Sam is out on a freighter pleading with Jerry for her life, and his, as it turns out because he says that he's going to die with her. She promises that they can find a safe and beautiful place where no one will ever find them. Just to mess with her head, he roughly handles an explosive and tells her to smile on their way out. He pretends to trip the detonator and Sam screams. After she calms down, he tells her that he has too many women yet to fondle and he's not going to die just yet. He will let Jax and Alexis think he's dead, however. He says that she is the glue that holds his scheme together. She asks for an explanation and he says that the ship will blow up and people will think the drugs are gone, but he's going to have them. Her sexy, dead body will convince everyone that they both went down with the ship.
Sam wakes up chained to a bed on a freighter and Jerry tells her that this is the beginning of the last day of her life. He tells her that she may be beautiful, daring and sexy, but she's not particularly bright. She says that she's not book smart, but she knows how to read him. She speculates that he won't kill her because he'd never want Jax or Alexis to know what he's capable of. He says that he would like to avoid hurting them, but Port Charles is closing in on him. She asks if she can be his ally, instead. He simply turns and leaves the room. When he returns, he giddily announces that he has a present for her. He sits next to her and opens a box of explosives. "You are not going out without a bang, I promise you," Jerry teases.
Jason tries calling Sam but Jerry won't let her answer the phone. He arrives a few minutes later and Jerry tells her to get rid of him – or Jason is dead! He hides. Sam tells Jason that she hung up on him because she didn't want to talk to him on this night because of their past. "I am done being pathetic," she says and tells him to go. Jason doesn't buy her story and looks around but doesn't find Jerry. He leaves. Sam starts to go after him but Jerry stops her. "That was a great performance," he says. He wonders if she meant what she said and she insists she isn't going to be Jason's patsy ever again. Sam asks why they can't be partners and Jerry points the gun at her, telling her to stop switching sides! He says he isn't going to let her wreck his plans and fills a syringe – then gives her a shot! Sam believes he has poisoned her but Jerry says the drug is only going to make her comfortable while they travel. Sam sees her phone and tries to reach it with her foot but Jerry catches her and grabs the phone. She reaches into her pocket, pulls something out and drops it to the floor. Jerry picks her up and carries her out the door.
Jerry takes Sam to a ship and puts her in a locked room. She is out of it but asks where he is taking her; Jerry won't tell her. "This voyage will be your last," he says.
Sam keys into her apartment and her phone rings right away. It's Jason, who wants to know if she made it home okay. Sam says that she did, but something isn't right. Just then, Jerry bursts out from his hiding spot and covers her mouth.
Sam arrives at the hospital and tells Nadine about her drug bust. Jerry watches from the hall. She sees Matt at the desk and asks him about the clinic fire. Jason watches them. Matt says he remembers a man standing near him but says he only saw shoes; he says the shoes looked like something Jerry would wear! Jerry calls Sam for a meeting.
Sam is brought into the interrogation room and finds Jerry waiting for her with Belgian chocolates as an apology. Sam laughs at him. Then Jerry tells her that this would be a good time for the 'if you can't beat them, join them' mentality. He tells her that when she gets out on bail, they could strike a partnership and rip Karpov off. Not missing a chance to play him, Sam cozies up to him and says that's a good idea. That's when Lucky shows up and says that he was going to help, but it looks like she doesn't need him.
Jerry has already arrived at the PCPD when Sam is brought in. She struggles with the cops and promises to make Jerry pay for setting her up. Lucky takes her into the interrogation room and Mac tells Jerry not to leave town because he is a person of interest. Then Jerry tries to convince Alexis that he was only trying to help her and that he let it go too far. Alexis is too stunned by what she saw in the hot tub to hear anything else.
Back in Port Charles, Alexis is standing on Sam's terrace looking at Jerry and Sam in the hot tub. "You're early," Jerry states, and Sam quickly realizes that Jerry has set her up. She starts to explain to her mother that she's trying to prove that Jerry is working with Karpov to import illegal drugs. By way of proof, she tells Alexis to get the PDA out of Jerry's jacket pocket. Jerry calmly says that he does indeed have a PDA but Alexis could spare herself a lot of heartache if she smashed it without even listening to it. Sam insists that she's telling the truth, so Alexis briefly checks it out. She only finds music and restaurant listings on the PDA. Sam says that it must be encrypted or something! Jerry says that Sam came on to him and he wanted to expose her to her mother. Sam promises that isn't true, but is interrupted by Mac when he arrives with a search warrant. While the cops conduct their search, Sam tries to explain but Alexis tells her to stop talking without a lawyer. Finally, Mac finds the drugs that have come up missing from GH and replaced with fakes.
Jerry arrives for his date at Sam's apartment and finds her in a bikini. She tells him that it's a beautiful night for the hot tub and eyeballs the camera that she has set up. As Jerry slips into it with her, Alexis comes to the door to talk to Sam. Since no one heard her knock, she walks in and out on the terrace just in time to see Jerry kissing Sam.
