As she leaves the hospital, Olivia finds her. She says that she's arranged for 24/7 protection of her and her house. Kate asks where all of this is coming from? Olivia tells Kate that a mob war has broken out and she is a target because Sonny always 'scratches his itch' no matter who it hurts in the end. Kate says that she's been around Sonny long enough to know that mob security is only an illusion.
And So It Begins.
Maxie brings Kate home from the hospital. Kate sits while Maxie lights a fire and wistfully says that she was supposed to return here as Mrs. Sonny Corinthos. Soon, Jax comes by, and Maxie goes back to the office. Jax tells Kate about Sonny's alibi, but Kate says it's a lie. Jax says that's not even the issue, but Carly and Sonny's bond is why he's done. Before he leaves, he suggests that she come to the same conclusion about Sonny.
Later, Sonny comes by with flowers. Kate tells him that she knows about the alibi that Carly provided him and they are over. She is tired of him turning to Carly for everything he needs and this is the last straw. Sonny tells her that Karpov tried to kill him but Carly pulled him out of the water. Kate softens for a moment, but points out that he and Carly are perfect for each other. She says that she comes second always and it's not enough for her. She defines the word 'irrevocable' for him and then throws him out.
Another Kiss Goodbye.
Over at GH, Olivia finds Claudia taunting Kate about her impending marriage to Sonny. She tosses her out, but finds Claudia's coat has been left behind. In the pocket, Olivia finds a cell phone.
An Oath Trumps a Vow.
Sonny is over at GH telling Olivia to stay out of his face. As Kate is wheeled back into the room, he says that he has no intention of marrying Claudia. Kate calmly tells Olivia that she's starting to think she wants Sonny for herself and that’s why she's so upset about the Claudia thing. Olivia is so furious that she leaves with her hands flying in the air. Later, Sonny finds her and she says that the best thing she ever did was break up with him all those years ago. Sonny says that she didn't get too far because she's here now causing him problems! When he refuses to discuss business with her, Olivia says that he will do what he has to do, but he'd better be honest with Connie.
No Wedding Jitters for Robin.
Claudia breezes into Kate's hospital room, replaces her vase of flowers, and asks for insight into Sonny for when she marries him. She explains that her father insists that she marry Sonny before he joins the family business. Kate tells her that she's out of her mind. Claudia plops down on Kate's bed and says that now she can offer Sonny more than sex, she can offer power and they both know that's a big turn-on to him. Kate says that Sonny hates her, but Claudia says that Sonny will soon be hers. That's when Olivia shows up and tells Claudia to get away from her cousin!
Laura Comes Alive!
Later, Sonny is in Kate's room alone when Olivia's cell phone rings. He answers it and explains to the voice on the other end that Olivia is out of the room. He introduces himself and then asks who he's speaking to. "Oh, I didn't know Olivia had a son," Sonny says.
Sam Can't Get Anyone to Believe Her.
Sonny has gone to visit Kate. She's upset because she can't stop thinking about how close they came to getting everything they want. Sonny tells her that they still can. Kate tells him about Jason's visit earlier and that she does not want him to avenge her. She says that Crimson and his coffee business would give them a wonderful life. Sonny says that he tried, but he cannot get out of the mob. "If you can't see yourself living with me while I'm in the mob, then I understand," he tells her. He asks her to trust him that the violence won't get worse, in fact, the situation will get better.
Olivia comes, so Sonny kisses Kate goodbye and then leaves. Kate makes another plea for Olivia to tell Sonny that he has a son because it could make all the difference to him. Olivia refuses and leaves. On her way out of the hospital, she runs into Sonny talking to Mike. She listens as he explains that Jason won't help him go after Karpov, so he's considering making an alliance with the Zaccharas. Then he tells Mike that he'd have to marry Claudia to get the power.
Here Comes a Different Bride?
Jason has stopped by Kate's hospital room, but she is sleeping. Olivia whisks him to the hallway and says that she wants to get a handle on what her cousin is up against. She asks what the chances are of him giving Sonny his business back? Jason won't say anything and Olivia doesn't appreciate the strong silent type. After he says that all he wants for Sonny and Kate is happiness, Olivia lets him go inside. He tells Kate that Sonny's about to make a big mistake and maybe she can stop him. He goes on to talk about the dangerous alliance that he's about to make, but when he won't give her the name, she tells him that he has to learn to live with his betrayal.
