in shock. Lulu asks him to tell her that he loves her and he gladly obliges.
