The Cops Arrive!

Inside the hospital, Dr. Ford tells the staff that they will need medical help for all the people on the island and tells them all to get ready to go and help out.

Robin has an epiphany.

Dr. Leo and Emily are starting to work on Jerry in the ER. Jolene's sister Nadine has been asked to help too, since she was the only nurse they could find. Dr. Ford shows up and asks why Leo is working triage, with an intern and a nurse who isn't even on staff? Leo tells Dr. Ford that they need to work on keeping the patient alive. Nadine introduces herself to Dr. Ford and says that she can't believe that her sister killed anyone. He takes a firm stance with her and tells her to leave before he has security throw her out.

Warnings and Distractions

Nikolas threatens to fire Dr. Ford. Emily steps in and tells Nikolas he is overreacting! Nikolas backs off, slightly, by requesting that the doc approve Emily's upcoming vacation request. He agrees and then walks away. Nikolas turns to Emily, ready to go on vacation. She stuns him by saying she can't just drop everything and leave her job and school. He realizes he is late and leaves Emily shocked about his actions. Later, Emily meets Nikolas in the park. She tells him that he was wrong to talk to Dr. Ford the way he did but Nikolas doesn't see that he did anything wrong and pushes the vacation idea even harder. She asks if they can postpone the trip for a while. Nikolas pretends it is no big deal and says they'll do it another time.

Spinelli's Fantasy.

Emily runs into Jax at the hospital. He apologizes for the pain that Jerry caused her family and for how long it took him to realize that his brother is a horrible person now. She says that she has come to believe that Jerry isn't completely lost. She says that Jerry helped Carly to exonerate Jason, so he can't be all bad. Jax says that he probably just wanted Jason to owe him and Emily agrees -- but she's just happy that Jason is free. She says that if Jerry loves anyone, it's his brother. "If there's any chance of him turning his life around, it's you," she tells Jax. Dr. Ford scowls at Emily for sitting on the job, so she scurries off.

Nikolas goes to Emily at the hospital and tells her that the jet is fueled for Italy. She tells him that she can't go anywhere! Just then Dr. Ford asks her exactly how much time she is planning on wasting today? Nikolas says that he simply stopped by on his way to the board meeting. Dr. Ford tells Nikolas that he's well aware of his status on the hospital board, but Emily is an intern who needs to see to her work. "Emily will do whatever she pleases and if you stop her, I'll fire you and destroy your reputation," Nikolas yells.

Spinelli With A Gun?!?

Dr. Ford confronts Patrick and Robin about the treatment of their rock star patient. They defend their actions as Epiphany warns the nurses to stay on guard or they won't make it through their ER rotations. She reminds the nurses that Patrick and Robin broke the rules. They wonder how they'll survive. Dr. Ford leaves; Stan comes down from the roof and they ask how the date went. Stan is shocked that everyone knows already. Robin leaves to finish up some work. Stan gives Patrick the details, telling him that he might like Lainey - under different circumstances, of course. Patrick leaves. Lainey finds Robin and tells her just how bad the date was. Robin tells her to feel better - because she'll never have to do that again. Patrick and Robin check out on their shift; Patrick tells her not to expect much sleep!

Friend or Foe?

Patrick and Robin come out of surgery and Robin tells him that he is brilliant! Dr. Ford finds them and tells them that there will be a price to pay for going against his orders.

Motherhood.

Dr. Ford finds Robin and Patrick kissing in the hospital and tells them that their behavior is unacceptable. He uses their actions as a segue into discussing what's wrong with the way that GH has been run for years. Robin demands respect for Alan Quartermaine, but Dr. Ford says that the hospital was nearly bankrupted because of the late Dr. Quartermaine's manner of running things. He tells Patrick and Robin that they will be brought in front of the review board if it happens again. After he leaves, Patrick and Robin express their concern over Dr. Ford's focus of putting the bottom line in front of patient care. Then they start to kiss again.

Jerry hears from his Mother!

At GH, Noah is telling Dr. Ford that turning away patients is criminal. Dr. Ford says that they are a business and can't afford to be taken over by a HMO. He warns that if they don't break even, they'll have no choice. Monica has overhead the whole thing. Later, Monica and Noah agree that they do have some hospital issues to consider, but Dr. Ford has got to be stopped. Down the hall, Robin runs into Patrick and asks what the arguing over hospital policy is all about. Patrick tells her that's the least of their problems. He tells her that Emily is asking if they have reconciled.
