Tracy Plays Her Hand

Maxie tells Logan she wants to watch him with Lulu! Sonny arrives, wondering what is going on between the two of them. He orders Logan to get back to work and Logan orders Maxie out of the coffee house. She leaves. Logan follows Sonny, apologizing for talking to Maxie rather than working. Scott arrives and orders Logan out of the office! Logan leaves. Scott accuses Sonny of being involved in Laura's kidnapping and offers a deal: help him get Laura back or Scott will send Jason up the river for Alcazar's death! Sonny tells Scott he has no idea where Laura is but Scott doesn't believe him. Scott tells Sonny that once Jason in jail it will be open season on him! He lets Sonny know that he is gunning for Ric's position and he'll use Sonny, Jason and anyone else to get it! "Wise up, pick up the phone and call me," Scott says. He opens the door, surprised to see Amelia standing there. Behind his back, Sonny puts his finger to his lips, telling Amelia to keep quiet. Scott leaves. Amelia tells Sonny about Kate and he brushes it off. In the hall Scott and Logan have another run-in. Logan tells Scott he doesn't owe him anything and Scott threatens to hit him!

Amelia is meeting with another producer when Kate arrives with a proposition - that Amelia publicize her affair with Sonny! Amelia walks away in disbelief but Kate follows. She refuses to admit to any kind of relationship with Sonny. If she won't, Kate suggests that she leave Sonny alone to find a new woman! Both leave. Sam arrives at the station, annoyed to find Amelia gone and the other producer giving orders. Maxie comes in with a garment bag which Sam sends away with orders that she begin picking out her own clothes and choose her own stories. The producer leaves but Maxie stays. Sam confides in her a little bit and Maxie suggests she just leave Jason! Comparing Sam and Jason to her and Lucky, Maxie tells her she is setting herself up for a lot of hurt by sticking around! Later Amelia returns, annoyed to find Sam at work but not working. She tells Sam to get to work or get out. Rubbing it in that Jason didn't call her from lock-up and reminding her that she is losing him, Amelia gives Sam orders to call a story contact. Sam refuses!

Couplings.

Jason is dressed in a suit and talking with Diane in the interrogation room. She's telling him that petitioning the judge for an emergency bail hearing is a long shot when Amelia bursts in. Diane tries to throw her out, but Amelia says that Jason needs to make time to see her right now. "It's about someone very close to your heart," she says. Jason sends Diane out of the room and Amelia warns him that Sam will do her best to manipulate Jason into believing that she's incapable of killing Bill Monroe, "…or, say, kidnapping your baby." She tells Jason that she provided an alibi for Sam to the cops, but maybe Sam really did make Jake vanish. Before she leaves, she tells him to think about it.

Amelia is surprised when Sam comes to the set and tells the crew to leave for the day because she and Amelia have "artistic differences to discuss." Once they are alone, Sam tells Amelia that she is giving fair warning NOT to underestimate her. For the first time ever, they both talk about Sam's past and Amelia says that Sam probably threw herself down the stairs to make it seem like her dad beat her. Sam says that Amelia can do what she wants with what she knows. Amelia says that Sam is far too valuable to her career and they are bound together until her contract runs out.

Amelia calls Maureen (a recent fire victim who lost her child) to ask about some paperwork that she needs to fill out regarding her appearance on "Everyday Heroes". Maureen nervously tells Amelia that she has changed her mind and doesn't want to be on the show anymore. In the background, Amelia can hear a baby crying.

Dreams and Nightmares.

Alexis reaches for the file that Amelia has handed her and expresses her sympathies for her loss, but "Angela Monroe" was acquitted. Amelia explains that after four months of wedded bliss, her father got a phone call that his bank accounts were being emptied and he came home to find his "little cupcake" getting ready to leave. She goes on to say that Angela, a.k.a. Sam, ended up blowing a hole in his chest. "How proud you must be of your little girl," Amelia deadpans. Alexis asks Amelia why she would go to all the trouble of making Sam a TV star? Amelia admits that the higher a person is, the harder they fall when they are exposed. Alexis says the plan would've worked great, but she is going straight to her daughter to tell her that her supposed boss is out to destroy her. Amelia says that they are getting down to the "end game" now anyway. Amelia invites Alexis to look at the 5 aliases that Sam has gone by as proof that Sam is a user. "I bet she has used you, too," Amelia tells her. Amelia says that a woman has to have ice in her veins to sleep with her mother's husband. Alexis says that she can be stopped, legally. Amelia tells her that Sam is under contract to the show and that so far, she has done nothing to damage her precious reputation.

Amelia keys into her hotel room unaware that a man is watching her.

Sam Confesses.

Sonny and Amelia are getting hot and heavy in his office - not knowing that Kate has returned and is in the coffee shop outside the door. Kate mischievously decides to hold the flame of Sonny's lighter to the fire alarm so that they will be disturbed! Amelia and Sonny hurry to put their clothes back on and carefully walk into the coffee shop to see if there's a real fire or an ambush! When they find no cause for the alarm, they write it off to a glitch. Amelia tells him that the "mood" is gone and Sonny says that he can "recreate mood…pretty quickly." She takes a rain check and Sonny says that his guard will see her home safely.

Amelia returns to the set of "Everyday Heroes" and asks Sam how the run through went. Sam tells her that the writers need to take another pass at the script. Amelia looks surprised and Sam reminds her that she is the star and needs to feel comfortable, right? Amelia agrees, but Sam isn't done talking. She wants to know if Amelia ever regrets having to work so hard in convincing her to take the job. "Don't be silly," Amelia says and admits that things have turned out even better than she imagined. "I'll bet," Sam says and walks away.

Amelia finds the file on the table and ask Wes if Sam gave any indication that she saw the file. He says that he doesn't think so, but just then Alexis arrives. She wants to go over Sam's contract because there are some things she's not comfortable with - such as the clause that allows Amelia to fire Sam without cause. Amelia says that Alexis's barracuda of a daughter is the last person who needs protecting. Alexis threatens to take Amelia's network to court if she doesn't amend the contract and then Amelia pulls out her big guns. She hands Alexis the file on Sam, and proceeds to tell her what's in it.
