Diane comes to the hospital and sees Max. They awkwardly discuss how he is doing and then he tries to pretend he is meeting someone. Diane sees through it and asks him to catch up. Max tries to make excuses and starts to walk away, but Diane stops him saying she doesn't think of him as a love puppet. They sit down to talk about the events from the carnival and their fight. They end up arguing about Louise and Diane tells Max she has a man in Philadelphia. Their fight escalates and Diane storms off.
In bed, Diane revels over a win in court and Max says she never asks about him. Diane brushes it off and then realizes she’s supposed to be at the kickoff party. She tells Max to stay there and they will continue when she gets back. Max accuses her of not thinking he’s good enough to go with her. They get dressed as Max says he feels like her boy toy and sexual object. Diane gets defensive and Max storms out to go to the carnival by himself.
Diane rushes into Alexis's office with news of her lightweight community service sentence for Claudia's accident. Alexis knows of no such deal, but Diane rants about the ramifications of doing a back-door deal without her attorney's knowledge. Nik shows up and admits that it was all his doing. Diane is more concerned with the murder charges Alexis faces but Nik promises to find a solution to that problem too. Diane explains that the case is only circumstantial at this point, but proceeds to lay it out for him. Nik takes it all on and asks Diane to call him if his aunt needs bail. Alexis asks if he's even curious if she's guilty, and he says that she's family and that's all he needs to know. After he leaves, she calls him a true Cassadine.
Dante is over at Sonny's house taking advantage of the fact that no one seems to be home. He rifles through Sonny's desk and tries to slip away with a file. Max has come in with Diane and quickly traded her for his gun. 'Dominic' quickly explains that he's interrupting and that Mr. Corinthos sent him over to get a file.
Diane meets Spinelli at his office who wants to revise his last will and testament. She knows she will regret this, but asks what’s going on. He explains the events of the evening and thinks Sonny might kill him when he learns he did in fact locate the kids, but didn’t tell him. Spinelli explains he didn’t tell him because he agrees with Jax that Sonny is too big a target and would pose a threat to the kids. Diane agrees and thinks it never hurts to be prepared, but she doesn’t think these precautions regarding his will are necessary.
At the police station, Dominic, Mac and the ADA try to figure out a way to keep Dominic’s cover intact, as Diane walks in demanding Dominic be let go. She states there was no warrant or probable cause, but Lucky, who followed her in, insists he went by the book. The ADA says she will check the paperwork.
Olivia goes to the police station as the ADA comes back to the interrogation room and says the evidence collected can’t be used against Dominic and Lucky is furious. Diane tells Dominic he is free to go and Dominic leaves. He walks by Olivia, who follows him out.
Diane calls Johnny and tells him Dominic is free, but he was uncooperative. He asks about the latter statement and she explains he refused to admit anything other than he was a longshoreman. Impressed, she says that they don’t have to worry about Dominic ‘telling tales out of school’.
Lucky questions Dominic at the warehouse, as Johnny hides. After Dominic gets glib, Lucky takes him to the station.
Diane goes to the police station and talks with Mac and the new ADA about Alexis’ case. Mac tells Diane about Spinelli proposing to Maxie and Diane is tickled. She defends him to Mac and then Lucky brings Dominic in.
