Out in the waiting room, Anna is very upset and Mac tries to remain calm. Maxie sits next to a very sullen and quiet Spinelli. Matt doesn’t know exactly where he fits in so he rambles out the periphery of the family members and the staff.
At the wedding, the minister asks for a doctor and half the congregation stands up. Kelly steps forward and takes charge; the crowd is dispersed. Kelly says they can't wait for an ambulance and they commandeer a limo to get Patrick and Robin to the hospital. Anna drives while Patrick, Robin and Kelly are in the back; Robin tells Anna to slow down but she just keeps driving faster!
Maxie wants to see Robin but Mac, who is freaking out, and Anna tell her to give the doctors room to work. Spinelli arrives and Maxie asks him if everything is going to be okay with Robin's baby. Mac is worried, too, but Anna tells him that Robin – and the baby – will be fine because the staff knows how to protect her. Matt walks in and asks where Robin is. Elizabeth comes out and says there is a complication. She says the baby is in a bad position and they are trying to move the baby. Maxie can't believe this is happening to Robin. Spinelli gives her a book of art to cheer her up. Elizabeth returns and tells them that the baby's heartbeat isn't strong; Jason hears and walks out.
Back at the church, Robin is ready. Mac describes her as eerily calm, while Anna and Maxie bestow various traditional bridal items. The 'old' is a necklace that Anna wore on the day she married Robert, the 'blue' is a bracelet of Georgie's, the 'borrowed' is a handkerchief of Robert's and they all agree that the baby is the best example of 'new' that ever was. Just then, Spinelli bursts into the room to report that the groom is missing!
Over at Queen of Angels, Maxie and Spinelli are hard at work getting the church ready for the wedding. Spinelli can't help but stare at her amidst all the flowers and tell her that she'll be a lovely bride one day. Maxie says that she doesn't think she'll ever marry, but watching her mom and Mac get married was really nice. She wistfully says that she thought they'd be a family forever, but all of Felicia's vows were lies because she left them just a year later. She says that she hates her mother for making terrible choices, just like she does. That's why marriage isn't in her future, Maxie tells a deflated Spinelli.
It's time for Robin to leave for the church and she finds that the limo out front of Mac's house is surrounded by squad cars! Maxie suddenly realizes that everything is accounted for except the groom. Then she tells Spinelli to go make sure that the best man hasn't gotten him drunk at Jake's. Robin confidently tells them all to relax because Patrick won't be late.
Over at Robin's place, Maxie and Robin are guiding Spinelli and Patrick in the fine art of making bird seed packets to toss after the wedding vows are exchanged. Patrick keeps asking why such things are important, and Maxie explains that he needs to be more like Spinelli who listens like a girl would. Spinelli is wounded by the comparison, but Maxie is able to turn it into a compliment somehow. Patrick makes a lame excuse and heads out of there faster than if he were on fire. Mac shows up and snags a little alone time with Robin. She asks him to walk her down the aisle and they speak of Robert who is fighting cancer. Mac says that he wishes Robert could do the honor, but that he would be proud to do it and give his blessing. He clarifies that he'll never give her away, however.
At Shadybrook, Lulu is beaming as she tells Laura that she's not as crazy as she thought. She promises her mother that she's getting out of Shadybrook and then wishes that she could take her when she goes. Maxie and Spinelli rush in and politely greet Laura. Then they tell Lulu that they spotted Trevor on the premises and ask if he would have reason to scare her. Lulu says that he'd do anything to keep her away from Johnny! Lulu stays to read poetry with Laura, and her friends leave to track Trevor down. After a nice visit with her mom, Lulu heads back to her room for the night. She finds another note waiting for her!
Spinelli and Maxie end up at The Metro Court dressed as waiters. Why? That's where Trevor is meeting with Johnny. Maxie spies on them while ordering flowers for Patrick and Robin's wedding on her blackberry. She tells Spinelli that unless Lulu is tied to a railroad track, she's going to divert her attentions to wedding planning very soon.
Over at their table, Trevor writes the name of the doctor he hired to diagnose Anthony's mental illness on a napkin and hands it over to Johnny. Spinelli, who has been eavesdropping while bussing the next table, leans back too far and ends up spilling ice on Trevor's lap. Instead of running off, Spinelli snatches the napkin and announces that they are ambassadors of 'The Fair One' and have proof that Trevor is playing with Lulu's head. Johnny demands to know what they're talking about, so Spinelli quickly looks at Trevor's handwriting and compares it to the notes Lulu has found. They don't match at all. Trevor asks for an apology and then leaves. Unhappy to learn that Lulu has gotten more notes, Johnny takes off.
